    Being a CB 500X owner, what a surprise to see you there, sharing the same interest for this Super Cub.!

    About $200k into it and 3 years later it's for sale for $210k. Not a bad investment. Have fun in it for 3 years then turn a profit. Very slick plane.

      10 grand for probably a thousand hours of labor to build it? Not very good wages in my opinion.

    Juan what is the longest non stop flight you have ever flown in the Mighty Luscombe ?

  • @landonhillyard

    another great video Juan. when you guys fly in the winter, are there covers you put on the sides? do you run heaters in the cabin? are they electric or do they use engine heat?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  8 років тому +1

      No covers, in extreme cold you can cover some of the engine air inlets on the engine cowl to keep oil temps warm.
      The cabin is heated off a heat muff from the exhaust like an old VW. The plexiglass windows provide a nice 'greenhouse' when the sun is out. Keep a simple CO detector on board when running the heater.

      Landing in extreme backcountry locations not suitable for any other aircraft.

    Amazing! Kinda lost the traditional art of flying back country but hey if money is yr thing then go & burn it up!:-)
    Not too sure how you get 24 square (power setting) on a fixed pitch prop set up.

  • @mikehubbard5493
    @mikehubbard5493 6 років тому +1

    Yea, a more impact receptive softer tire is going to be more stable on rough terrain......In my opinion.
