You have outdone yourself mate! This is a travelogue...a great travelogue! I have been following you for years, and it is inspiring to see how far you’ve come. You’re commentary and enthusiasm are fantastic as well...even with the allergies or case of the sniffles. Cheers!
Hey Finchy, really needed to drop you my congratulations for your hard work you obviously put into your channel over the past months and years. You make it hard for every other Golf UA-camr to top your content. That's Top Of The Game!
Stopped midway through the video to say 1) loved the editing, 2) loved the background bits of comedic relief, and 3) you can see the joy and happiness Pete is experiencing throughout this trip. Definitely want to make a trip up when I make it to the UK!
I played Powfoot and Southerness a few years ago. Southerness was amazing. I would happily play there for the rest of my life! Great hospitality there. The lovely ladies in the office fixed me up with three members for a game. Just a great day.
Great video! Visited Dumfries and Galloway last year. What’s also worth saying is how welcoming the golf courses are for families - absolutely great fun for kids to play
Peter Finch Golf If you ever fancy a vlog spending lots of time in the trees with a dodgy 20 handicapper on one of the beautiful courses in Nottinghamshire give me a shout 👍🏻 Keep it up mate
Haven't golfed down there but have holidayed. There are some amazing beaches and lots of things to do. Well worth a visit and I'll definitely take my clubs next time.
As a video guy, how can I say no to the time-lapse? Absolutely worth it!! What I did find myself amazed at was that I would happily watch Pete munch on chocolates and mumble incoherently for 2 minutes and think nothing of it. Great fun!
Great work to you both, excellent camerawork John. Lived in the area 20 years ago and all the courses are brilliant and so cheap. And even cheaper if you play them in their opens and you get to meet some of the locals. Best video you’ve done.
Peter Finch Golf good! Btw I subbed not that long ago, and your videos have convinced me to start playing again for the first time since i was about 14
A beautiful golfing area, played all the 18 hole courses James mentioned, so much value for money. What you save on green fees, can be spent on accommodation, and of course chocolate. We are blessed in "Bonnie Scotland" Lots of tournament golf around June/July, where prices are even better.
It looks like a beautiful and peaceful place, would be nice to go play golf or just sit and relax for while in a good weather. Places like these should be promoted more.
Tell me how much FUN would that be. Combining 3 of my favorite things, golf, history, and photography. It would take a lot to get me to leave that place. Great video blog, I am so jealous...
Hi Pete been watching the channel for a quite a while. And this is by far my favourite vid you've ever made. It has great music. Great camera work and just great content. Keep up the great work.
Hi Peter, I played Southerness on a windy day and it was tough! Played Portpatrick links closer to Stranraer and it was excellent. Two had one thing in common, excellent greens that gave you confidence of sinking longer puts.
Love seeing Kirkcudbright on the channel I’m from Carnoustie myself but my Dad is from Kirkcudbright love visiting and love playing golf in Dumfries and Galloway, far better golf and far cheaper than what I get in Somerset Great channel and great video Btw time lapse so worth it 👊🏻
Great video guys. We are from Northumberland and made our annual society trip to portpatrick for years on end. Played all those courses each year including the Dunskie at portpatrick. Fond memories of me and my dad playing over there. Cheers for creating the video #feelingnostalgic 👊🏻👍🏻
Tomorrow im off to Kelso in the borders for a week of golf and now I’m adding Thornhill to the list. Great video with a quick look at some amazing courses. Hope you do those course vlogs you mentioned.
Thanks for thornhill thumbs up. I’m playing Roxburgh torwoodlee Hawick and Jedburgh. I’ve got to persuade the others to travel further west. I’ll show them Peters video.
Have been watching your channel for a while now Pete, but the content of the last couple of months has been amazing. Would definitely watch a tv length episode from you!!
