I work in a retirement home. Winning the incubator would be a great project for the residents. We have places that will take the chicks on farms to raise. But the residents would love the whole process of hatching the eggs and seeing the chicks. This would be an activity that would enrich their lives. Thanks for the opportunity for a chance to win the incubator!

To be honest, when it gets to that point in the hatch and they are struggling to get out, you may as well try, if you do nothing they'll die anyway. I used to hatch game birds, and the hardest loses were the 'perfect' ones that died in shell. Unfortunately as with any birth, getting into the world is difficult and not all complete the journey.

The Moran eggs have more difficulty hatching because the shell's are thicker. Fewer babies hatch because of that. Watch the videos by "A Chick Called Albert" by a wonderful gentleman named Alwyn out of the Netherlands. He does riveting videos on the whole hatching process and assisting chicks in trouble. More humidity or taking a very soft paint brush and softening the membrane can also really help them. Great job Jake! So happy to see this video. Looking forward to the emu eggs hatching next!

I am from Kashmir, India and I direly wanted to hatch eggs of my chabro hen , actually the vicinity I live in does not have breeds of hen that go broody , I tried many a times to encourage one of my hens to hatch eggs but everytime she rejects them after few days!

Hey guys, I live in the UK (Birmingham). My girlfriend and I have just moved into our first home and we're setting the garden up to help us become as self sufficient as possible. We already have fruit and veg well underway and I keep bees on the land of a nearby friend. The next step in our goal is keeping chcikens for egg production, she is keen to have some Sussex, Silkies and Orpingtons. The incubator would allow us to start our chicken keeping journey so we no longer have to live vicariously through yourselves anymore!

We've had chickens for many years of all kinds. Currently we have legs horns, Silkys, Buff orpingtins, Silverlaced Wyandots and more! We have a pure black and barred rock rooster. Our flock has 10 chickens right now with 16 in the brooder waiting to go out! I have raised all the chickens by myself, And i still take care of them to this day. I have learned what my chickens like and with a tip from you guys we changed our feed and are now getting more eggs! I have been inspired even more to hatch eggs by you guys and this would be a great opportunity.

I loved this video, I think it is great you put it into practice showing that it does work (or doesnt) with no bias on the equipment. I would love to be able to try and hatch out some quail eggs, and raise them up. I live in Canada.

Heya, I’m from England, United Kingdom, and I’ve been watching you guys for a long time. Since before you moved farms. I would love to have this incubator as I’ve just moved out with my fiancé and I thought it would be amazing hatching out our very own chickens and starting our own UA-cam channel to document our experience. 😅 keep up the good work!

    Bonjour from New Brunswick Canada!
I have been watching your channel for years and I can't believe how fast your kids grow! I remember how little yours boys were when you first moved and now they're working the farm too! Amazing!
I've always been interested in homesteading and I've been slowly expanding my projects more and more. I now grow my family's vegetables and herbs, and I've been interested in expanding my little farm to include some birds. Watching your videos have really inspired me and I think I would like to start with quail and then pheasants and Rock Cornish Game Hens. It's a very fulfilling pastime and I wish I could do it fulltime.

I had a chick that for some reason had been behind on development throughout the entire incubation. She didn’t break the air cell or pip on day twenty…or twenty-one…or twenty-two. I candled the egg (which is not recommended, I know. But it was necessary to see whether or not the chick was even trying to break the air cell or alive at all, or how I should help.) I saw that the chick was still alive and strong, and I knew I had to just leave it alone. Day twenty-three we FINALLY had a pip and she hatched day twenty-four. Perfectly healthy and a good lesson for me to learn to trust the process.

Thank you for this video, it is super helpful! Also one thing I have learned is that if you take a damp paper towel and dab the white membrane that is under the shell under the thicker white membrane, it will display all the blood vessels and let you know if the baby is ready to come out or not. Many times helping a hatchling too early will cause it to bleed to death so this trick allows you to see all the blood vessels.

I'd love give this same project a try with my chickens, if I got an incubator. I live in PR and ever since hurricane Maria my daughter and I have a chicken coup/coop. I started watching your videos to re-educate myself (my gramps raised chickens long ago) and it became a habit after that. We have saved up so much on eggs with these girls but they are getting up there and hatching some of their eggs would be an amazing thing, because even our rooster is very tame and big like the General. I can't wait to see how those chicks develop and what they lay. ❤

Hi we're in TX. I've been watching your videos with my son (4y) for a few years now. I just got quail about a month ago and my son is super into them. He even asked if he could have some live in his room as pets when I showed him button quail (we have jumbo wilds and a color mix standard sized). He helps me take care of them every day and keeps begging me to let him hatch eggs and of course I said yes😅. I got some goose eggs (for eating) a while back and his uncle told him he could put them under a heat lamp and they would hatch so he snuck them out of the kitchen and into my bedroom closet where I keep my brood box(I have dogs and cats that'll eat them and there's outside animals I worry about too) He was so proud of himself and really determined to hatch some eggs. He really hoped they would hatch and even if we don't win I still plan to get him an incubator at some point. I think this could be a good way to learn responsibility and how to respect life and living things in all forms. I'm personally raising quail as food but I expect my son and myself to keep a couple as pets.

Hi there! you guys are actually the reason we started raising chicks! We have 5 barn-yard mixes and we would like to add some more chickens (sexlinks or silkies maybe) and we thought it would be great to hatch them ourselves so we have been watch your videos to see which incubator we should buy, and I saw this Video (love your hatching videos btw! especially the exotic chickens) and I would be so grateful! we have 3 kids and they love the chicks, its teaching them to be responsible and diligent, even if we dont win the Giveaway I would still like to thank you since you guys are so inspiring, kind and amazing!
