5:15 we dont know if the strange knight is the one who made Jevil insane. Seam just says “A strange someone”, they would probably just say the knight if the strange someone was the knight.

I want to talk about Kris's first title: the human title. This title is very important, because it does explains what is the requirement on how to be seen as a human. You need a human soul, which is us the player, and a body. When Kris removed the human soul from their body. They’re not recognize by a monster like Toriel to be a human.
They were seen as something that wasn't a human.

5:47 This one is extremely simple to explain; if Kris went in, Susie may not have followed, instead forcing Kris to get the chalk, and that would result in the prophecy being entirely altered.

5:46 The darkners never directly imply they’ve actually MET the Knight to my knowledge. Even Queen depicted the moment their world was created as a giant hand piercing the ground with a blade. We also know it’s entirely possible for characters to simply hide their appearance in dark worlds, like Ralsei in chapter 1, or Noelle’s “robot face”. Even further than that, dark worlds are created with the will of the lightner who constructs it, so if Kris’ will constructed the fountain, they may have influenced the decisions of darkners like King and Queen without ever even needing to speak to them, as that will would be ingrained into their very beings. When King sees Kris again, they aren’t the Knight because they don’t manifest in the dark world as a form that reflects the will they created it with, but instead as a form that reflects OUR presence in Kris, and our soul contains the “light” that will seal their fountain, making Kris the “lightbringer”

This is going to be a long comment, but take a read if you’d like to hear a really compelling argument for Kris being the Knight, Noelle being the Angel, and why that all comes together to form a REALLY compelling connection to the themes presented by Deltarune so far. This also gives an explanation for the “one ending” and the literal meaning of “delta rune”.
I think Kris being the Knight the most NARRATIVELY satisfying character. They’re unhappy with the life set forth for them and reject the premise that nobody can choose they are in this world. So, in order to attempt to GAIN the power of choice, they create a NEW world, one where choices DO matter.
This fits in line with the idea of Light and Hope/Determination being parallels while Dark and Dreams/Fantasy are paired (just take a look at the text of the prophecy and the lyrics to Don’t Forget, which directly pairs these each together several times, as well as the first SAVE point mentioning the light only you can see, and power “shining” within you, etc.), after all. The more light you have, the more determined you are, the more dark you have, the more you are bound to the rules of the world you are placed within. Darkners do not choose their role within their worlds, and it goes to say that Kris cannot choose their place within the light world.
The introduction of US is what changes things though, and is why Gaster connected with us, and looks forward to creating a new world with us. See, while Kris cannot choose their choose who they are in the dark world, and those effects ripple into the light world by having the adventures change those who are associated, like turning Susie from a violent bully into a friend, or making Noelle “stronger” to stand up to others, or Berdly less of a jerk. But, Kris WOULDN’T be able to do these things OUTSIDE the dark worlds. Kris still had a set role in the game that is Deltarune, and that role cannot be changed when Kris is in a place with as much “light” as them. And that’s why WE are important.
We have more light than ANYONE else because we are the player, we come from a realm even HIGHER than them. To us, they are residents of a dark world, and our light shines bright enough to change their world in ways they could not. Consider that the name Delta Rune almost literally can be translated to “Change in what is set in stone”, or “Changing the unchangeable”, due to how the Greek letter delta is used in physics and how runes usually refer to ancient glyphs carved into stone. The entire purpose is to convince us that the story only has one ending so that we stop looking at it like Flowey did to Undertale- a game with predictable results for every set of actions. The goal is to convince us that it’s more than that. That despite our actions leading to the same outcome, the more important part has always been how we got there.
But to them? The characters in the game? I doubt they see it that way. If getting lost in the dark is to that of becoming immersed in the story, and shining too brightly is to trying to force the story to change to YOUR will, then things will go VERY differently if you stick to the intended path versus experimenting with everything you can. And all of this, all of this purpose Toby is seemingly conveying with light and dark and hopes and dreams and reality and fiction all blend together to clearly demonstrate that the one character who demonstrates the need to improve their situation over everyone else is none other than Kris Dreemurr.
But, despite being the Knight, they are NOT the Angel, the one destined to end the prophecy with the creation of a fountain with so much will, it brings forth the roaring. This person is the one who has been getting pushed closer and closer to the edge, and somebody who we have seen possess a LOT of power when finally pushed off of it. Somebody who wants to find her lost sister, who may lost her father, who may feel unloved by her mother, may be rejected by her crush, and is suddenly told that she can get everything she wants by simply opening a dark fountain, and then another, and then another… somebody like Noelle, who’s fountain will contain so much will injected into it that Kris may not be enough to close it without the power of OUR light.
This is the reason why the game always had one ending, and why WE were needed to change it. Without our light, there is no power that can stop the roaring, and banish the Angel’s Heaven.

