The one who tries to do everything
One teacher saw me doing everything for my group and struggling to get them to listen and pulled me aside to tell me I would be graded separately. So sometimes theirs a light at the end of the tunnel
May yeah my teacher saw the same thing but then saw my groupmate look something up and blamed me???? She then deducted points from me even though only one of them worked good the 2 other ones were freeloaders

May I fucking know I reported them and I got the WORST grade like dafuk? We all presented I presented the most nailed my voice volume and pronunciation (it was about Roman art or some bs like that) I did the most work my slides (I had the most) were perfect even made animations of an animated me telling stuff and bs like that. Also did I mention I’m 14 and this was during exams? I did all of that BS because my presentations always have been something to wow about and I keep ALL of them I usually also made my own drawings of the project (this time it was a temple and I spent 5 hours to make it on paper and remade it digitally after I scanned it) I did all of this and the bitch barely made me pass. Told me it was tacky whilst congratulating people and laughing at a dude that put in applauses and register noises like the ka ching noise I was outraged but I let it slide almost failed the year because of it

I personally relate to the Leader. When we had Group projects I would become the leader AUTOMATICALLY because there's a bunch of doofuses in my class.

And one time my group of five (including me) stuck me with writing all the notes (that were being presented on the projector) and my notes used pictures and only I could read them.

There is two roles missing. The first being the “I wanna help” person. This is the role that is taken when the group has multiple artistic and/or leaders in the group, then one of them is pushed out of any role (including speaking). This makes this person super anxious because they are not allowed in any role and no choice but to sit back, also makes a lot of push back against the other members.
I only know about this first role because I am typically a leader or artistic type of group project member. Now, this role I was able to ID is because in one class I actually had a super controlling group that took up every task, including the girl making the presentation being the one to present. I literally had no job, not even research. I was so anxious, I literally did research anyway, had my team look at what I had to contribute and added it to the side (which they didn’t use).
Now the second role you forgot was the “Yes sir”/“soldier” role. This is the member in the group that does everything the leader says.
I ID this role to this one class where everyone got into pairs and had to work in class for it. I took charge since the other member didn’t have anything to properly contribute and I practically ordered him around during each project (all five projects for the whole year). Honestly, it was a surprisingly refreshing experience to have someone who did everything you say, even though I am certain he knew the teacher was keeping a close eye on the class and didn’t want to be given a zero for the projects and automatically fail the course. Idk, we worked well together and always got A’s.

actually she missed three, another one is the "nerdy" person. This person is very much a nerd and wants to try to do the project as best as possible and a ton of research that they might already know. This person also hates "clueless" people because they want to get everyone involved and get as many ideas as possible which normally ends in them dragging the answers out of clueless people when their obviously trying not to participate. This person can be mistaken as the leader if the group is full of lazy people but isn't the leader because they are just trying to get everyone to participate and put in effort but it never works because not even the "yes sir" people will listen!
...I'm the nerdy person... The most prevalent time I can think of how I have used this role is this one time, (not a group project exactly but like a group class work/experiment) in my science class. It was pick your own group but I had no friends and was quickly the last person left and the teacher had to assign me to a group. The group he assigned me with didn't want to do any work and just steal my answers since they knew I was that kid. The problem was I physically needed other people to the the experiment portion. So I ended up assigning them the easy parts of the experiment and when it came to writing the answers, they were asking me for the answers and I was not having it that day so I was said, "well what did you get?" and when they said nothing I just said, "ok then I'll help you walk through the process to get the answers." They weren't happy about that but the look on their face was priceless!
I relate to the first one,
in one project we had to make a language and write a short story in that language, we also had to make a short presentation on mythology. I was really interested in the project since I really like mythology. anyway, we had a week to do the assignment and all the girls in the group except me were besties and had each other's phone numbers and stuff. also, let me mention we would only get 2 days in school to spend on the project. the rest we would have to do at home or whatever. at first, it was normal, I came up with the story. one girl had to come up with a language, another had to translate the story to the made-up language and make the presentation. then there was the stereotypical speaker. I came up with this plan. But behold the surprise when the next to next day I ask them how the project is going and they say that they had come up with a whole other plan! I asked them what it and they said that I shouldn't worry about and kept ignoring me. I didn't bother since this was out of my hand and did my whole project in case they did nothing... and that's what happened. I ended up having to do the whole thing and they had to do just sit and see. I didn't have the energy to confront them after so I told the teacher... and they had to do extra work and still would have to get less than 80% of the marks...

