I can't stop watching these videos. I'm 30 and I've never been on a boat or left the USA, but I can't stop watching and imagining the insane wealth required to upkeep this luxury.
You can try to work for a while on one, guess that you have to learn some skills wanted to get a job there, but that also means you have to like living in cramped spaces tight upon others, and stay without some of the habits you have today like surfing and stream on the internet, because the internet out on the sea isn't fast and cost like a small house for 5 years and have low bandwidth, and you have to try to be invisible a big part of the time, "to work but not to be seen" , so maybe not meet those "interresting people" or "enjoying the luxury and be in the glamour" but you would go to interresting places and get nice experiences I guess.
The fascinating thing about a yacht is that you can recreate one on land. Just dig a hole, make a fire and consistently throw money in it, oh and I forgot you have to be wearing deck shoes.
Super yachts have two main features; exclusive privacy and self direction (choosing where to go). If you are not a public figure and don’t need the privacy, and you are willing to choose from a list of available destinations, you can have a great alternative for not much money. Cruise ship yachts like the Royal Clipper and the Wind Surf are wonderful for casual sailing and finding congenial company. I have crossed the Atlantic twice on the Wind Surf, and I don’t think that I would prefer to do so on a super yacht even if price were no object.
the upkeeping of wealth is one reason why over 95% those who win the lottery and do the lump sum go bankrupt in 3 years. it is why most pro atheletes who get millions go bankrupt in just a year or two as well. unless you have decades of building up wealth you have no idea how to maintain it.

What was done, the way the islanders were treated, all of the issues that have come to light afterwards... America shouldn’t have done the testing, it wasn’t necessary, and the way we handled everything is a shame. I know as soon as I say this, some Americans are going to scream traitor at me. Yes it was war, well at the very start, briefly, and yes, testing was necessary, but tests were already done in the desert underground as well as in the ocean. I fail to see the need for more ground level testing but I’m not in that field. Sorry bud, my apologies if I offended you or anyone else.

Of all the boats you showed I would easily take the one that was built to look nostalgic (old). It has the kind of class that none of the others exude. It says "maritime", not space-age. If I had the means I would do the same, but even a bit more classic than that, maybe 1930's to 40's with endless woodwork.
"Fly Me To The Moon" is just beautiful. Even though it isnt an actual classic yacht, I would say it is the most beautiful yacht there. Im a huge fan of classic yachts/classic styled yachts.

Billionaires are not stupid people, otherwise they wont be billionaires. People joins clubs, because they are other billionaires on it. By being in same club with them, you do business with other billionaires, not with casual workers.
@@deadend2023 It's the same with some var brands and their special editions, you can't buy one if you don't have 5+ of that brand allready, then they put out a ultra rare edition of that special edition were only thoose with the first special edition can put a name on a list there they wish they can get one of these but only a few of them gets selected to get one, but the ultra rare edition of that special edition isn't the big thing here, the things is that in that price of the car you have special events for thoose who have one, events were they pick up that car in special trailers or transport it even in aeroplanes and put it up with mechanics that adjust the car for that special track, but the trackdays isn't the point either it's that thoose owners gets to meet för a few days on secret locations and stay in one of the worlds highest ranked top notch hotell with the best chefs in the world and you can meet the other billionairs and do business, you can't join you got to walk on the ladder of importance and get different invitations on the way untill you get the ultimate stage and gets the ultimate invitation, thats "the offer you can't refuse". Guess it has always been like that, all over the world and in different cultures and whatever society you wants to enter into it's not up to yourself it's if they want you there, but I guess thats how many things work in the ordinary word, you can't join the most popular peoples gång in school if they don't want to hang with you, you don't get invited to partys if your not popular, etc it's a habit thats been there since forever in history I guess, no matter who you want to hang with have to think it's an good idea and want you there.
Thank you for giving us these videos. I always like the "dock walk" style videos. Like this one. Especially if you see yachts that don't really show up on the sales/charter sites. The not so well known gems. :) If you're can manage the timing to see bigger boats coming into port, those clips are fun too!
There are quite a number of less ostentatious yacht clubs in the US where you not only need to know somebody to get on the list of prospective members but then have to wait for someone to die for a membership to come open. FWIW, these clubs often put on some excellent sailing regattas that I have thoroughly enjoyed even if we are just the entertainment.

