I think Pete does more to promote these sorts of events than anyone else out there. And let's be honest I'm not sure anyone is making a living from them either, so he is hardly taking someones livelihood away. He is a fantastic ambassador for the game of golf. Keep up the good work Pete.
I don’t understand why people don’t just watch content and enjoy it for what it is. Instead of the video having to have some deeper meaning or connection to why he’s doing it. Pete could do a weekend round with his friends using just a 7 iron and I’d watch and enjoy. I love the channel regardless of what clubs he’s using or who he’s playing. Either way keep up the great content sir 🙌🏻
@@benlemoi3515 I enjoy the content when there's some sort of competition involved. Even if it's for a beer with a buddy. Or if playing a course alone at least use a caddy to add some banter. Probably the worst is any YTers playing a course blind. This was also interesting, fighting a mystery bag

Good to see Harrington's (spot on) advice is being adhered to on the first 7 holes, Pete. Mood creates performance, not performance creates mood. You are so harsh on yourself! You need your 'inner cheerleader' at all times, regardless of the outcome of your shot.
He thinks it’s just about positive language but there’s so much more to it, he’s so critical of himself. Needs to see a therapist, it would help him so much!!
Pete, golf is a game, it’s meant to be fun and enjoyable so please continue doing your thing because you’re making it both those things in all your vids!
Absolutely loved this video Pete on so many levels. Great entertainment found myself routing for you more than normal. It just shows what an amazing golfer you are. Also "a bad workman blames his tools" just kept coming to my mind when you can use second hand clubs and do so well. Let's have another one. Idea enter a comp with Ric and pick each other's GB clubs. Amazing entertainment.
Nice to see you found all the places I would have found on the course.... normally fair ways all day long with you, it's nice to see you are human arfter all 😊
The constant struggle aka golf. Props for constantly pushing forward! 10/10!! Be it those "temp" clubs or your own, you do what you can with them. I'm still rocking my fathers Ping Eye 2 1982 set and I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to ever "upgrade".
Great content, as always. The 2nd round was electric! This video gave me much more of an appreciation for Valhalla that I didn’t get during the PGA Championship.
Your skills and talent are not in dispute...we your audience and fans share a bit of your frustration and it makes you relatable. The difficulty of the game is part of why we love it. Thank you for sharing this challenge. Most of us couldn't use someone else's clubs, especially if we were fit well to our own.
Fantastic Pete, it is called a challenge for a reason. Yes, you are being nobbled but it is for all the right reasons, promoting the game on a budget (well at least at an affordable amount) and still being able to play at a very competitive level. Love your commitment to ever enjoyable content even if it does fray your nerves a little.
First off, loving the tournament videos Pete. Was glad when I heard you were gonna be doing more of them from your podcast, which also is great. Keep up the great work ⛳️🏌️
Really enjoyed the episode ! used to be a member at Heysham 30 some years ago . Nice to see how the course has matured so well . Looks in great shape .
Great format, interesting to see the thought process with unknown clubs.. It was nice watching a course I know very well, the greenkeepers do a great job here and like usual the course looked great👌🏻👌🏻
Peter stick with it mate. We all love these videos - you are putting yourself out there. Your are enjoying your Golf again - so don't beat yourself up if things go a little off, Paddy was right. You said it yourself.
It takes courage to experiment with unknown clubs in a public event, well done sir. Concerning the driver, I did notice that the few times when you went with a cut you controlled it quite well, any other shape was met with inconsistency. Work the cut baby!
Well done Peter! It's not easy sticking completely new and different clubs under pressure in a tournament. If you would have had a little bit time to get the rhythm and tempo for this clubs you maybe would have scored a even par round. Sometimes your alignment is silly! If you stand below a ball in the rough with a slightly open stands and the ball more from the front feet, and you swallowing the club, them the possibilities getting a closed face and pulling the shot is huge. If you want a open stands, then take theball back and hit him a lille bit steeper si that the face doesn't close up. And for all, aim a few yards away from the pin! Anyway... Thanks for the great content! Cheers!
Just remember Pete, when you're looking for other people's reactions when you do well, you'll put too much emphasis on them when you don't do so well. I hope you take a moment to yourself and be proud of what you've created fella.
Love this - it might be better if you bent them to your specs, as one would if they bought used clubs. Then it would actually be a better representation of the clubs themselves and not your ability to adapt your swing to more upright clubs and distances (which is impressive, don’t get me wrong). Food for thought! Love always
I "upgraded" to those irons this year as my 13 year old decided he wanted to play and he got my old X-16's. They are not as forgiving as the X-16's but when hit pure......they feel amazing. Would love to see one more round with these clubs…as I have the OG 7 putter as well… If only I could shoot 4-5 over the vibe walking off the course would be a lot different. Still got my goal to break 80 this summer.
Be proud of yourself. You’ve earned it. Your family is proud of you. So stop being so hard on yourself and have fun playing the game. You’ll play better
Wish we had a Golf Bidder in Australia. Would love to try different clubs. I stopped playing golf 2001 and took it up again in 2021. Mist 20 years of technology changes. When I was a kid my dream set was the Wilson Ultra fire sticks. Not to many of these around
Oh Pete, you're still beating yourself up for the last shot, while taking the next one! You're better than that, mate! Keep going. It's a brilliant watch.
Pete, love your videos. You have a great game...as long as you stay out of your head. I may be wrong, but I wouldn't think a pro event would be the place to try out equipment that you have not hit before???
Keeping the usual great attitude definitely had my attention. The calculating on every shot with those clubs had to be stressful. Grinding thru that round while smiling and carrying on to the next shot kept me watching.
First “new” driver I bought myself out of High School was an SLDR TP Japanese Edition had no idea how absolutely unforgiving those clubs are. But dang can you crush 1 when everything lines up! 🤣
The sldr is the first driver I could properly hit far. And that burner driver that was a triangle in my middle school years was probably the most accurate.
It's so interesting to see your mental state in this video Vs the 18 birdies in 24 hours video. In the face of something practically impossible (18 birdies in 24 hours) it was clearly incredibly hard on you, but no matter what, you had a resilience I've never seen before (it was incredible, I'm not crying...) But in this comp, the smallest mistake seems to get to you. At risk of being an armchair psychiatrist, you seem to struggle when you heap expectation on yourself. As if you're obligated to perform, so you overthink the things you do so well. I genuinely love your content. It's inspiring, fun and always entertaining. Trust yourself, you're ace!
More proof second hand clubs or just older clubs in general are still great, it's all just marketing now. I still have the Callaway X2 Hot Pro 3 wood in the bag, best club I have ever hit without a doubt! Won't be leaving...ever haha. Great attempt, Pete. Practicing with them would have got you a better score for sure.
I think the negative comments are off base. Fun idea. Fun video. Stop taking UA-cam golf so seriously guys. He wasn’t out here trying to dunk on pro golfers. Just making fun content👍🏼
5 minutes in and I'm already loving the driver choice as it's the same as mine :D curious, where those irons standard lie or flat at all given that pete likes a couple of degrees flat new video series idea....playing rounds of golf with clubs from each of the past 10 years to see what you can get on the market and how they perform
I love playing a 58 wedge around the green when you need some carry and a bit of run, and it plays double duty anything around 50-100 yards so i don't have all the spin of the 60. keep a 60 with more bounce for around the greens and something I can open up
Hmmm ... love the concept but curious as to why you picked a competition as your test case. Thanks and please keep this type of great content coming!!!
I think I'd modify this challenge so that I could use the putter I normally play with. Putting is hard enough! Playing with substandard clubs can absolutely encourage creativity, but you're not looking for creativity with the putter. You want the confidence that comes with consistency, and adjusting to a random putter not customer-fit for you is certain to mess with your head.
Hi Pete . This is my home course . Hope ya like it . I would love to be able to play with you here one time . Unlucky out there . Some greens are hard so I wouldn’t take all the blame on yourself. 👍

