I use your cruise outfit planner a little bit differently. While packing, I write one pair of shorts or pants in each box and list all of the shirts that can go with it. My color blind husband can just grab a pair of shorts, look at the box, and see which shirt matches the color. I also do this for my outfits and dresses, including shoes and accessories. This really helps me coordinate outfits better and bring less clothes on the ship.
I keep my Celebrity Silhouette chocolates on my nightstand in “case of emergency”. They are a wonderful reminder of our awesome cruise in the suite last November.
I just wanted to say thank you for the tips that I got from your videos, especially having the hooks by the door for our badges and landyards and clips to keep all of our papers organized. those things made our trip so much better. WE also loved having the sign on our door so we never had to worry which cabin was ours. Thank you!
I LOVE the chocolates that Celebrity has continued to give us each night. We like to bring them home and use them as rewards to us as we unpack, and store luggage, or do other post cruise activities. My favorite post cruise activity is deciding on the booked on ship future cruise To Be Decided. It is such fun to research and plan the next cruise, AND that surly deserves a chocolate!
Lol I have same carry on and beach bag (both blue and white ones) as you recommend things on Amazon, I have almost all the same stuff! Your recommendations are fantastic! Clips, hooks, bags etc! I found them all from you and I had everything I needed and your packing lists have been printed again for Bermuda in 2 weeks. Our cruise in April had perfection organization thanks to you! Thank you for all you do!
I have only been on 1 cruise since the pandemic and it was with Princess. They don’t leave the chocolates anymore. I used to collect them also and bring them home to eat later. They would be a sweet reminder of our vacation. There’s too much good food onboard to fill up on the little chocolates during the trip.
Love your tips! Two things I have added on this cruise that I will never cruise without again are 1) A funnel to refill water bottles etc. and also useful for draining the water from the ice. 2) A WaterSeals ultralight waterproof drawstring "backpack" with combination lock, for locking your valuables to the chair at the pool or beach. Find it and add your own affiliate link... you will love this.
What a fabulous tip! Thank you so much! back years ago, I had a watch taken from a tote bag, on another beach some cash, again from the tote bag and once even the entire tote bag with sea pass card and all! This product has me very excited!
Good morning! I just recommended your videos on what to pack to two people on Facebook who were new or amateur cruisers and were asking for tips on what to pack. I’ve found your videos very informative and helpful!
Hi Ilana, that cabin was exactly like our cabin #8166 on the Millennium back this past November, but we had the larger veranda with the wing with it being on the end. So much space and I noticed the same thing about no outlets in the 10' x 10' other sleeping area. The main sleeping area is 19' x 10' so much space for a family. More than enough for Jill and I. Nice picture of you in your black dress, but Frank and your son looked so suave and debonair dressed up at the elevators. One really could enjoy those Aft Family Veranda cabins. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
I love your balcony view, did you have much movement at that location? We do the same thing with our chocolates, collect them and take them home, it’s a great reminder as you said.
One thing I discovered about the magnetic hooks was that even the ceiling on most ships are steel so when our heavy things started sliding down I put them on the ceiling and they held much more weight. Of course we are both fairly tall so I am not sure how well that would work for shorter folks.
We bring a few plastic clip style pant hangers to hand up wet items from the ceiling. Our swimwear dries quickly and if we need to hand wash something, it will dry over night and we then us some wrinkle spray.
Yes, would love a video about the pros and cons of this aft balcony. Also if you can include, do you think someone who tends to get a bit seasick, do you feel the motion a bit more in aft room
I have wanted to book an aft cabin for years now. the price is what has held me off. I have decided if my children and grandchildren ever cruise with us that is when I'll book The aft balcony cabin. Grandma and Grandpa can have that cabin, and then they can come in and have plenty of room to play.
I actually bring thin micro fiber towels. They are so thin and light to pack to the beach. Gives me more room in my beach bag for other things. Carrying two thick ships towels are bulky. They are easy to wash and dry much faster.
Yes, more aft cabin info, please. Also, just wondering if you’ve worn that one dress that you packed, but weren’t sure about. I’m getting really good about letting go of clothes that just take up closet space, even if I never wore it even once. Something can look great on the hanger, but if I never reach for it when I get dressed it needs to go to someone who will appreciate it more.
Wow - just watching this video gave me packing anxiety! 😅 I would have to start repacking mid-cruise to make sure I hadn’t forgotten anything. Yes - I’m scatterbrained. I’ve always left everything in the suitcase, except for shoes and formal dresses. I even do this on two week cruises. Sometimes I still end up leaving something behind. What a beautiful stateroom! I’ve booked aft rooms on a few cruises, but I only had a window cabin. I love the view off the back of the ship. Thank you for sharing!