I was very fortunate to attend a cocktail party with the handing over of the America's cup. Met Prince Albert. The club those days were on the other side of the marina.
Most clubs, whether they are sailing or other you need to be “introduced” and sponsored. In Monaco, the YCM is not that hard to join. However to join the Monaco Automobile Club IS VERY DIFFICULT to get invited to.
3 Questions: 1. In the event the owner and their family is on board, if two members of the family have contradicting demands is there a hierarchy as to who’s demand is fulfilled? Such as, do not tell my wife I have a mistress on board, and she asks who the code refers to (the code for the mistress). 2. What is the proper relationship owners should have with their crew and what are the boundaries that must be respected? (Relationship as in friendship, boss/employee, servant, possibly romantic, .etc.). 3. What kind of rights do employees have while working among the boat such as privacy, legal, safety, and what do you wish would change about them?
I found the part over the tech very interesting. That makes perfect sense that it would be outdated by the time a yacht is finished. Great point to bring out.
The most exclusive yacht club is the Royal Yacht Squadron in England less than 500 members Prince Philip the Queens husband is the Admiral of it but Monoco is as well.

The funniest thing I have seen was in Arizona. I was doing some work on the south side of Phoenix in a town called Goodyear, and I happened upon the Goodyear yacht club. I have friends with bigger ponds on their property that the entirety of this place. Not to mention that Phoenix is in the middle of a desert. I almost fell over laughing.

Her daughter Stepahnie was in the car to and she survived the crash, what happened is a mystery and I don't think that a seizure is actually confirmed as a cause, as far as I know it still is a mystery, some people say her daughter was driving but I think it was never completely solved. Not sure if the family was already bit crazy before the crash but they certainly became it after

A 10 year old Crestron system is not outdated. You can make changes to the software and the graphics without changing all of the hardware. I’m a large Crestron dealer and been doing it for 25 years.
That 1991 yacht's owner might be a water sign, they put sentimental value and stick to one. (Of course it depends on the person but most of the time it's the water sign people who are sentimental and clings to old things.)

Loved the intro. In your previous video when you referred to volume and pointed out SeaWalk I thought, that's 'Lady Christine' I remember reading the write-up in Yachts in 2009 or there about and really liked the split-deck interior. Big improvement obvious from the stern refit.
You've touched on this topic briefly in another video. I believe it was the video about the 1st of the 2 videos about the Young Turks incomplete coverage about yacht ownership. Yacht registration. The flag I believe that you were asking about is Marshall Islands which is U.S. territory of sorts. I actually work with a number of people who are from the Marshall Islands. Anyway, I picked up last months issue of Boat International and in it was an article about movers and shakers in the yacht industry. The owner of the NBA Houston Rockets franchise introduced legislation for American yacht owners to display the American flag on their yachts which was granted. I was under the impression that the flag of convenience began in the U.S. and it was more of a tax diversion for yacht owners(American or not) to register their yachts in more tax favorable locales(Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Bahamas, Bermuda, Malta, Marshall Islands) etc. The owner of M/Y Limitless is an American and it is the largest American registered yacht. I'm slightly confused by the legislation that was passed in 2018 and being that I've seen images of m/y Limitless with the American flag on it. The article stated for a half century, American yacht owners weren't allowed to display the flag on their yachts. Maybe you can explain this better.