Not to many people could do what Peter did in this video. Adapting to different clubs than you are use to using is harder than you might think. Well done Peter!

Your proximity with your pitching seems to be an issue, you can say if you were putting better it would fix that but really that's a plaster. But it seems like unless you hit every green you really struggle

Golfbidder challenge with Fryer!
Not even watched it yet but sure it will be great content just keeps getting better keep it up

That putter... You should leave it in the parking lot along with that driver!
Pete with the snort on 18!🤣🤘😎
So here's a idea you ,Tubes, Ange and Jimmy bullard do the golf bidder challenge and then split up into teams of 2 and have a match.😊😊
Well good to see the old SLDR is still a long range weapon. Innacurate but long range.
This is a big ad for the LAB putter!
Hi Pete . This is my home course . Hope ya like it . I would love to be able to play with you here one time . Unlucky out there . Some greens are hard so I wouldn’t take all the blame on yourself. 👍
Fun fact. I sell vans just down the road and use the Heysham Golf Club car park to turn around in.
I mean it's a fact. But about as much fun as double maths at school...
Great vid brother! You THA man!
First time an sldr has seen a Stewart golf trolley that’s for sure 😂
You should let each guy on the team do this and see who can pick the best set. A different spin on the golf bidder challenge.
Love this
Enjoyed that👏👏
Props for still standing after the putter whack to the head on 17.
Yeah in hindsight that was a mighty whack
I like you playing these events Pete but prefer you to use your own clubs your not going to improve otherwise, that course was there for the taking for you today.
Pete, that's the most I've seen you jab at putts, ever, I think.
I'm guessing you'll be keeping that 58 degreee wedge. Nice chip in for eagle!
So happy seeing Pete play like the rest of us for a moment 😂
Pete, your view on Stewart pls?
If I played like that, I'd be the happiest man on earth 😊
My mate Tess -5 thru 5 holes there 👌
I would’ve preferred you use you normal bag in a comp because I really want you do well. I prefer the gimmicks out of comp rounds but that’s simply my opinion
Agreed
Not to many people could do what Peter did in this video. Adapting to different clubs than you are use to using is harder than you might think. Well done Peter!
“I thought I’d leave you with a two club gap in the scoring clubs.”
Pete: “Thanks…. No, really.”
Need more of these for sure. Maybe with a poll on X

What a video and what a round. Wish I could play that good with my own clubs.
