Glad you kept the weird chickens on your farm. Sometimes you just need pure enjoyment in your life as a farmer instead of a profit gaining venture. How about Fluffer Butter as one of the names for the silkies.
I have 2 favourite birds on the farm: Jemima Puddleduck and Rosie’s daughter (who I call Denise). I’m really glad you kept Rosie’s daughter, as she has great feathers and is a joy to watch during the Zen moments. That Zen chicken moment with the xylophone was totally worth it.
Morgan, your videos and your storytelling continue to get better and better. Thank you for the care you take with them and for sharing part of your life on Gold Shaw Farm with all of us. If you're half as content as you appear to be, you're definitely where you were meant to be. All best wishes!
It is so apropos that the weird chickens provide their own Zen wind chime soundtrack with the new toy. Interesting how Captain Janeway wasn't as fond of the sounds. Well a Captain has to be more suspicious of novelty, she just wants to be sure it is safe. Seeing the goslings from 3 (4?) different age groups not bully the littler ones is amazing. I am impressed how even if the animals are destined for a shorter life on the farm, their preferences, personalities and care is being adjusted appropriately.
I'm a city girl who originally came here because of beautiful Toby!! But now two years later, YOU and ALL your animals are my weekly shot of pure interest and enjoyment! Thank you, Morgan! Blessings to all!
I’m terrified that my first thought upon seeing the white silkie was “Ah, the Tumblr mascot.” Tumblr flashbacks aside, I love this flock of weird chickens! What lovely silly fluffballs!
It's not that chickens don't need enrichment, they do, but the ones that were sent to Morgen are most likely used for training chickens or for a cool trick to do with them. Or for other types of birds.
Man, I only came across your channel a couple of weeks back, but it's one of my favorites now. You are really good at this. Edit: I mean that you've really got a talent for making maybe a somewhat niche subject into something with a much broader appeal. I wouldn't ordinarily be very interested in this type of content, but you make it fascinating to me. I'm very glad I found your channel, and thanks!
Please keep your weird chickens safe and happy as always, Mr. Morgan (I’m a big fan) they’re full of unique, distinguishable, characteristics...👍🏽❤. Oh and how about a “Tina” as in Tina Turner...with those silky headdresses 😊
We also have fluffy silkies on our small farm ❤️ We find that the eggs, that are a bit smaller than normal, are really nice in omelettes. The yolk is just as big as a normal egg, but then the egg white is smaller. Congratulations with the chickens!
Some advice for silkies. They don't usually run or fight back. If you have silkies near pigs horses goats ect, they will get eaten. They just bunker down and freeze up. Lost a silkie rooster this spring to my boar. That pigs never harmed a chicken in two years, but the silkie rooster decided to just freeze up in the pen and let it happen. 😂
It's so interesting to see the 'normal' chicken with the silkies. Such an interesting match. Tiny raptors sign is adorable! With cows, I think, it's easier to let them all be together. Oh, and thank you for not adding so much music to the video as the last time. I love listening to the farm noises!
Thank you to the lady who sent the chicken toys! I had tried daring him to give them toys to see if they enjoyed them whether they NEEDed them or not. I'm glad someone stepped up. Thank you, thank you, thank you. My area of interest (besides animal intelligence studies) is animal enrichment, especially in farm and zoo settings. I also follow the communication studies with Bunny the dog and Billi the cat. I love that Morgan is allowing his animals to have a more natural life. I was a little dismayed about his close-mindedness about toys when he seems so adamant about their mental (and of course physical) health in other areas. I hope the weird chickens enjoy your gifts and change some minds. I love Morgan's "One Bad Day" philosophy. I believe we are tasked with providing our food and zoo animals with the best treatment and the best possible life.
A chicken playground and a house covered in stickers…..your imagination knows no boundaries. And I love it! Definitely time for a mural on the chicken and duck coops. Look out Kansas. I’ve been inspired!
Hi Morgan, I know this will get buried under all the other comments, but I wanted to thank you as your videos partially cured my phobia for chickens. I started watching during COVID and I couldn’t even stand looking at the screen at first, even with the sounds turned off when the chickens were on screen. Then with little steps I could manage to watch and turn up the volume bit by bit. I am even progressing to watch chickens irl and walk up to them (as long as they’re walking away from me) instead of crying and running away. It has made my life a bit easier now I’m less afraid. Thank you again and I look forward to the upcoming videos ❤
Hi Morgan. You mentioned you were having probs getting water to the top of your pasture. YT chan "Gridlessness" was having a similar prob. They made a ram-jet pump. (I believe that is what it was called). It just works on the minimal water pressure that is available, and uses no electricity. If I remember correctly they built it from off the shelf PVC pipes and fittings, cheaply, quickly and easily. Hope this helps.
