This Info helps me a lot. I’ll admit I’m completely clueless on where to even start looking or what to look for. I always really appreciated the sport. It’s incredible to watch experienced fisherman make it look easy. Now I have a better idea on what to look for! Thanks!
Plastic reels are made for children. Like training wheels. Hardy makes the best reels. I would have one if you could turn the clicker off. Screech like an owl. Singing reels attrach anglers. Sage 4280 reels have a silent mode. Couple hundred fish, the clicker wears out. Hundred more drag stops working all together. Nothing is made to last. Made to sell
Total noob questions: will a mid-tier, cast aluminum reel work for 8wt rod for bass, larger trout, occasional large pike, and moby dick jr? Any brand/model suggestions? Context: I am old, retiree trying to get back on-shore after my cancer treatments end soon. This kit is last one and a treat for me - my kids don’t fish. 🥺
Thanks for being here and best of luck. Please send all questions directly to the shop via e-mail or better yet, give them a call. They will be happy to help.
Instant like when you said "Memaw!" Hey, I have the Crosswater/Path outfit. Trying to upgrade to a machine aluminum made reel. My budget is hovering around $600. I've been looking into a few reels. I'm trying to narrow it down. Hydro 3, Rise, Nautilus XM, etc... The Ross Animus (not sure if I spelled that right) is cute not sure if it's in black though.
Again, please send your questions over to the shop. They will be happy to help out if they can. Please know that they are currently closed though and it may be some time before they can get back to you. Thanks. admin@madriveroutfitters.com the only way to communicate right now.
Please send any questions over to the shop at admin@madriveroutfitters.com and they will help you there. Can also call Ryan directly at the shop as well.
They sell them at the shop right? They don't sell things they don't like so let's start there. The guys and gals from the shop don't monitor here. It's easy to send them an e-mail or call directly and they will be happy to answer any and all questions that you might have. Thanks.
Your Memaw is proud of you 👌 Thanks for watching friends!
Ryan are you familiar with the Piscifun fly reels and if so I'd appreciate your thoughts on them.
Has this guy got a side hustle as a carpenter 😂
Haha, his pencil game is pretty strong.
Dang I was just about to say, bro has two pencils! Must lose them a lot too while doing his carpentry, sheesh.

@@Madriveroutfitters duly noted, I'll definitely reach out soon. Thanks for quick reply. 👍
Orvis Battenkill Click & Pawl for trout. Excellent reel and will probably outlast it’s owner.
Both true statements. Thanks for watching.
Too noisy.
What's your professional opinion about Ross Reels?? Be honest

@@Madriveroutfitters yup! Email sent, thank you!!
i am new to fly fishing i have a 7wt rod but why does the reel say 7/8 does it mean i can use it for both sizes?
Correct! Any further questions feel free to contact the shop directly and they will be happy to help. Thanks.
Can you do a review on the Hardy MTX-S?
Sorry but we don't carry Hardy and don't know anything about them.
That is a serious drawback on your side then. Hardy kit is awesome and their reels are outstanding. They also invented large arbour reels.
Agreed. A second hand hardy is better than any 2 orvis or sage. Tight lines.
I can somewhat understand blowing a grand on a rod but a Reel??? 1000$ for looks??
To each is own. Plenty of folks do and nothing wrong with that.
...im broke (cause of tibor)
We know the feeling.
y’all didn’t actually say a dollar amount throughout the entire video
That's because the links to the products are in the video information below. The $ amounts are on our website.
