Nigeria needs infrastructure. One beach at he expense of the country? How do we think as a people. The owners of the business were aware that the road would be built.

Do you know the number of Nigerians that lost their job there after the demolition?
Is government going going to provide job for them?

@@Southernview3k Do you know how many Nigerians are employed and would be employed while this highway construction is going on? Both direct and indirect jobs along that route? Do you know how many Businesses will spring up all the way? All sorts of joints, petrol station, motels, hotels, resorts, new real estates developments etc ? Leta not be myopic cos the advantage far outweigh the disadvantages. Landmark never owned the land, or can you build something on nothing?

@@Southernview3k Who owns the shoreline? Who gave them approval to do business on that beach front? Can you build something on nothing? For example you get to a land you own one day, and find some people using it already without your permission. Will you let go becos they invested on the land?

Asides Victoria Island, there are beaches all along the Lekki peninsula upto Ibeju Lekki. From Marwa beach, Elegushi beach, Atican beach, Alfa beach, Baracudda, Lacapaigne tropicana, Eleko Beach etc Badagry also have beaches like Suntan beach as well as other island beaches like Takwa bay, Ilashe beach, Light house beach etc. The likes of Landmark and Good beach were heavily invested in and developed although private owned.

Does it mean that the beaches cannot come back to life after the right of way for the Lagos- Calabar coastal road is earmarked ? I learnt their will be bypass of the submarine cables and IPP Projects along the right of way , are these 2 areas not good enough to sight beaches? I watched Dave Umahi on Arise tv where he posited that the beach owners can construct a overhead bridge?, maybe that might be expensive for the owners to grapple with. I saw one coastal road constructed in Mumbai, India; it was an overpass where structures are on the beach front; maybe that might be too expensive for government and the cost benefits of this is not worthwhile! It is well well done job!