So happy you decided to keep the weird chickens, even adding some new ones, love the Pom Pom's on their cute little heads. The new water dishes look like they will work out nicely, and pretty clever your water tank design. All the animals look happy and healthy. Thanks for taking us along Morgan, see you soon.
We have a small flock of Silkies; I love watching them! There are 4 Silkies and 1 retired Easter Egger named Esther. Our Roo (a total jerk) is named Black Jack, and the 2 Silkie hen that came with him are Jill (light gray) and Diane (white). The third hen (Janet JacksHen) is the offspring of Jack and Jill. Love your flock and their house. I have a Little Tykes playhouse that I am modifying as a new coop for my Weird Chickens. 😊
Darn you this came up on my feed and I was just about to make breakfast. And the "click bait", the loves of my life and moment of Zen. Weird chickens. You are crafty Morgan. I am on to now buddy. 😆
Awe I'm so glad you got some more silkies ❤ we've got a white hen same as your new one and she's called Bo-peep, our blue hen is Violet ,buff hen is Lady Ella Bella n black hen is Layla,we had another black hen Juliet who passed away recently 😢we keep ours with polish bantam hens and gold top bantam hens 😊 and they get along great ♥️👋🇬🇧
I grew up with "weird chickens", they are great! Check out the whirlwind banties (spelling?) a great looking bird. My favorite girl was named butterball, a great mother and friend. She would follow me around the yard "talking" all the time.
Silkies are just sweet and adorable. They are so easy to handle. They are pleasant and relaxing to watch and listen to. I grew up with them and wish I had some now, but I am fearful that my bossy Guineas will peck them.
Drink cart: why not put a rain gutter underneath the exit with a valve ore the leaking nozzle? And on the front a gutter for feed? When filling just move the whole cart a couple of meters. (Kind of like the gooslings green feeder but on the cart. Make a figure 8 with a strap underneath the cart and top and bottom over the gutter to hold in place kinda backpack straps style ) Cows: why not put second line in doesn't have to be electified the visual might already help keeping the smaller cows in. Smaller patches with new grass but keep the older spot open for room to move? Weird chickens might be a nice crew to help you to turn your compost. If search youtube there are some nice tips to employ them for this labor. 😅 (Citygirl brain was thinking) The toys might be more of a winter thing, cause they are now busy foraging but in winter they dont need to investigate just Eat out of the bucket and get bored more easily?
This was so exciting, I've been waiting for some new weird chickens for so long. The thumbnail got me even more excited cause I saw different colors but this is still amazing news
How about Phyliss Diller, for your fuzzy new chicken. The Silkies have always reminded me of her, such a funny lady with a weird hairdo. Love the toys one of your subs sent. Have a Blessed day.
From marketer to marketer, Morgan I instantly saw what you did there with the „i send you Stickers back“ thingy ;) Morgan is planning big for the future, ya old lead hunter
Oh my goodness, Amanda Hugenkiss escaping reminded me of when I was a kid and the cows from the farm behind our house would ALWAYS escape. Nothing like waking up in the morning with a cow mooing outside your bedroom window 😂
This is so cool! I recently (a couple months ago) got a 6 month old blue silky hen, and she is the sweetest thing! Super cute to go with my sisters white silky rooster.
I didn't even realize it but your videos have been a weird sense of comfort for me the past few days. 😂 just watching the animals go do their own thing gives me zen feels.. 😂
Lovin' the intro weird chicken music!and at the end...sounded like music fRom things like Spanky & Friends Our Gang & old movies Well Being Morgan! and all your loved ones...2 & 4 legged!
Morgan, I have a confession to make: I LOVE the "weird" chickens; they're my moment of Zen. Thanx! Morgan, you're the Pied Piper for the birds. It looks like Joey and Amanda are an item. I think the rooster looks like Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the future (Doc for short) and one of the new pure white chickens could be Betty White and maybe other golden girls names for others as well if you're into it :D
The duck waterer looks interesting. Those stakes don't seem sturdy enough to handle the weight, though. Maybe an A-frame stand? It would still be easy to move. Love the weird chicken house. It would be cool if you would get polish chicken for your farm. They kind of have a weird chicken vibe too! The big tuft of feathers on the crown like a silkie. Beautiful birds. If i could have a farm, or just enough land.. i would have a Polish chicken for sure 💕
Oh my gosh! I sent a sticker for the coop and it looks like one of the chickens 🐓 The whiteish gray one with the fluffy head. With it was a sticker that said “ Stay Weird”. 😂 Thank you Morgan for the stickers in return. I love them! Not too sure about the baseball card though. 😂
I wouldn't say the chickens need toys, necessarily, but all animals need some kind of stimulation. Your chickens probably get plenty of stimulation just hunting for food/exploring. Toys might help prevent boredom in the winter, though!
I can't help but think of 80's rock bands when I see them. Like they all head bang behind closed doors. 😆
Glam Chawk😂
Hair metal chickens 🤘🐓😂
They're chickens. They always head bang when they peck
I was just a kid in the 80’s but what I do remember is big hair and lots of bright neon colors with acid wash jeans.
Oo, he should name the super fluffy white one Pat Benatar!!