wait this is just third entity
i really do think we're overthinking this, kris EASILY has the most actual evidence
like with every other character it's
alvin: -related to the angel and one dark world, talks about doing something with a hammer in missable cutscenes
    kris:
    - literally wears full knight armor
    - their eyes glow red and they literally open a dark fountain in a unskippable cutscene
    - extremely reasonable motivation to want to open dark fountains
compare this to the counter for kris knight aka "these like 3 small details don't make much sense"

even if its unlikely it would be cool if kris is the knight

5:15 He doesn’t say the Knight did that, he says “a strange someone”. If the Knight was seemingly some legendary hero to darkners that wanted them to keep their fountain and create more darkness, why would everyone refer to the individual by identifying how abnormal they are? And going by the line about garbage noise on the other end of the phone in chapter 2, it’s quite likely that this “strange someone” is Gaster, and that the intently of the Knight is distinct from that of him.

Berdly and Noelle would've noticed if the Library was broken into. Because Berdly works there and they got to the Library before Susie and Kris did. It can also be that Kris can see the save lights and make use of them because of us. And the Delta Rune symbols on Kris's house is depicted on top of the church as a symbol of their religion of which the Angel is a deity of.
And the two Krises thing is like...the game spends time establishing Kris as the weird kid through town dialogue and whatever's going on with us controlling them isn't normal. You can't say there's a good Kris and a bad Kris.

I personally don't believe that Gaster is the Knight, because Gaster seems to be more of a player than a chess piece. As evident to the secret bosses that being we control Kris while Gaster controls the secret bosses, Jevil's mind being warped and Spamton literally being on strings. (Besides Kris is literally wearing armor, which in turn makes him look like a Knight)

I get what you are saying, but the biggest problem with your theory is that you basically just recreated the "Third entity" theory, which brings with it the wost possible thing it can do to a game/series: If the theory was true, it would make for a worst story.
The story with the soul and Kris is interasting because it deconstructs the relationship between a Player and the silent protagonist that we play as, and THAT is something very interasting that noone has ever done before. But if third entity was true, that muddles things up. when there is just the Player and Kris, there is a clear separation between what is the Player and their actions and Kris and their actions, but with a third entity, how can we know? Which part is the Player, which part is Kris and which is the third entity?
I am not saying that this scenario coudn't make a good story, I am saying that with the foundation that Toby Fox laid out, the story going in that direction would be to its detriment

Can you explain why it's a worse story, considering we are only 2 of 7 chapters in? If the third entity is a stand-in for the plot of the game itself (or fate itself) taking precedence over your actions, I think that's potentially more interesting than the current edgy headcanons surrounding Kris. If it's a character that seeks to fulfill the prophecy trying to work against Gaster to ensure the original story of the game comes true through the roaring _despite your presence_ , I think that is very interesting.
You have to lack imagination if you genuinely see _no way_ for the third entity to have an interesting story if it went that way. Not your fault though, 99% of the fandom seems to have the same problem because we decided headcanon = genuine confirmed metanarrative of the game.

@@gianni50725 I don't think that a third entity could not be done interastinly, if anyone could do it it would be Toby Fox, I just belive that with what we have right now in the game it would be a bad direction for the game.
My biggest problem with the Third Entity Theory(TET) is tha if it is true, we would not now what is the 3 entity, what would be Kris, and what would be the Player, and don't tell me you would know because there is no way to know. The most common aswer I have seen for which is which is that Kris was before the Player and without a soul thats the TE but if that's true Kris has not played a part in ANYTHING and considering that it's their body we're inhabiting that would be insatifactoring.
Again, I think the idea of 2 entities fighting for control in a body with the host stuck in the middle is a interasting story, but there's nothing that point's to a TE. And if there is one, we know NOTHING about it, if there is just Kris we hear about them from the others, they note how Kris is acting diferent which makes sense if we're controling Kris and of course they would be fighting back which bring to another point:
If it's just the Player and Kris this would reinforce the diferences between the Protagonist and the Player in a RPG, which not only is a theme Toby has talked about, not something without any basis, it is a thing TOBY HAS ALREADY DONE IN UNDERTALE. In Undertale Frisk is not the Player but since thats something people are a bit confused about he brought the concept over and made it more clear. Meanwhile there is nothing the TE could be, if there is one, there is more evidence for the separation of the Player and the Protagonist being a theme.
