Could you tell me please, with this type of window is it possible to alter the position of the window that swings out? Once closed it needs to be shifted a cm towards the handle side of the frame coz when it closes water seeps in at the corners.

Yes but what does right handed and left handed mean in terms of the window ??? Is this even for top hung or sude hung windows???? Give us a ****** clue.

Yes will fit both top hung or side hung windows
side hung windows should only ever use either the 12 inch length or 16 inch length as they both have n additional metal bar on them to act as a cantilever for the weight of the glass
the top hung window can be fitted with all the size ranges
the rule is you replace the existing size of the hinge with the same size

Yes they can be adjusted slightly if you look at all friction hinges you will see two slotted fixing screw holes and one round fixing screw hole both on the part that fixes to the frame and also the part that fixes to the opening sash. if you remove the fixing screw from the round hole only you can then knock the opener over a couple of mm (N:B if you do not have a plastic headed mallet put a block of wood on the edge of the sash before hitting it with an hammer) by doing both the sash and frame screws you can achieve approx 4-5mm movement. However this is all assuming that the sash has not already been moved to the end of it's travel or more likely already moved to the end over time. If this is the case you may need to remove the slotted screws and drill new holes ensuring they go into freh material otherwise they will simply pull back into the same places. This is not difficult but it does need a practical approach. Lastly never take all the screws out without someone supporting the weight otherwise it will all come crashing down. Regards Allan
