I am from Jharkhand and staying in Bangalore from last 15 years. Without any iota of doubt I can claim Karnataka is the best state in terms of people hospitality, food, climate and career opportunities.
True, Reality is Indians have already embraced junk food, like many other developing nations, where traditional food is losing ground to easy to prepare junk food.
People of India should be thankful to culinary tradition of udupi and dakshin kannada for their great contribution to indian cooking and hotel industry.
Entire coastal Karnataka cuisine of Brahmins is this way. Just DK and Udupi marketed it well. Uttara Kannada cuisine is no different and is better in some dishes.
Oh my god.. chiroti😃😃 I m also from dakshina Kannada and my father has a catering service nd he used to do chiroti.. it looks yummy nd our favourite too..🥰🥰 u remind me my older days.. thank u for this video kripal sir
This episode is simply awesome.... the owner is very humble. Love from Andhra for the awesome food of south canara... I love to visit this hotel very soon
i love that hiriya adigaru gently asserts that it is saaru and not rasam and kripal sir immediately connects that it is tilisaaru. all round wholesome.
Yet another stellar episode! Probably the best homage ever paid to South Canara cuisine. Much appreciation is also due to your gracious hosts who patiently led you on a grand tour of their restaurant.
The way he walked out of the kitchen with the excitement to have food....handsome & awesome 👌... Super sir... Drooling by looking at food, feeling to go back to hometown Mangalore...
Love to hear you converse in kannada, you come in and around my area like v.v.puram and new modern hotel and I don't get to see you, and for those who want to try south Indian food they must have it by hand and not spoon the satisfaction you have when you eat by hand is something you can't describe, kripal I would suggest you try thilli saru with some GRB ghee along with some cucumbers as side and also please try some curd rice with pickles (favourite of every Bangalore Brahmins), and you should have some meet and greet so foodies like me could meet you. Lots of love from kannadiga who is a foodie ❤❤❤
How did Kripal Amanna look as a child standing besides his mom when cooking sweets ???? That is what I was trying to visualize when you were waiting for Badam Halwa tasting.Waiting for the sweet master to offer you a spoon of goodies. It is like my son who is 45 wnd still makes rounds of the kitchen while I qm cooking. New Modern Hotel is a great place for vegetarians of Mangalore. In US, my house may be the only place where you are sure to get Thatte Idlies on regular basis.!!! I loved today's episode very much. Your description was heartfelt and so genuine. This is why I love Kripal. He is like a child enjoying everything that comes his way.!!😀😀😀
My parents favorite hotel. My childhood house was 5mins walk from NMH in Mavalli. Needless to say I'm one of those lucky guys who enjoyed the food there. Thanks for taking me back in time.
The photographs of The Great Kamaraj,Respected Lalbahadur Sastri shows their respect to the customers and the quality of their food items.we want to visit when we come over there. Best wishes to the team.
Lived in North Karnataka at a Tibetan colony for 29 years and now settled in USA, although a non vegetarian, what I really miss is the pure vegetarian eateries that serve Southern style thalis and my favourite used to be Basavaraj khanavalli which seems like North Karnataka centric if not mistaken. Besides the taste, I like the simplicity of the dishes and the peaceful ambience of these places
Chiroti....? This is something i saw first time, although a similar thing called "Om Ali" is very popular during Arabic and Continental Buffets in the middle East which is made out of Croissant, Raisins, Crushed Pistachios, Warm milk with sugar stirred in and served hot. Great review by Kripal once again. Thanks to all our legendary Coastal food pioneers who made it big in Mangalore, Bangalore, around India and beyond!!! Jai Hind!!
Chiroti was considered a “rich person” dessert at least for Hindu Brahmin weddings in Southern India. It was the dish to round off the wedding lunch. Unfortunately it no longer enjoys that popularity.