This video just made me happy for whatever reason...just seeing all the animals including the new weird chickens. Just a zen moment.

The new rooster is definitely giving Doc Brown vibes from Back to the Future
I'm a city girl who originally came here because of beautiful Toby!! But now two years later, YOU and ALL your animals are my weekly shot of pure interest and enjoyment! Thank you, Morgan! Blessings to all!
Putting a layer of clear coat after you get the stickers placed will help them last longer. Love your content! Thanks for sharing.
I’m terrified that my first thought upon seeing the white silkie was “Ah, the Tumblr mascot.” Tumblr flashbacks aside, I love this flock of weird chickens! What lovely silly fluffballs!
Best edited homesteading UA-cam videos. Perfectly paced, humor, subtitles and not too fast and hectic or too slow. Great job.
It's not that chickens don't need enrichment, they do, but the ones that were sent to Morgen are most likely used for training chickens or for a cool trick to do with them. Or for other types of birds.
6:15 There's my sticker! Top Right corner! LOVE AND GREETINGS FROM JOSHUA TREE CALIFORNIA Y'ALL!

He was like an executive in marketing so that's why he's so good
Same thing happened to me. His channel made me go down the farm rabbit hole and I love it
Well said !
and he studied art in college ~
Yes @ Robby Mullarky! Name the white funky chicken Betty White! She was also an avid animal lover!
🕊🇨🇦🕊

That White silky rooster should be named doc brown from back to the future, the hair is on point 3:59

Lost a silkie rooster this spring to my boar. That pigs never harmed a chicken in two years, but the silkie rooster decided to just freeze up in the pen and let it happen. 😂
The cows remind me of my college dorm. There were many Amanda’s and Randy’s about 12-2am
You win the internet!!!😂😂😂
It's so interesting to see the 'normal' chicken with the silkies. Such an interesting match. Tiny raptors sign is adorable!

