Most drakes do and they are terribly social animals too... if the dukes not their ours would hang with our terrier. Just make sure in breeding season your ratios are right 3-4 ducks to drake otherwise duck die cause drakes become one minded for sex...
Quick PSA, trimming a birds wind will not hurt the bird if done right. That being said. Inspect the feathers and the wing before you do it. Trimming a blood feather can cause a bird to bleed out. Additionally, I have a rescue cockatiel who's original owner accidentally amputated half of his wing while attempting to trim it. So be careful and if you don't know what you are doing ask someone who does to show you how
You gotta pen your call ducks up like you would a guniea fowl or chicken for a few weeks before letting them free range. You got to have them establish a home base, because they will fly due to their small size and light weight. Having them be able to fly helps them avoid predators and being harassed by larger drakes since they are a smaller and more vulnerable duck than your average heavier and medium weight ducks.
I love watching Alison with the little birds. And I'm glad that Ralphie is so easy to pick out of a crowd. It will be fun to watch him find his place in the flock over time.
Welcome to the farm Ralph. He's adorable and it's good he's not timid. I was surprised Captain Janeway went all gangster on Ralph. I hadn't realized that the weird chickens could be so fierce.
Ralph is so cute 🥰 I’ve been thinking of adding call ducks to my little hobby farm - I’d love to see more of him. Just my two cents - I’ve found that unless raised together from very young, that different breeds never really bond well & always seem a little lonely. I hope you get at least a few more Call ducks.
I don't blame Ralphie at all, if I had to choose between trying to mix with the old cliques and having a new pond all to myself I know which I would choose!
Ralphie is such a handsome little duck with a lot of pluck, lol. Have to say he's pretty fearless, just gets in there, but also knows when to run for cover. Maybe you should get some more call ducks Morgan. Really enjoyed meeting Ralphie, I like his style. Thanks for taking us along, see you soon!
Ralphy is such a cutie. He's so chubby, and little I can't stand it! And I honestly love seeing Toby's personality come out when he's excited about some really yummy food. He's such a good boy, and Abby is such a sweet, patient girl.
Loved this vlog❣️Ralph is adorable, WTH happened in the weird chicken pen!?! Looks like the little guy is good with the flock he’s in now. What treat for the Large White Farm dog’s. ❤ and thank Allison for letting you film her with Ralph, she’s so tender with him. I know this is why she’s probably a great NP.
He is a cutie. ❤ It’s tough to raise a single call duck. Our bantam chickens begrudgingly tolerate the poor duck. Lots of extra attention and definitely watch for flying. They are excellent fliers.
I have never been so emotionally attached to a new animal on you farm so fast- and I share a name with Toby dog! I love Ralph so so much. Please keep us updated ❤❤❤
Wow, Morgan...what a great video introducing us to lil Ralphie. He is stinking adorable 😍 You did such an incredible job bringing him into your flock! Your videos truly give me so much joy, tge editing you do along with the music is outstanding ❤ Thank you!!!
He reminds me of my first experience with my three Bantoms. Never thought about small birds flying, just so used to my fat lazy chickens. First day i let them lose they ended up 40feet up an old maple tree. Thankfully they came back, and I can handle them just fine now.
A tip from my friend who's a vet tech: cutting the secondary feathers of the wing is more effective at grounding a bird than cutting the primary feathers. Most of the bird's lift comes from the secondary feathers, while the primaries are more important for steering and control.
After years of looking I finally fulfilled my dream of having Call ducks this year. We bought five and ended up with two drakes and three females, sadly my favorite one taught me the hard lesson that they could fly when one day she went on an adventure over our fence. I tried to retrieve her but it was getting dark and a neighbor of mine wanted to talk, by the time I could politely step away she was gone. The next day another female flew over a six foot tall fence, thankfully I got her back and everyone got a free feather trim. I can't say they mix well with our bigger ducks but they aren't rejected by them either. I think the bigger ducks are confused by these tiny baby ducks that aren't growing. They really seem to treat them like our chickens treat Bantams whenever we end up with one, confused by the eternal baby but protective of them...cause they're a baby. Anyways, good luck with Ralph, he certainly has that Call duck cuteness.
Clipping those wings definitely added to Ralph's life expectancy. Not knowing birds beyond ones kept in a house as pets, I was amazed to see the literal fluffy toddling examples of Zen swiftly attack Ralph. As one comic supervillain said, “one bad day reduces the sanest chicken (actually Joker says "human") alive to lunacy.😉 I actually had thought that the mystery animal in the carrier was going to be a new kind of weird chicken, but am happy to meet Ralph.
Next book..” Meet Ralphie the Micro Duck”..🥰❤️❤️❤️Morgan, I love your taste in music, throwing in some classical music with some 90s grunge is very cool🤣❤️
❤ what a sweet little Mr Ralph❤ you're such a loving soul to take on these little birds❤ thank you for another great video and a couple good laughs❤ which I need so thank you and God bless you❤ I was wondering when you feed the Ducks instead of making it one heaping pile I don't know it looks like it's two or three feet wide could you kind of dump it in a row a longer row so it's not as dense but yet it's spread out so that they can all line up and eat would that work❤ I know nothing about feeding this type of birds so I was just a thought because they all mob it half of them go over it and I think it would be cool to see them all kind of in a line you know just when you dump it walk a little bit and dump it just a thought and no way am I putting down what you do now you do it tremendously well and it was just a thought I had❤❤❤❤❤❤ Alison is adorable sitting there with Mr Ralph she is such a nice lady❤
Ralph seems pretty unbothered and has an air of getting on with things - I was so shocked when the weird chickens stomped him - I was yelling Help him! Help him! When Toby has something good in his food-dish he is not a sharer 😂
Omg Morgan....Ok now this was an AWESOME video!!! I have tears rolling down my face from laughing 😂😭😂😭😂...Your commentary is just PERFECT!!! Please do more videos about Ralph in the future!!!!
I hope Ralphie Boy gets befriended by the duck goose. He's got a touch of Lothario in him, a drake has to have confidence. Poor Ralphie Boy the Zen chickens went gangsta on him.
Wow! I was unsubscribed and I didn’t do it. Only good thing about that is I get to watch a bunch of videos to catch up. So glad I saw your shirt on my feed.
I just watched a whole video where you lectured that chickens don't need toys, and here you are in the Weird Chicken Yard with rainbow chicken toys. Did I miss a change of heart...?
Ralph has personality and is really cute. Looking forward to seeing more of him.
he needs to be in a lil house, he's pet material.
I auspect it will become a great farm mascot
Most drakes do and they are terribly social animals too... if the dukes not their ours would hang with our terrier. Just make sure in breeding season your ratios are right 3-4 ducks to drake otherwise duck die cause drakes become one minded for sex...
Considering his size and pluck maybe we should re-name him Tom Cruise.
I love how Allison is so attached to Ralf! ”wait how did the chicken egg get in there??” “Awe😢❤️”

