I grew up in the 50s and 60s and love hearing about the people on my TV screen and movies. I appreciate how you are not letting them be lost to the world. Many wonderful people. Ty
Very nice documentary on a wonderful woman. I became aware of her when she co-starred in the 2 Dean Martin movies. I've been a huge fan of Dean Martin's all my life. Stella was perfect alongside of him in those movies. She's a beautiful woman and a very fine actress. I'm very sad to hear about her health situation now. My Mother passed away from Alzheimer's disease. Dementia and Alzheimer's are terrible diseases that I wish they'd find a cure for.
So sad ● for Stella ● for your mum ● & my grandparents (who *both* died from the final symptoms. I'm truly sorry about your mum.💔 So much love & stacks of hugs to you & yours :)
Thank You sir. She was always a favorite of mine....and Cable Hogue was priceless. I know of Alzheimer's; my father had it. He had been a brilliant scientist. Watching that great mind fade away was heartbreaking. I took care of him the last 2 years of his life. A painful task but one I was honored to do.

What a wonderful tribute to this real life Barbie Doll. She was mesmerizing in The Ballad Of Cable Hogue, one of my favorite movies, as well. Very moving video, Jerry. Thank you!
Beautifully done Jerry. I was born in 56 and I had a crush on Stella back when I didn’t even know what a crush was. As I’d gotten older I worked out what I liked about her. She is such a natural beauty. Hollywood never tried to put their influence on her. She remained the person she was throughout her career. It is so sad that she now can’t remember her career and what she had achieved as a person.

So bitter sweet. Stella Stevens was a beautiful woman with so much talent. My Daddy had Alzheimer's for over 20 years. He would remember I was the oldest of his 5 daughters and my name. I would stay in the care home with him after a surgery or when he was ill. I miss both of our parents dearly. I pray Stella's son Andrew is well. Thus far none of us have any signs of this evil disease. I love you in Christ. Hugs from northern California.
Once again Jerry, you bring to light someone I never knew, and by the end, I miss them! THAT'S a good story! And you're a master storyteller... A 'yarn smith!'

What a lovely woman. Many blessing to her family during this difficult time of dementia. Heartbreaking, but what an amazing career she carved out in acting, modeling and as a Playmate, as well as being a great mother for putting the spotlight on her son to become successful.
Another wonderful production by Jerry Skinner. No matter what some have said about Jerry Lewis, there's no question he was a genius. Nutty Professor is still on my top 100 films list. Great script and casting.....especially Stella Stevens.
Thank you for the lovely biography of Stella. I did not know she did westerns but happy she won an award. Her son Andrew i remember in t.v. and movies. I loved her in the Poseidon adventure and what a dtamatic death. So sorry she lost her memories. Terrible diseases robbing her so much. All the best Stella from a fan! Just may watch some of her older movies.
In 1966, the Nutty Professor would be on our local tv station before the THANKSGIVING day parade here in Detroit....I was mesmerized with her when I was 6 years old ! What a woman.
Mr. Skinner, that was a Wonderful Tribute, & Total telling of an Exceptional Ladies Entire Life. I very much recall about everything of Miss Stevens career, both Film, Stage, & the occasional TV appearances, Cuz I didn't watch Santa Barbara. I was really Taken & became much more Respectful, & informed of Her Turmoil, & Personal troubles. When You told of Her Legal struggles for Her Son, Andrew Stevens. She also had a "KILLER BODY" throughout Her Career. May God Bless Her. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Stella Steven's films I do remember her, she was beautiful, adorable and had such an innocence about her.. Dementia is horrible to not remember at times your own children and life.. My aunt worked at the Time Towers for over 27 years. We were supposed to go on the morning of the 911 incident for breakfast. But her knees were bothering her so we never went. Her shift started at 4pm.. Thank God.. She was angry about the 911 incident, she lost friends, colleagues and businessmen and women she met working all those years.. When she got Dementia, it affected her that her anger of the incident had disappeared, which was great and a lot calmer. But then started forgetting things and family.. She passed away two years ago.. I at least spoke to her and cleared the air about a dispute we had, when I lived with her.. Margie Ramirez.. Rest in peace. 😪

Early 1970's my Father was manager of a tobacco shop in Hollywood not far from Universal Studio's. I worked part time in the shop and scores of stars came into the shop. One day, Stella Stevens came in. She told how she was doing a couple episodes of a TV series called Heck Ramacy, set in the times of the old west. Her part was a reporter, and a member of the women's suffrage movement who smoked cigars. She was looking for a mild cigar, the right size to fit the part. My Father helped her and she bought a box. A few weeks later I saw the show and sure enough, a number of times over the next few episodes she puffed a cigar bought at dads shop. A couple weeks later she came back to the shop looking to buy another box of the same cigars. She giggled when paying for them and said I can't believe it but I really like these cigars.