My sticker made it on the video!! You friggin rock Morgan!
Any rooster that breeds with "Captain Janeway" has to be "Commander Chakotay."
No lieutenant Paris
I love the weird chickens!!! Love their new toys!
"What'chu doing there Amanda?"
*Amanda stares back and breaks the fourth wall*
Great video, Morgan!
If they are like my parrot, they might need a little time to get comfortable with and figure out toys.
Classic, wholesome Gold Shaw Farm video. Thanks for everything you do, Morgan!
Captain Janeway! I love it! Purchased a White's Tree frog months ago, named her Janeway
a name suggestion for the rooster (can work for the hens to) is Small Fry
😂

Good morning Morgan! I have to say the weird chickens are my favorite. Im glad your going to hatch some and increase the flock?
Captain Janeway! I love it! 🥰
The chicken scaring itself at 20:27 is so cute!
Hi Morgan! My niece Brooklyn really wanted to suggest the Name Harold for your white wierd chicken that you were holding throughout this video. 😊
Harold and Maude.
I highly suggest you add another lower wire to your fence. If you have cattle getting out all the time, it is a fencing problem.
"I have regular chickens and weird chickens"
"The thing about the weird chickens is that... they are weird"
lol
The stickers look great Morgan! The Grateful Dead Marching bear looks great on your coup 😉
Darn you this came up on my feed and I was just about to make breakfast. And the "click bait", the loves of my life and moment of Zen. Weird chickens. You are crafty Morgan. I am on to now buddy. 😆

The twisted sister crew just showed up. That's another good thing about farming. You create new innovations.
I grew up with "weird chickens", they are great!
Check out the whirlwind banties (spelling?) a great looking bird. My favorite girl was named butterball, a great mother and friend. She would follow me around the yard "talking" all the time.
4:07 thats the wackiest looking chicken you got there, thats my favorite lol
My name suggestion for the weird rooster (with those frizzle feathers that stick straight up) would be Dilbert. Yup, that's a Dilbert.
I LOVE my Eglu Cube! I have the wheels, automatic door, and 9' run. So easy to move and clean.
Silkies are just sweet and adorable. They are so easy to handle. They are pleasant and relaxing to watch and listen to. I grew up with them and wish I had some now, but I am fearful that my bossy Guineas will peck them.
Thank you for the amazing video again. I've been watching them twice lately. Somehow it really comforts me.

Marilyn for new weird chicken, she's a bleach blonde like Marilyn Monroe...LOL Love the moment of Zen ❤
Your videos are awesome and that's why your channel is growing so fast. Take care 🥰🥰
I've been watching your channel for many years, I'm so happy that you are reaching 1M congratulations! You deserve it for all your hard work!
Lots of fun watching all the animals and I hope the chickens learn to love their toys
I love Captain Janeway
This was so exciting, I've been waiting for some new weird chickens for so long. The thumbnail got me even more excited cause I saw different colors but this is still amazing news
How about Phyliss Diller, for your fuzzy new chicken. The Silkies have always reminded me of her, such a funny lady with a weird hairdo. Love the toys one of your subs sent. Have a Blessed day.
My suggestion as well😂
I'm happy to see the older baby goslings not beating up on the younger baby goslings.
Love your additions to the weird chicken flock.
I keep forgetting to send our sticker! The stickers look so good on the weird chicken coop!
From marketer to marketer, Morgan I instantly saw what you did there with the „i send you Stickers back“ thingy ;) Morgan is planning big for the future, ya old lead hunter
The weird chicken are so beautiful! Aesthetics is so important. Love your farm!
The weird chickens are some of my favorite recurring characters lol
You gotta love the weird chickens! They are just so fun to look at.
Oh my goodness, Amanda Hugenkiss escaping reminded me of when I was a kid and the cows from the farm behind our house would ALWAYS escape. Nothing like waking up in the morning with a cow mooing outside your bedroom window 😂

