In this video i show you how to make coin sorting and counting bank. All you need is some cardboard,10k ohm resistor,10 ohm resistor, TCRT5000 IR sensor, jumper wires, arduino nano, 16x2 LCD, I2C LCD Module, 9v battery, Switch.

couldn't you use a taller bottle and make the money part of the bank able to fit the taller bottles in and how do the IR sensors tell with coin is put in?

Taran Agnew Ir sensor is used in object sensing, motion detectors. Ir sensor detects coin and sends signal to arduino. I hope this explanation will help you.
