I always enjoy these factory tours, I don't think any other model company does them. I always can't believe the amount of effort and required that into building just one little model, especially the british ones. Can't wait to see what the new locomotive is this year.
All power to you, Jason... your enthusiasm is infectious. Glad you are getting a big handle on the market - and making quite the splash. Hey - don't mock the Brits, they seem to be amongst the most avid railway buffs, judging by their mags (and honestly, most of their layouts are to the height of detail and exactitude. They should love your products)
These factory videos are so unique, can't say I've ever seen any manufacturer show so much behind the scenes. It's great that there's a Canadian model railroad company, since the American and European brands tend to only make designs from their own countries. There's a wealth of Canadian made steam locomotives that never get made into models for that reason. It'd be great to see an HO model of Toronto, the first locomotive ever made in Canada in 1853. In general 4-4-0 locos seem to be very rare in the HO world (apart from the Bachmann, which isn't a very accurate model IMO). Another nice Canadian 4-4-0 loco is Canadian Pacific #29. Anyway, keep it up! I hope to get one of your steam locomotives sometime in the future!
@@rapidotrains Thanks for replying! I would have thought a "country western" layout was quite popular. Those are certainly some of mine and my dad's favorite trains, though I'm not involved enough in the model community to know how popular they really are.
I haven’t been to the website yet, but I dont think I could afford any of these.... Nice to see all the hand assembly and attention ti detail! Kudos to all the hard working employees 👍
I don't know if I would ever buy something from Rapido as I'm modelling European On30, but I always like your video, especially these very informative factory tours.
Relations between China and Canada look a bit awkward at the moment. I hope nothing gets in the way of this international co-operation that results in such wonders as the Stirling Single and the Dynamometer Car. If more people were model train fans the world would be a happier place!
Cool. Wish I could work for rapid train company, looks exciting ..I am Chinese but I like Lionel trains and tinplate trains when I bought one a couple months ago.rapido trains are definitely high quality
I saw the same thing and was wondering that as well, I could only hope so with the coaches being rebuild and new wraps on the fleet of lrc cars. Guess I'm going to have bug Dan as well all the way from sunny central Florida. I NEED MORE LRC COACHES.
Jason, You are hilarious, but you forgot the greatest team in hockey is the Pittsburgh Penguins :-) Speaking of Pittsburgh and N scale, (how'd you like that segue?) how about a couple of nice P&LE U28B's in the P&LE New Image paint scheme? Thank you for another great factory tour, love them and I enjoy seeing how the different products are made. Talking about products, I've always heard the car type pronounced as "GON-DOLE-AHA" not "GON-DA-LA" to differentiate it from the flat bottom boat. Cheers, Rich S.
Nice to see there are some good factories over there, everyone has a job, that's the difference. As much as I'd like to see stuff brought back, the ones in this place would be out of work. What a conundrum.
@@rapidotrains awesome I got a reply. I really enjoy your uploads and the humor in them. Your company makes beautiful models. I have a question Any modern canadian pacific diesels in n scale in the future?
Is the light feature on the Santa Fe rdc’s where you can turn off the interior lights going to be on theses rdc’s? I always like how funny these videos are.
Whats wrong here is you do not need glue for the detail parts it should be press fit like Marklin and KATO which do not use glue in their models. How will you replace a broken detail part when its glued into the bodyshell?
I can only imagine how much these would cost if made in America. How much per hour do those workers make? Maybe 4 tops. The world wants products as inexpensive as possible. Then complain they have no manufacturing at home. We cannot have it both ways. Good video.

Jason, Thanks for the update. It is always a joy to see your dedicated team quietly at work. Regards Stephen.
So awesome you let us peek behind the curtains! Thanks a lot for the informative tour!
hank you for the tour and showing us the operations of your factory! Its nice to be able to understand the process and why things are the way they are

Thanks for your kind words, Robert! We wonder if there is enough demand for a 4-4-0... Not many people model the 1860s!

Wonder how the paint sets up if the factory is 20 degrees?
Very interesting ,,, many thanks
Nice to make your products about people!
It's all about the people!
Was the factory not set up in Indonesia?
No, these are made in China

@chris auscision are already making them

You should put pictures of VIA Rail Trains around the factory, a way to keep morale high.
those VIA RDC's are looking really sweet, anxious to get mine. I also noticed an LRC coach on the desk... is there another run of LRC's coming too ??
No comment....
I figure if I bug Dan about them with every order they're bound to get made at some point!

Please do N-Scale RDCs.... Pretty please?
DiamondMaster2.0 I’ll second that motion!
I love my rdc so much more now
Do you have a Brazilian RDC model?
No. You will need to buy an unlettered version.
Okay Thank you
Would those factories be intermountain, FVMS HHMMM?
Yes, it was Affatech.
@@rapidotrains awesome I got a reply. I really enjoy your uploads and the humor in them. Your company makes beautiful models. I have a question Any modern canadian pacific diesels in n scale in the future?
Is your announcement the London Brighton and South coast railway E1?
Thats already been announced as being produced after the pannier which there was a sneak peak of in the video
5:41 this is memeworthy
👍
You should do 2850 and 2860 with polished diecast boilers. Probably a little late now but it would've been cool as hell
2850 will be painted in a simulated stainless finish.
Is the light feature on the Santa Fe rdc’s where you can turn off the interior lights going to be on theses rdc’s? I always like how funny these videos are.
Yes all of these have the same feature.
rapidotrains okay thanks
So that's where all of the old Intermountain staff went.
Let’s get the Modernized fl9’s rolling
We'll be relaunching them in 2019.
Are the VIA Siemens trains done yet?
Sure. In stores tomorrow.
Go Bruins !!!!!!!!! anyway.. thanks for posting .
How many do you make a year?
A Very Lot.
Hey rapido would ever make sd70 variants?
Probably not... The market is quite crowded already.
Ever thought about doing bhp billiton iron ore products
Omg! Onr gondalas! I’ll take 5.
Only 5 Jake
Is the factory heated?
Guess I should have watched the whole video before asking that question...
Whats wrong here is you do not need glue for the detail parts it should be press fit like Marklin and KATO which do not use glue in their models. How will you replace a broken detail part when its glued into the bodyshell?
How do you add 0.3mm wire grab irons without glue? If you can figure that one out you can patent it and make a fortune!
Dear Santa/Jason, i want a class 158 and class 170 in Scotrail livery. pleeeeeze
i thought they used robots to do all this stuff wow, i thought it was all automatic all the way through
Looks like they have very little heat everyone has winter coats on
Roger Young Yeah, Jason references that in the video.
Go Habs Go !

Turn up the heat...

ONR GONDOLAS ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I'll take 12
Keep an eye on our newsletter for the announcement in January/February.
I didn't know you spoke chinese
Where is your Winnipeg Jets jersey? You wife will be upset Jason.
I do own one, in the vintage colours of crouse. They are my second-favourite team! But it's not nearly as warm..... -Jason
Chinese made model trains are the best!!!
Why is there no climate control? It wouldn’t be too expensive. The workers can take off their jackets and not be encumbered .
There is no heat in southern China. Not even in the 5-star hotels. It doesn't get cold enough. They put on jackets when it's below 75.
@@rapidotrains Sounds like me. I live in the Colorado River Valley in AZ. I need a jacket when it's 74 degrees! LOL!!