Your tireless contributions to document these culinary landmarks of India is really admirable. You also successfully showcase the efforts of the cooks who have been working for 3-4 decades with the same institution. A lot of such great people get unnoticed and remain faceless across the many food establishments in our country. Lot of us owe you much respect for documenting and highlighting this through your culinary travels.
I was in Bangalore in 2003 and did not know about all these authentic Kannada foods, our reach is limited to sagars.... I will visit this year and want to try authentic foods ...
Food is deliciously good. I knew this hotel is one of the oldest in Bengaluru. A must visit place for a south canara meals. Your explanation about the food is truely awesome.
Mr. Kripal great work we enjoy the way you present your food blogs and this really makes us want to taste the dishes. We are foodies and love to try different cuisines from our vast food heritage. Only one small critic I have is please check your spellings
I am continuously watching Kripal's food travel videos. By comparing Bangaluru hotels, dishes and prices they are very superior than Tamilnadu hotels. In Tamilnadu, hotel stuffs are not comparatively good, prices are also very high. I am from Tamilnadu and very often visits Bangaluru. I am very jealous of Bangalorians.
One of my favourite places. As usual another great video from Mr.Kripal. Your poetic description of the food and the way you enjoy it is unparalleled. Thank you for creating a wonderful repository of the culinary landscape of Namma BengaLuru. BTW, the dessert ChiroTi is mostly prepared in weddings. NMH is one of the very few places that still serve this rich dessert.
My best breakfast hotel in Bangalore. Kripal every episode you make me run to the eatery. I have put on weight after you started VV Puram episode. Today lunch at NMH😀
Hi Kripal ur show is good giving a lot of information about food the way u explain is fantastic .Pls don't drink coffee soon after ur lunch it's not good for health give at least 1 hour gap in having lunch & drinking tea or coffee
i am so happy just looking at the owners when i use to stay in mumbai andheri east there was vaibhav hotel next station unfortunately they sold it to mcdonalds probably they cashed in thier equity..they had aswome south indian dishes masala dosa ,medu wada, idli sambhar, south indian thali, pulav my god my mouth is watering...i feel sad that hotel got shut...
I like your food reviews. In this episode along with food, you spoke about the traditions, legacy and heritage. That's one important part of food. Kudos! Great job. Not able to wait to taste the authentic food at NMH ( As soon as life gets to normalcy from Corona at Bengaluru)
i visited this hotel today without knowing popularity, after I have tasted the hotel food and saw the ambience I know this might be great hotel! guess what! i am Correct!!!
Kripal ji.. The moment you finished eating the entite set of simple yet rich, delicious and nutritious meals, i felt as if i had them all along with you and was looking to burry myself in a mink blanket, switch on the a.c and go to sleep !!!.. It was so sumptuous and satisfying .. Thanks for the sharing your experience !
Sir I loved ua all videos ,love the way u show the food... May I plz know the tools u r using fr ua Cinematography ..... I need some info ,I want to start my carrier as Cinematographer.....

I am from Jharkhand and staying in Bangalore from last 15 years. Without any iota of doubt I can claim Karnataka is the best state in terms of people hospitality, food, climate and career opportunities.
No junk food can beat the wholesomeness and satisfaction provided by a simple Indian thali
True, Reality is Indians have already embraced junk food, like many other developing nations, where traditional food is losing ground to easy to prepare junk food.
Kripal, you are the HuenTsang and Fahien of our Kannada Culinery Legacy.

Absolutely correct
Yesss!!!

Jaysheel Kalgal I don’t think so,Then u can consider complete Malnad belt also
It's nice to hear those specific words.. tili saaru, majjige huLi, bendekayi gojju instead of generalizing everything as saaru/sambar
Yes and also saaru instead of rasam!
Badam halwa.. loved the way he prepared!! The technique is different and the patience of the person preparing the dish is treat to the eye!
Oh my god.. chiroti😃😃 I m also from dakshina Kannada and my father has a catering service nd he used to do chiroti.. it looks yummy nd our favourite too..🥰🥰 u remind me my older days.. thank u for this video kripal sir
