  • Hi everyone. Susie here from Minnesota, zone 4b. I really wanted to get this filmed in 1 video, but it takes too long, so I had to break them up again into 2 parts. This one features mainly my front and side gardens, with a little bit in the back. Hope you enjoy!

So glad to see you this morning. Yes morning sun..❤ we take our dog for a walk every morning by the lake..it is so refreshing and healing. I did begonias this year too. They look great! I think I will try some compost in my front next year. Thanks for talking about it! Happy gardening Susie!

Composting is a lot of work, but worth it in the end. The begonias have been a favorite this year. There is a lake in my town and I too take my dogs for a walk there. Thanks for watching

Your garden looks so healthy and lush. I'm your neighbor in Iowa. We get the same weather you get. I have begonias like the one in the pot at your front door. Mine is a peachy cream color. It was dying in a whiskey barrel in the yard so brought it onto the porch and it's made a fantastic come back. Begonias of any type are great if you have shade or dappled shade and for a porch. I bought a few more heuchera mid Summer on sale. Too hot for me to be outside planting so will soon when it cools a bit. I have a lot of hosta of just one type that came from 3 free plants at my last abode that I brought with me here. They are great fillers for the garden but not my favorite plant. So I plan to gradually replace them with brunnera. This was my 1st visit to your channel. It's been an enjoyable visit.

Man your yard looks beautiful! To think there was a time not long ago you were thinking of throwing in the towel!!
I’m still shaking my head at your beautiful HUGE Sun Kings!! How many hours of sun do they get? I’m going to move mine to a more sunnier location, they barely grew 6” this year.. grrr…
Also, how much sun does your Lungwort in the same area as the Dianthus you cut back get and Brunnera near your Sumac? After seeing yours I’m thinking I should be putting some of my shade plants in more
    sun 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thanks for the great video, I always get so envious.

All of those plants get at least 6 to 8 hours of sun. I wouldn't recommend that amount of sun for any of those plants. All the rain this year along with a mild winter made everything overly happy this year. I would say 4 to 6 hours of morning sun would be perfect. My Sun Kings last year were scorching with the afternoon sun. Thanks for watching
