My grandfather had chickens, ducks, and peacocks. He never had much success with incubators. He decided to allow broody hens sit on eggs of all kinds and had much better success with hatching out chicks. He would isolate the sitting hens so they wouldn't be bothered or attacked by other birds.
when I was younger I had a 2 silkys (recieved as a birthday present already had other chooks) and one of them managed to hatch 4 babies out of the 5 eggs under her! the reason the last one didnt hatch is because my father had to move her and the eggs to another area and the last egg managed to fall and went cold:( but one of the babies who hatched was my all time favourite chicken a golden coloured frizzle named Nugget (may she rest in peace)
Thank you very much for your videos. It would be very interesting if you could make an educational play list for children to learn about the entire process of birthing a chicken. Many children don't know what it's like. Teachers could show such videos in their classes. Congratulations!

Is candling with cell phone flashlight healthy? It doesn’t feel very hot to the touch, but I had an egg stop growing after candling a couple times with a cell phone light.
My guy, get some filters for those glasses, like the clip-on type. Those grow lamps are BAD for your eyes. Honestly the glasses themselves kinda help but can also kinda make it worse. There's some wavelengths in there that are not so good. At least, that's what they keep telling me, and I've noticed a big difference with just a simple polarizing filter.
I hate feathered animals , as a 3 or 4 year old it was my job to feed the chickens and collect the eggs . I was pecked to pieces so I’ve always hated feathered animals .