Love your channel, you are very informative as these boats are of interest to a lot of people like me. In regard to the yacht club, it is classic when you earn a higher wage to be invited to a more prestigious or exclusive club whether it be Masons or Golf, etc. To reference Grouches Marx's quote though is perhaps the Paradox that proves even the wealthiest are as insecure as the poorest and no one is actually bothered about the club itself, just the Kudos they think belonging brings. If you are really that eager to get in, ask yourself why? I too would never join a club that would welcome a tosser like me!
That old boat that you were talking about it was probably made with newer materials and better quality back in the day like carbon fiber make it lighter and giving an old look feeling that would be the only plus about having a boat like that I think maybe I'm wrong
lex mark you actually don’t want to build a boat out of carbon fiber, weight is stability (to a certain extent) on boats, unless you’re a fast boat on flat water and she is neither. I have done a few refits of older boats and it’s almost always cost as much as building new so you are correct about everything else.

Its Prince Reinier as in 'Reindeer' without the D. 05.14 It's Siran as Iran with an S' . She also had the extra three windows added on the bridge deck. Keep up the great vids, do research beforehand.

Loved the intro. In your previous video when you referred to volume and pointed out SeaWalk I thought, that's 'Lady Christine' I remember reading the write-up in Yachts in 2009 or there about and really liked the split-deck interior. Big improvement obvious from the stern refit.

Does Monaco and the entire south of France ever see much “weather”?
I’m intrigued to know what steps are taken re mooring etc if there’s a big blow.
No special steps are taken unless Monica Lewinsky shows up in Monaco. That's a "Big Blow" that requires extra measures.
You've touched on this topic briefly in another video. I believe it was the video about the 1st of the 2 videos about the Young Turks incomplete coverage about yacht ownership. Yacht registration. The flag I believe that you were asking about is Marshall Islands which is U.S. territory of sorts. I actually work with a number of people who are from the Marshall Islands. Anyway, I picked up last months issue of Boat International and in it was an article about movers and shakers in the yacht industry. The owner of the NBA Houston Rockets franchise introduced legislation for American yacht owners to display the American flag on their yachts which was granted. I was under the impression that the flag of convenience began in the U.S. and it was more of a tax diversion for yacht owners(American or not) to register their yachts in more tax favorable locales(Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Bahamas, Bermuda, Malta, Marshall Islands) etc. The owner of M/Y Limitless is an American and it is the largest American registered yacht. I'm slightly confused by the legislation that was passed in 2018 and being that I've seen images of m/y Limitless with the American flag on it. The article stated for a half century, American yacht owners weren't allowed to display the flag on their yachts. Maybe you can explain this better.
A good top speed along the F1 track would be interesting, see how fast (or rather slow) you are compared to those pros

Love your channel, you are very informative as these boats are of interest to a lot of people like me. In regard to the yacht club, it is classic when you earn a higher wage to be invited to a more prestigious or exclusive club whether it be Masons or Golf, etc. To reference Grouches Marx's quote though is perhaps the Paradox that proves even the wealthiest are as insecure as the poorest and no one is actually bothered about the club itself, just the Kudos they think belonging brings. If you are really that eager to get in, ask yourself why? I too would never join a club that would welcome a tosser like me!
I do believe -not 100% sure- that I saw a yacht named "Fly Me To The Moon" in the Bahamas in the 1990s so this could be a replica.

That old boat that you were talking about it was probably made with newer materials and better quality back in the day like carbon fiber make it lighter and giving an old look feeling that would be the only plus about having a boat like that I think maybe I'm wrong
lex mark you actually don’t want to build a boat out of carbon fiber, weight is stability (to a certain extent) on boats, unless you’re a fast boat on flat water and she is neither. I have done a few refits of older boats and it’s almost always cost as much as building new so you are correct about everything else.

@01:36 It's Marshall Islands flag. My Way used to be Ralf Schumachers, the F1 drivers' boat. 01:57 It's not 'Emaels', it's pronounced Aamels like in 'far'. Its Prince Reinier as in 'Reindeer' without the D. 05.14 It's Siran as Iran with an S' . She also had the extra three windows added on the bridge deck. Keep up the great vids, do research beforehand.
I knew where the flag was from, I was asking people watching if they knew. As for pronunciation I don’t think I was too far off.