Thats me re doing everyones work because i thought they got it damn handled and I was lookin at ma memes. So when i finish it i also be the speaker cuz turns out all my group did was make up stuff every time
I had a science project (about vision) that I had to do during the christmas holidays, but I ended up doing it the night before I had to give it in AND also on the night of the day we had to give it in.
Fortunately, we were allowed to give it in the day after it was originally due!
The result of my project?
I got an A+ and the highest note within the three grade six classes.

The “voluntary speaker “is actually a synonym for “the worst speaker”. Because they literally did nothing, they have no idea what the project about and do the following:
a) stutter and mumble
b) maintain absolutely no eye contact with the audience because they are constantly staring at the board
c) mix up and mess up words (cause they did nothing and have no idea what is written)
d) speak with no confidence and a monotone voice
I am honestly too familiar with these people because I have them in almost every group :^D

At my elementary school I was always ”the boss” of the project, did most of the work and so on, but when I went to secondary school and 90% new classmates, only my neighbour and her friend as my new friends, they didn’t really listen to my opinions and whenever I suggested somethinh related to the project, they’re look at me for a second and just kept doing what they were doing. They didn’t tell me what they were doing so I couldn’t even help and this happened with every project and then they’re tell me that I never do anything in the group. Thanks.

I just want to open a discussion here:
I also have to be the one to do most of the work in a group project a lot of the time, but I’ve noticed in myself that I give the work to myself because I need to. And the other groups members are too shy to say anything. So I put the workload on myself because I think everyone just dumped it one me, but in reality, I did it to myself but I blame it on my group members. Does anyone else think this? Let me know!
SAME! I used to be like "Whelp I did all of the work and no one even tried. Like what is this?!" but I just am used to being top of my class and working with students who were on a lower level because teachers thought "If I put this advanced kid with this lower level kid, the lower level kid will be helped" (cause that totally makes sense:/). So I would just assume no one would know how to do anything and just do it myself. Now I am at the point where I get assigned a group and I just kinda start working by myself out of habit and then like five minutes later I look up and start talking to them. I try not to blame people for me just taking all the work but there are some people who do not want to do anything and I just find it harder to tell the difference now (especially when its with friends)
I did. My group members were procrastinators.. there were only the 3 of us. I would constantly rush them to do the work when the deadline got nearer. It was an assignment where we had to make a roleplay vid and a report on depression.. i did the video editing and most of the rest of the report.. i shouted at them and they said "chill" i was so pissed i left the whatsapp groupchat
I once did that as well, but it turns out I should keep doing that because even when I try not to do that, works gets piled up on the side with no one coming to the aided the work

About the part in the beginning, how someone usually ends up doing more work, but everyone gets equal credit for it? Yeah, I have a story.
So two of my friends are in the same English class (I have art that period, so I was told all of this by one of them). They were assigned to work together on a project that was due at the end of the quarter. So, friend A asked me to help with the project, I said sure, and started helping her get the slides and information together. Keep in mind that friend B had done none of her part of the project, and left friend A to finish it. Anyway, we finish working on it, go to bed, and go to school the next day, when they were presenting it to their class. According to friend A, friend B had put her name on almost all of the slides except for 2, and took the credit for them. Oh, and in my school, if there's a group project, normally the group members are graded separately. Naturally, friend A was pissed, so after school the next day (we both had to stay after for something) she and I went to the English teacher, and friend A told her that she did all the work, friend B just put her name on everything. The teacher was upset by this and fixed friend A's grade, bringing it from a 75 to a 90. She also lowered friend B's grade, though I don't know what it was, and gave her a detention for it. Tbh, she kind of deserved it, she always pulls stunts like this, and normally people don't call her out on it because they don't want to seem rude and unlikable.