We had an aft deluxe balcony on Princess that we were upgraded for free to back in February, and it was definitely absolutely not as big as that nor a balcony even that big! There were three of us and we were very crowded!
I love love Celebrity ships. Cruised on Apex last November and Beyond last month. We will be on Princess Discovery this weekend. Want to try out all new ships 😀 Always appreciate your tips. Safe travel
Thanks for this detailed description Ilana! This aft cabin is lovely! I've always wondered about noise when booking an aft cabin. Seems like it's not an issue.
I have a "Cruise" list on my Amazon account. I have found a number of thing on your youtube to add to it I would need a plug near the bed. I love to keep my Kindle plugged in.
Lovely room & thanks for the tour. The magnetic hooks came in very handy on our cruise & they hold alot of weight. Removing them from the wall on the last day is fun 😂
Wow what a beautiful cabin! And as always your videos are so informative and helpful in many ways. I have purchased magnetic clips, as well as packing cubes which I do love using. My other plus is the organization hanger in the bathroom, so many uses for that and I bring mine everywhere! I'm going on my first NCL cruise in October and can't wait - thanks again!
Love the video. I am a experienced cruiser and already have been using everything you mentioned (and own most of the exact items) but I find myself oddly watching to the very end.
I noticed in your last videos that you do not utilize a shoe holder to hang for all your small loose items. Why not any more? I just bought one for our 9 day Alaska cruise.
Hello! First of all, thank you for making these videos, they are very helpful! I wanted to know if you used walkie-talkies on the cruise! If yes which one! Plz send a link if possible. We are traveling with kids the end of the month and wanted to prepare! Thanks 😊
We tried them with 6 young teens in the family group. Not worth the bother for us. Too many dead zones and the kids didn’t like them. Now we get the basic text package for them. We can all use the phones like they are used to doing, and communication is much more clear. Also, no one has to hear all that static and verbal communication while we text one another. Royal has a plan that is about $2/day/phone. That is what we used for the teens(13-15). It was great. The older kids(16-20) all had some sort of “package” and used that because heavens they couldn’t go 10 days without posting and talking with their friends.
Hello! Thanks for sharing your tips. Just a couple of questions based on things I saw: 1.) What is the captains club celebration party like? 2.) Is the fridge in the room pre-stocked (like mini bar style?) or is it completely clear for your own use? Thank you!
Love all your tips! We purchased our magnetic hooks and cruise approved outlet strip! We sail on the Summit on the 17th. Was wondering if you had any idea about how long it takes to get the Bermuda travel authorization approval? We filed on 6/19 and are still waiting to get our approval. They did process the payment. We still have a week to go...fingers crossed it comes back soon!
Hi Llana, of the two travel bags which do you think is best for both on the plane (under seat) and terminal? My purpose would be to use this in place of a smaller bag I have and place my passport holder as well as my other embarkment items and things your need for the plane, liquids meds, etc. I’m leaning to the solid one (rather than the stripe one) as it has multiple pockets and may be easier to manage my paperwork for airport Nd terminal. I placed both on my Amazon list! I love that both can go over the luggage handle. I like the look of the the striped bag but want what’s most suitable for my purpose. Thanks
Newbie question…have you been able to use the magnetic hooks and clips on all cruise lines and on most parts of the cabin/bathroom walls? Great tip!! I will definitely be buying those.
@@LifeWellCruised That’s funny, Carnival Sunshine is the next (and only our second) cruise we are looking into because the port isn’t far from home. Lol Thanks for answering my question! What a great tip for cabin storage!!
Just remember, not all metals are magnetic! I’ve seen comments over the years from people thinking their walls weren’t metal because they weren’t magnetic!
Hi Ilana do you get much noise in the aft cabin? The anchor maybe? Do Celebrity provide lanyards? We are on Celebrity Solstice in May and Celebrity Summit next September. The aft view is heavenly!
Thanks for the cabin tour.. we have a family veranda aft stateroom booked on our Alaska cruise on the Celebrity Millennium! Question? Does the water in the aluminum bottles have a weird or aluminum taste??
@@LifeWellCruised September 4. Alaska. Seattle Round trip. Discovery Princess. It would be great if you guys came. We could do a video collaboration together. 😊😊😊
@@SandyToes75 We’d love to collab with Ilana! We are on different coasts so at this time it’s probably best to do it on a cruise we are both on, but we will see how Ilana feels. My husband and I are also cruise lovers and do so often. 😁😁😁
I never know what to do with my dirty laundry! It always seems bulkier than when it was originally packed! What do you do with your dirty laundry that has been put in your hamper? Do you throw it back in you luggage before leaving the ship?! Or pack some other way?!