Brilliant vlog an keep up the good work. I think Scotland is just a stunning place weather your playing golf or just doing a road trip as there is so much to see
Great video Pete, some real hidden gems there, not only the courses but the area itself is beautiful, if I was able to, I'd be taking a few weeks travelling round playing all the courses that were shown and mentioned in your video, I can imagine that the Scottish Tourist Board would be very pleased with it if they saw it ☺
Great video Pete, D&G is a great place and you are correct saying that so many people drive straight through heading further North. Also got great beaches, walking, monutain biking .....not sure why I left now
One of your very best vlogs. The scenery was spectacular. How can I go thru life now and not put Scotland on my bucket list. Really great video Pete. Thx
Great work guys. Brilliant to see you back in Scotland. I've been down there (from Glasgow) loads of times and the courses are great. I loved Southerness and Powfoot in particular but the others are also worth playing, Portpatrick, D&G, D&C. We have also stayed in the Cally Palace hotel. Fantastic food and a nice golf course there too. By the way, Thornhill was the home course of ex Ryder cupper, Andrew Coltart I believe.
If you ever want to come to Dallas Tx. I can get you onto maybe 10 or more courses free of charge Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Pete Dye, Robert Von Haag designed courses. I went to college with the Dude Perfect guys, maybe I can wrangle them into it too
Scotland is a beast with courses buddy. Been around a few and Dumfries and Galloway is a brilliant place to go and hit a few. And I went around Stanraer golf course with a few of my old man's pals when I went on holiday there as a wee 9 year old! Brings back memories. Enjoyed again as always 😁
I lived in D&G for a while. Played a lot of golf and went to school in kirkcudbright. Some great courses in that area for a fraction of the price you would pay in the city. Great video Pete!
Great Vid and good to see this hidden gem of a region being promoted. I've been up there a few times, the welcome you get the courses, scenery, food are all awesome.Dumfries and Galloway, Dunfries and County, Port Patrick, Kircudbright and Lockerby are all really worth playing.. As well as the others mentioned in the Vlog.. ;-)
That intro was lit (to quote the yunguns). I even typed that before you’ve mentioned it yourself. Maybe I like the song, maybe I just like your positive attitude. Keep it up Peter
Always good posts Peter... But 'unexplored'...!! For 20 plus years 12 of us stayed in Dumfries and over the week played various courses in the area. The are all great and I'm sure have room for more players...... but there were all lot of other groups playing also and on my last visit to Southerness (superb) I spoke to the Secretary who mentioned they take about £250,000 a year in visitor fees!
Pete. Love these travel vids and your suggestions for places to go on tours. More of these please, my organising golf tour hat needs more suggestions and tips.
OK, I am convinced, so will move to Scotland immediately. Hang on - I already live there! More seriously, that was a fantastic vlog both the content, the filing, editing etc; the full 9 yards. Well done to you and John P for a job well done. Cheers
(Slow clap) 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The best UA-cam for golf just stepped it up a massive notch😯 Your best work yet pete and I’m sure I’ve seen all your videos atleast twice 😅😂🤣 Legendary Mr. Finch! Those time lapse were so worth It😉
The Princess Victoria was a ferry that crossed the North Channel from Stranraer, Scotland to Larne, Northern Ireland. After clearing Loch Ryan and turning west, the ship was hit by gale force winds. As the frightful voyage continued, the ship sustained heavy damage and she sank five miles east of the Copeland Islands. Only 44 of the 177 people on board survived.
Peter & John- Great footage and beautiful editing. The Camber of Commerce (or whatever it is called in the UK) got its money's worth for that beautiful commercial.
I grew up there and was a member at dumfries & county as a schoolboy. Great memories, but life moves on and retirement in normandy with its golf courses is ok too

Again, thanks for taking me along on your jaunts to places I would never get to see otherwise..
No probs Steve :)
Great video! Visited Dumfries and Galloway last year. What’s also worth saying is how welcoming the golf courses are for families - absolutely great fun for kids to play
Can't really comment on that myself, but il take your word for it :)
The time-lapse shot was definitely worth it. As a former professional photographer - 2 thumbs up. Well done. And nice background music.