Ted Lasso was such a good show. You are a man of taste sir. lol
Lovin' the intro weird chicken music!and at the end...sounded like music fRom things like Spanky & Friends Our Gang & old movies Well Being Morgan! and all your loved ones...2 & 4 legged!
I love your weird chickens. I would just sit there and watch them for a long time.💕💕
Thank you for sharing this with all with us!
The duck waterer looks great!
Didn't even realize you weren't at a mil subs definitely deserve it such an interesting man /farm with a heart of gold❤
They're soooo cute!❤ Pablo's really a glutton. Even the rodents aren't enough, he wants a buffet!! 😂 I wanna boop Ariel's nose
Love the long videos, pls keep upload longer videos.
I'm so glad to see Toby out and about❤️❤️
Alison is a voyager fan! Love captain Janeway 💙
I suggest on the white silkie that you trim the feathers around her eyes, makes her see better and will be less skittish.
Morgan, I have a confession to make: I LOVE the "weird" chickens; they're my moment of Zen. Thanx!
Morgan, you're the Pied Piper for the birds. It looks like Joey and Amanda are an item. Toby Dog looks so peaceful watching over his flocks. It looks like Runaway Red has found her happy place with the silkies.
These farm videos are more fun & entertaining than going to the movies.and its not all reruns.i bet a lot of people do this.i watch & drem about when i used to have chickens.
I have name suggestions for the almighty Allison: the weird chicken name giver! I think the rooster looks like Dr. Emmett Brown from Back to the future (Doc for short) and one of the new pure white chickens could be Betty White and maybe other golden girls names for others as well if you're into it :D
Nice
Great suggestions.
Like the Poultry Xylophone , and the chicken's reaction to it. Reminded my of the Toy-piano pecking Hen I once saw at a State Fair 🐔🎹🎶
I miss the older geese checking out the new babies. Thanks for the videos.
I thank you for taking care of these animals
I love the longer videos, they get me motivated!
if you have a "Captain Janeway" i think that requires a "Cmdr Chakotay" or "Chickotay" rather for the rooster
The duck waterer looks interesting. Those stakes don't seem sturdy enough to handle the weight, though. Maybe an A-frame stand? It would still be easy to move. Love the weird chicken house. The only thing I see that might need some adjustment is the ladder. They don't seem to like the metal rungs. Very slick. And they might get hard to climb in winter when they get icy. Maybe some stick-on stair tread? I'm trying to have an area for bantams. Bought 5 chicks (straight run) from TSC and raised them in the house. Two ended up black Frizzles, one Porcelain, and 2 red Cochins. Then put them in my small, grow-out pen, 2'x8'. But it isn't snake-proof. And it's small enough, the chickens can't run from the rat snake when it gets in there. I've been working on clearing an area for a bigger pen and coop for them. This morning found another dead from apparent snake attack. I'm down to one black Frizzle, a roo, and the Porcelain. I can't let them out with my other free-range chickens, as the roo is too big. Cuckoo Maran cross. But building a coop in 100 degree weather is a bit difficult. I would love your 40 degree drizzly day.
I love the omlet house and think its great that you can move it around on wheels.
White chicken name suggestion for Alison, Jean Harlow. It's so funny to see the cows running Abby away when she was eating their grass!
i get down right excited when i see the bebe birds & then didnt want the video to end ~
If you elevate the water tank a few feet, straighten the hose connection out or make it shorter and give it water pressure that should make it work better and allow more cups to be installed. To increase the pressure just continue to reduce your inner and outer diameter's until you reach a desirable pressure rate, or to he maximum pressure rating the hosing or piping can withstand. Best of luck I love the content. Only issue is this system will freeze at some point once its cold enough
It would be cool if you would get polish chicken for your farm. They kind of have a weird chicken vibe too! The big tuft of feathers on the crown like a silkie. Beautiful birds. If i could have a farm, or just enough land.. i would have a Polish chicken for sure 💕
Your chicken is called Captain Janeway? Love that.
Toby dog's little tail wags 🥺😍
I'm so glad that you respect the weirdness! They're charming and make us laugh just to look at them.
I really appreciated the lesson on why the birds could touch the wire!
You should name the frizzle feathered rooster Einstein 😂
I wouldn't say the chickens need toys, necessarily, but all animals need some kind of stimulation. Your chickens probably get plenty of stimulation just hunting for food/exploring. Toys might help prevent boredom in the winter, though!
That new weird chicken looks like a Fred Zappa to me lol
@0fficial-Goldshawfarm Nice try scammer.. very convincing🙄......
