There is also a nice place next to hydra you could show and named Nafplio, the capital of region Argolis, where there also many ancient cities with great monuments as Mycenae and Epidavros.

This is great to see as my father is from Hydra, and our second home is there. It's actually about 10 meters behind the trekking sign at 4:25.
My father's cousin is the Mayor of Hydra, and I have been going there all my life, I know the island and the locations very well, and I travel there multiple times every year.
It's a beautiful island, with many places to visit for tourists!
I also definitely recommend the boat ride around the island, that's become a yearly tradition for my family as it's so amazing.
If you plan on travelling to Hydra, please do! It's a fantastic place and there's so much to see. Also, there's beautiful water ;)
    Good luck!

I have been to Hydra many times! Try walking to either end of the island! But not in the heat of the day if you are there in high season! Kamini is just a 20 min walk…..incredibly beautiful! Great food and a little fun shopping too!

I don’t understand how the upbeat techno music or whatever it is fits with the magical spirit of Hydra. That was a mistake. Then you chose nice Greek music. Other than that techno disturbance, thank you for igniting nostalgia.

Do you have to book the ferry ⛴️ tickets 🎫 way in advance or can you reserve the tickets from Athens to Hydra a day or two in advance? Also, do you need to bring a passport on the ⛴️ ferry?

It is actually quite easy. You book your plane ticket to Athens, get a taxi or the subway to the port of Piraeus, board a ferry and 90 minutes later you will be there!
September is aImazing in Greece. Weather is usually sunny, around 30°C and the sea is calm. Also less crowded that August.

Also to mention the old fashioned mansions were built by Albanian pirates who then turned merchants and wanted to flaunt off their wealth, but also it was also inhabited by Greeks and Albanians until a past disease wiped out all inhabitants and then the Greeks settled again in hydra and made it the way it is today, true beauty 🇦🇱 🇬🇷

Nonsense. They are treated quite well in fact. Ofcourse they also can be used as transport. This is literally part of integral life. Next thing you are going to say we can't milk goat, sheep and cows, can't ride mules, donkeys and horses, and everything that came to be since the dawn of human civilization 12.000 years ago when the agricultural revolution started