Just make sure you get only feathers! It's only necessary until ducks used to area!

Not paying attention are u
Weird chicken reception of Ralph was more violent than zen 😆
Ralph's so tiny he makes the normal ducks look like geese!
Omg…. Weird chickens might move to second place as my favs…Ralph welcome to the farm!
I love watching Alison with the little birds. And I'm glad that Ralphie is so easy to pick out of a crowd. It will be fun to watch him find his place in the flock over time.
Morgan, that gloved hand is starting to become a character on the channel 😂❤
Welcome to the farm Ralph. He's adorable and it's good he's not timid. I was surprised Captain Janeway went all gangster on Ralph. I hadn't realized that the weird chickens could be so fierce.
How unique! The coloring is pretty with that bit of green.
Ralph became instantly my favorite duck! Before him it was the runner ducks, but this cheeky fella stole my heart! Greetings from Finland!
Ralph: “Quack quack, I is small duck”
Capt. Janeway and Mr. Frizzle: “And we took that personally.”
Ralph is so cute 🥰 I’ve been thinking of adding call ducks to my little hobby farm - I’d love to see more of him. Ralph is lovely and I hope he fits in and thrives!
I think Ralph might have found his love already, in Alison. The way he snuggled in and had cuddles. Hmm are house ducks possible?😂
Ralph is GORGEOUS 😍 what a handsome lil fella ❤️❤️❤️
Ralphy is such a cutie. He's so chubby, and little I can't stand it! And I honestly love seeing Toby's personality come out when he's excited about some really yummy food. He's such a good boy, and Abby is such a sweet, patient girl.
Toby is such a chill, stoic and calm dog, that really surprise me when he acts all fierce and macho like those moments with the beef. So funny XD

