nah, they just changed it to more "educational" but ectually they are just repeating the same things they said years ago xD some basic facts about orcas, some jumpings, slide outs and thats it. but at least this time they are not lying, just not saying all the truth behind it. 😅
@@Barbieinawheelchair nope, they specifically announced they were ending “theatrical” shows around 2019-2020 and from what I see this is still “theatrical”
@@fiyamya9967very unfortunate, I knew about the event but havent been to a show in ages. I liked the shows back then tho way more when the trainers swam with the orca’s, but safety first ofcourse. I always wondered why they didnt have something to take out/kill the orca in case they attack the trainer. It happend only 3 times in 20 years, but every time they dragged the body several minutes in the pool while they drowned. Only throwing food in the pool and trying to distract it. I think the deaths could’ve been prevented and maybe we still could’ve had those beautifull shows like before.
@@sten287Yes I agree with you. How did they not have a backup plan in case something like this happens? Like have a person jump in and use a transquilizer or something? I understand killing the orca is out of question seeing that they are probably a million worth property to the company with how much time it takes to train one. But still seems very reckless.
@@SamS.7598these animals are 6,000 to 13,000lbs, a tranquilizer would be very expensive and seaworld would rather buy more roller coasters. Plus with a bite force of 19,000lbs psi by the time a tranquilizer kicks in you’re likely already dead.
Two questions: 1. Why are the Orcas’ dorsal fins all floppy during the show? 2. What’s the name of the song that plays at the start of the show? I find it really catchy
1. The dorsal fin is made of connective tissue and often bends or weakens if left out of the surface for too long. For example, stranded orcas tend to start to develop a curved dorsal fin and orcas in human care spend more time at the surface than wild orcas. Most adult male orcas in human care have curved dorsal fins, while very few wild male orcas also have curved dorsal fins. This is purely aesthetic and doesn't reflect their physical or mental health. 2. It's a SeaWorld soundtrack called One Song. This is a newer version of it which is unreleased but you can find the older version on music apps like Spotify, Apple Music, and UA-cam.
I went to Seaworld Orlando in 1978 when I was a little kid. I'm 55 now and I will be back this summer. Can't wait to experience the park as an adult and relive so many great childhood memories. I remember watching Shamu do his show and that has always been my fondest childhood memory.
they never really took them out. basically they just stopped breeding the orcas so they’re going to continue shows with the ones they have and stop once they die.
@@Echobelugashame on SeaWorld. It's 2024, and you continue this barbaric, abusive practice. Especially with the knowledge of how intelligent these creatures are now.
Isn't that entertaining for you. And Corky only has to live in a filthy, concrete tank she can barely turn around in, become ill, abused, who's spirit and will had to broken, a mammal more intelligent than you, all to wave "hello!". 😡
I believe it has to do with the pressure underwater. So for wild orcas their fins stay straight because the water is holding them like that but for captive orcas they’re more bent or floppy because they spend more time out of water.
they are too sweet for this messed up world
Just wait till you find out about what wild orcas do
I thought they were supposed to phase out Orca shows in 2019??

They stopped their breeding program. That means when these whales die then they will have no shows
Cry about it

Is there a rule that the trainers can’t swim with the orca’s anymore? If yes, since when?
yes because a worker was killed by one in 2010

As the whales have been treated like dog poop for their whole lives they have lashed out and eaten many trainers, there’s a good doc on NF about it.
Looks like Nalani loves draws on the glass for her, but still sure that the show was fun
Bonkers

so they are back ? i thought they took them out ?

Do they still do this
Still activities in this park?
Sadly yeah

This show is still on, we just recently in 2024 experienced it.
How nice for you. No problem that Corky, a 60 year old Killer Whale has brutally been tortured for your enjoyment? Don't forget to bring the kids!
Imagine being an Orca and listening to this awful music every single day.
They have no choice sadly
I'm so impressed with how much airtime the boys get when they jump! Great show!!
Thank you! They can really catch air if they try!

After watching this I don’t know if Katina is back 100% April 2024 .she has a lot more energy in this show . 😮
Awesome and marvelous
Not it isn't
This makes me so sad 😢
I wonder why are their fins all bent..
I think it’s because captive orcas spend more time at the surface so the warm air causes the tissue in the fin to bend
It's still unknown why many captive orcas have bent dorsal fins. Some speculate that its from inactivity or even depression, but it's not known
@@bajorekjonit not unknown