In my group projects, I was the leader cause im the only one who did work, I'm the artsy one because I'm usually the best in my group (I'm not even good) and I'm the speaker cause everyone else in the group is quiet. So that's why whenever I'm given the option to work alone, I take that chance.

From what u said I realise that there's not much difference between the amount of work u do in both cases
I usually do projects with my friend who sits at my table (I’m a middle schooler) and we’ll both tackle out own chunk of work, criticizing each other, sharing ideas, and all and all, being good group members to each other,. It’s nice I got that experience from what I’m hearing.
My school doesn’t do group projects theres lik 7 people in my class
12 in mine once there was a grade/class that only had 2 people then 3 then 4 then 3 again ( not my class by the way) the 3rd and 4the person joined late run the school yer at different times then someone also left again later in school year for that class

We had a huge 7th grade history project, that included artwork, story line, and historical facts about Vikings.
Let’s just say, my group was kinda bad, they did their work. However it was crappy..... me and two other classmates had to pick up the workload, making it sound so much better then it was actually.
Oh also, all the artwork was supposed to be done by three people... (me and another two that did crappy work) yeah I didn’t trust the other two anymore. So I had to stay up doing the art, with another person (one of the ones that help “edit” the story) but he had too many sports practice leaving me in the dust with a huge load of work!
We somehow got full credit, oh and there was supposed to be one random group in the class to present their work... guess who that was
Edit: I had later told the teacher about what happened. Turns out he knew I was picking up the work, and the only one who actually got the full credit.
The worst kind to deal with are the people who actually want to help with the presentation but everything they do is shiet
I once had a kid who didn’t do shit paired up with me.
I threatened him with Fs, saying if he didn’t do it, I wouldn’t either, and we’d both get Fs. I didn’t care.

I am blessed to have a teacher that grades everyone separately even in group projects. I was once working on a project with a procrastinator and a avoider. We were interviewing bands at our local music festival and each group had to do research on a specific band and one had to interview. The whole point in even having groups was to take a load off of the interviewer when it came to research (I was the interviewer). I needed getting stuck with most of the work because 1 would procrastinate and 2 would rarely show up. I had to do a lot of the work, and my teacher knew this. He walked over to my group and blatantly stated that I was gonna pass the class without a doubt but he couldn’t say the same for the rest of them.
Let’s just say I was super happy and I finally got help

Back at high school Was the one doing all the work too, but I ended up getting points instead of the other two. One was a weird bully, the other was just easily distracted. I relate so much to this I feel like sometimes I am the one with a huge workload while everyone else did little to nothing. Of course when I choose my own group due to having little to no friends I would end up with a really bad group, and sometimes when I did choose my group I did fine because it was in the middle to end of the school year, when you know everybody. So giving out group projects at the beginning of the school year is just plain rude of teacher to students who actually care for there grades but don’t know who’s a good/hard worker. As you can tell I really hate group projects even after being home schooled and literally having none for a bit.

I know how this feels I did everything in my group, we took turns talking for the presentation I stood in for this one kid that was too scared. He was also the kid that ripped off my presentation the year before. (I’m also the person that broke down in front of their friends doing voice impressions and also the one that kid was real “scared”)

The best time I've ever had with group projects was in 8th grade biology, where I could choose to do it on my own most the time and if I had to do it with someone I chose my only friend in class (I'm an introvert and they weren't dumb, so it was a good choice). Bc the teacher knew that big groups would end up with most doing no work she allowed at most 3 to a group, and I loved it. The best group project was when me and my friend had to research a certain species of ant. We shared the work mostly even, he was sick for part of it so I ended up doing a little more than him. We presented together and had a great time working together, he was a good friend

As an introvert, the biggest issue w/ group projects for me is when you are forced into a group with people you’ve just met, and I’m usually way too scared to talk to them. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are groups where people are WAY too talkative and they start getting off topic. At least, that’s what my teachers say.