Awe, poor Ralph! 💕😂 He's gorgeous.
Great video! Be yourself and let it flow with no editing. That's called KEEPING IT REAL!
I think Allison likes him
He is adorable
That's one adorable little spunky dude.
He is a cutie. ❤ It’s tough to raise a single call duck. Our bantam chickens begrudgingly tolerate the poor duck. Lots of extra attention and definitely watch for flying. They are excellent fliers.
Omg! Great videos ! Love all your material! Thanks and God Bless.
Aw Ralph is a cute duck thanks for sharing can't wait for more videos with him how many times will you have to clip his wings?

He's adorable. Looking forward to watching more of Ralph.
I have never been so emotionally attached to a new animal on you farm so fast- and I share a name with Toby dog! I love Ralph so so much. Please keep us updated ❤❤❤

Ralph is adorable!! I can't wait to see more of Ralph in the future. 🤓🤓
This is one of my favorite videos! Ty, Morgan!❤❤❤
Ralph just wants to swim in the pond and fly. 🥺 He's adorable and very beautiful. The mix of white and green on his head. ❤ He's also tiny, wow.
I think Ralph is adorable. So little and beautiful colours. ❤ 🇨🇦
Morgan, I love the music you added for this video! ❤❤❤
He reminds me of my first experience with my three Bantoms.
Never thought about small birds flying, just so used to my fat lazy chickens.

Thankfully they came back, and I can handle them just fine now.
I really like Ralph! He’s a plucky duck 😊
nothing better in the morning than farm chores accompnied by mozart...wonderful!
Aww poor new kid. So glad to see that he eventually made it into the flock.
I absolutely love that the "call now!" clip you use has Zoot Suit Riot on it. 😂
Good one. I Liked the STP snippet; had a flashback.
I've never seen Ralph so happy when you leave him alone
Life is good on Gold Shaw Farm!
Allison is so stylish, I love her style. Welcome Ralph!!!!!! Poor Ralph, they laid into him like crazy, wow.

"Ralph the Micro Duck" sounds like the title of your next book
That has first day of school written all over it
Welcome to the farm Ralph!!
I love how Ralph looks at the camra the whole time you are talking.
Clipping those wings definitely added to Ralph's life expectancy. Quack! Poor little guy!
Can't help but think that the abilty to fly is what will keep him safe from the other birds.
Ralph you have a real friend in Alison and of course Morgan ❤
Next book..” Meet Ralphie the Micro Duck”..🥰❤️❤️❤️Morgan, I love your taste in music, throwing in some classical music with some 90s grunge is very cool🤣❤️
Toby's such a good boy.
What a great episode. I always love seeing Allison snuggling the animals.
Ralph is so tiny! But man is he cute!
Welcome Ralph!
I just finished watching the farm meeting then you posted the introduction to Ralph. Cool! 👍🏻