We use one suitcase for ALL the dirty stuff(packed in a plastic trash bag)with a few fabric dryer sheets tossed in. Then co-mingle clothing into the other luggage of clean things to take home.
BIG thing For any Bermuda cruise You need to fill out the Bermuda travel approval form for each guest over 2 and everyone needs to be vaccinated or they can’t get off in Bermuda. I know their requirements are changing(we are going at the end of the month and went in June). The week before us, they needed to upload a negative test 2 days before sailing to a link sent by Bermuda. That was eliminated at they accepted the negative test the cruise line used. It still had to be uploaded but it was a different less stressful time frame. I really am Not sure what will change, if anything, between that June sailing and the one at the end of the month. Bermuda wants to keep the positivity rates low on island because they do not have the medical facilities to handle a huge outbreak. The travel form is all on line and east to follow and fill out. Just don’t forget to do it.
I always toss in a 10 pack of inexpensive hangers. Yes if you ask soon enough, your cabin steward can usually find some extras for you from some left behind by others. (I just leave the hangers when we pack to ho home). The teen usually takes one or even 2 packs of them. The dollar tree has them in different styles and counts depending on when I stop in. I just buy several and toss them in the suitcase, they weigh almost nothing and really don’t take up much space). Help keep the clothes looking much nicer.
When ordering drinks onboard, do they check for a ID or is it recorded in the cruise card I am paying with? I really don't want to carry my passport around with me and I doubt handing them my foreign government issued card would be very helpful.
The extra walking to the aft helps with the elimination of calories consumed! If you have a tendency toward sea sickness, midship is a much better location that aft and aft is better than forward. Also, lower decks are better than upper decks.
May depend on the line. Royal Caribbean has cruise planner to book excursions, restaurants, spa and more. They are cheaper than booking on ship. You need booking number to access.
Not something you can prepay but IF you are sailing with NCL be aware of tax on drinks or items purchased on ship when docked. Not a huge amount but it will show up on the daily print out of your bill. Not sure but I think until you are in international waters you pay a tax. I have never seen this on any other line, just NCL.
Hi Ray, my wife and I were in one of those on the Millennium on a 10 night back in November 2021. No engine noise and one feels minor motion being aft but nothing major at all. More than enough room for a couple. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut

Small projection alarm clocks help so we can both see the time on the ceiling at night
Using cups to hold jewelry is a must. Cruise ships have very hard water so remove jewelry when washing hands
8 just booked w/ Princess and I opted to choose my room. Is there a chance for an upgrade, if so how is that done?
When ordering drinks onboard, do they check for a ID or is it recorded in the cruise card I am paying with? I really don't want to carry my passport around with me and I doubt handing them my foreign government issued card would be very helpful.
They will know. Minors have a M1 or M2 on their cards.
M1=up to age 18
M2=18-21
Adults are all the same issue so the staff knows. No IF needed.
I’m not sure how guaranteed cabin works, but do you think that you received larger cabin b/c you were a party of 3?
Hi, may I ask, what is the blue striped bog at 1:17 ?
It’s the the video description below - striped beach bag. Very sturdy bag and easy to wash too
@@LifeWellCruised I only see Mesh beach bag but I sure it's there, I'm just not seeing it.
@@cruisingforone oh no! Sorry about that - as soon as I get back home later I’ll add it
Be nice to know the benefits of this location.
The extra walking to the aft helps with the elimination of calories consumed!
If you have a tendency toward sea sickness, midship is a much better location that aft and aft is better than forward. Also, lower decks are better than upper decks.
Going on a cruise next month. Is there a list of things to prepay beforehand? I know about gratuities, but I wasn't sure of any other fees.
May depend on the line. Royal Caribbean has cruise planner to book excursions, restaurants, spa and more. They are cheaper than booking on ship. You need booking number to access.
Thanks Julie!
As Julie mentioned you can pre purchase some things ahead of time. I usually book my excursions precruise and consider upgrading my internet
Not something you can prepay but
IF you are sailing with NCL be aware of tax on drinks or items purchased on ship when docked. Not a huge amount but it will show up on the daily print out of your bill. Not sure but I think until you are in international waters you pay a tax. I have never seen this on any other line, just NCL.
Holland does still leave chocolate on your pillow
Do they still have flowers in the cabins?
How did You like the Aft-- Cabin ?? Was there any Engine

Hi Ray, my wife and I were in one of those on the Millennium on a 10 night back in November 2021. No engine noise and one feels minor motion being aft but nothing major at all. More than enough room for a couple. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut
Thank You Jill & Bob good
