I'm lucky enough to live in Bridgeport CT where Vinegar Syndrome is located. Every paycheck I have to set aside some cash for my weekly trip to The Archive which is their retail store. It's amazing seeing so many Vinegar Syndrome titles all in one place and sometimes I'll just pick one and buy it at random. I have yet to be disappointed. So far Body Melt is my favorite hands down.
I didn’t know what Luther the Geek was about until you explained it. I’d seen it on Vinegar Syndrome’s site but, like you at first, I didn’t give it too much notice. But man, I’m sold on it now. It sounds super weird and creepy so I’ll give it a go! The Corpse Grinders is great! I totally need to get their blu-ray soon. And The Monster Squad is on my wishlist as well. It sounds like a really cool read. Great video as always, Adam. Keep it up!
I knew you had good taste, but didn't know you had "The Corpse Grinders is great" level good taste. Thumbs up, man. And yeah, Luther the Geek is a hard movie to sell, I guess, since the premise and title lend themselves to selling something like "carnie-sploitation" when it's really not.
Adam Cesare Haha Yeah, I wasn’t allowed to watch horror films as a kid so when I was old enough to start sneaking them past my mom, I tried to watch everything I could, The Corpse Grinders being one. Lol Luther the Geek is now on my list. Thanks for the rec!
Awesome video Adam! I used to rent vhs movies as a kid and copy them. I have both Luther the Geek and Horror House recorded, maybe its time for an upgrade haha!
Kolobos is one movie I'd never heard of until I stumbled across it on VHS, and it's one of my favourites now. Finding a decent DVD copy though...not easy!
Whoa, googling now! I remember that cover from Blockbuster! If it's indeed worth remembering, I hope someone puts it out! 1999 feels like just yesterday and forever ago at the same time.
I have a question I'm big of hammer horror Dracula with Mr Lee and I found just about every one on blue ray but one and it Dracula a d 1972 do u have this on blueray and if you do where Danni find it thank and love the video's
The best Al Adamson movie is Dracula vs. Frankenstein. It has Angelo Rossitto from Tod Browning's Freaks. And Lon Chaney Jr. I'd say Satan's Sadists runs a close second just for the soundtrack. I sure wish they'd put all of Adamson's movies on widescreen blu ray. Troma did screw those up. Brain Of Blood needs some love too and Girls For Rent.
Love DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN, esp the Vegas stuff, but I stand by my assessment: NURSE SHERRI is my fave. Shriek Show did a nice Blu of DvF a few months ago, huge upgrade over the Troma dvd. Vinegar Syndrome put out LUCIFER’S WOMEN (recut and added to to become DOCTOR DRACULA) so there’s definite hope for the rest of the Adamson/Sherman movies showing up on Blu.
That surprises me. Shriek Show used to be the only game in town but they have fallen by the wayside over the past few years. Their blu ray of Burial Ground looked exactly like the DVD to me. Severin blew them away that time. I hope they get up to speed with everybody else.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I think it's a terrible movie. It shouldn't have been released. It's three feature length movies edited into an hour and a half. That's why it's so clunky. They should have release the actual three features. It would have made much more sense.
Great list! The Corpse Grinders is an insane film. I did a review on it on my channel trying to spread the word about its awesomeness. Really great job with this video. Love your presentation. It's great to find other horror fans! Consider me subbed!
Night Train to Terror is so clunky because it wasn't originally made as an anthology. Unfortunately. If the three stories within this were actually supposed to be part of an anthology I am certain it would have been a much better movie. Yes, this so-called anthology is just 8 minutes over an hour and a half, and it contains three features poorly edited down to fit within a feature length time frame. That's right, three feature length movies, which would have probably came to 270 minutes, i.e., 4 and a half hours cut down into less than a two hour time frame, plus the parts with God and the Devil, and a music video being done...? It's very badly mixed. There's no coherence because of this. They shouldn't have released it. They should have simply taken the three films and released them separately. It's that bad. But it's your opinion on how it even gets into your top 5 releases by them. I kind of wish I had viewed this video before watching Night Train to Terror, because I might well have skipped it.
Man. I love cult film and have never heard of Vinegar Syndrome! Definitely going to look into this, subbed and thanks for the great video!
Thanks!! Just found your channel. Seems like it's right up my alley as I've been looking to become more versed in YA and MG horror.

Always a good day when we get a new video from you, Adam!
:) Thank you so much! Hoping to have another one up next week, discussing Arrow Video in the same way.
Looking forward to it. My to-watch and to-read piles have grown exponentially since I found your channel.

Even if you do upgrade, keep those for posterity!
Adam Cesare Oh yeah, I have a decent VHS collection. It's not going anywhere soon. I have the actual vhs of The Corpse Grinders too.

Severin (and sub label Intervision), Grindhouse Releasing, the AGFA, and Vinegar Syndrome are my jam.
'Alucarda' comes to mind

they need re-release some with slipcases
"Super Episode Mr.Adam Cesare."Vintage Horror and Horror Movies and Books Rule." Thanks Sir.
Thanks, Steven! Glad you enjoyed!
Night Train to Terror is a seriously underrated '80s anthology.
Even as someone who likes it, I kind of see why it's not more highly regarded. Hits my sweetspot of earnestness and clunkiness though!
Adam Cesare Agreed, definitely an odd and clunky curiosity. No wonder VS released it!

Last House on Dead End Street
For me as a kid, it was Little Miss Sunshine that I saw on DVD.
Guy looks like a young Tom Savini
I'll take it.