Allison cameos are worth at least 25k views. Keep popping her in
No moment of Zen for Ralph with the weird chickens....He is cute and sweet.
He is such a cute little guy great addition keep you're eye on him.
Glad to see you still have the piggy wiggies
Right on Ralphie the micro duck , looking forward for new adventures @ Gold Shaw farm 😂❤👍
What a cutie! And you even get to hold him! Lucky lol Wish my ducks would let me hold them😂
Ralph seems pretty unbothered and has an air of getting on with things - I was so shocked when the weird chickens stomped him - I was yelling Help him! Help him!
When Toby has something good in his food-dish he is not a sharer 😂
Ralph is the most precious thing I’ve ever seen.
haha that "tv ad" cracked me up and brought on a big wave of nostalgia.
Beef heart is so good. Especially roasted with stuffing.
A new book chapter: Ralphie's First Day
❤
Ralph...
LIKE THE DUCKLING IN LIBERTY MEADOWS?!
Fitting!
Hi, Ralph! I'm not surprised that Allison has taken to him.
Now you need to write a book about Ralphie coming to the Farm!
Ralphie ❤❤❤is definitely Allison approved😊
I think you should separate a female runner duck and other female duck to breed with him. I think the results would be interesting
I dont think Ralf is fast enough to catch a runner duck
@@catman19 😂😂😂
catman19😂😂😁😁
@@catman19😂 nah
You were not watching and all I could think was “That is NOT a moment of zen!” Poor guy.
He seemed pretty comfy with the ducks quickly, thankfully.
Good morning. Ralph is cool and I always love it when you film the ducks following you. That is special to me. Hope you have a great week. 💕💕
Ralph is certainly have a personality and seems a happy duck
Heart is actually a good cut of meat. Cleaned up and stewed up in a stew or soup, it's pretty tasty.
Yup. It's a darker meat, quite flavorful, so perfect for stews or as thinly cut topping for bread, etc. after slow cooking it
I❤️❤️. Clean it up, stuff it, braise it. Delicious!
OMG- Ralph is gorgeous!! 😍😍😍 I hope he finds his place soon, he’s my new favourite!! Is there a cuter duck?! No is the answer, no.
Looks like Ralph is doing Duck stuff okay now......Ralph is now my best Duck.....Thanks Morgan.....
Old Shoe🇺🇸
Ralph is really cute. His personality reminds me of our Appleyards. :)
Omg Morgan....Ok now this was an AWESOME video!!! I have tears rolling down my face from laughing 😂😭😂😭😂...Your commentary is just PERFECT!!! Please do more videos about Ralph in the future!!!!
❤ Welcome to GSF, Ralph. It looks like Allison is in love with Ralph. Maybe he should have female companions of his very own. ❤
Now you have a new pet. He is so cute. I hope he will do well.
I hope Ralphie Boy gets befriended by the duck goose. He's got a touch of Lothario in him, a drake has to have confidence. Poor Ralphie Boy the Zen chickens went gangsta on him.
Holly cow, Ralph is so cute! It seems like he doesn’t mind being held!
Omg I adore call ducks. So excited to see more of him. Hope he doesn't get bullied
Morgan, you are doing a great job with the music! Fun editing for delightful viewing. Thanks.
Oof makes me see the weird chickens more like rugged vikings chilling on their own but taking to arms with threat 💀🖤
I have exactly the same call duck; black pied drake. I hand raised him & love him very much 😊.
Wow! I was unsubscribed and I didn’t do it. Only good thing about that is I get to watch a bunch of videos to catch up. So glad I saw your shirt on my feed.
RALPH THE MENACE, HAHAHA, I LOVE HIM
I def need more Ralph content in my life, Hes def become my favorite animal on the far and so quick !
Thanks. I saw my first call-duck at a county fair this summer. Very cute.
I just watched a whole video where you lectured that chickens don't need toys, and here you are in the Weird Chicken Yard with rainbow chicken toys. Did I miss a change of heart...?
Thanks for sharing Morgan.
It's good to see one new breed of duck on the farm. Please bring more new animals even if just a pair we would love to see new animals.
Ralphie!!! He's very cute! You know who else is cute? Allison!!! I love you Allison!! I like the videos with you in them even if it briefly. ❤️
