Lol I like how they go “can you tell the difference between these two guitars” and then don’t tell you the answer. I really liked this vid though, very informative! Thanks for making it!

It would be good to know what model and mic techniques, but I would bet that the Martin is the first (a D12 recorded XY?)

Great video! Subscribed and sharing to my students now. It would be great to know what model and mic / technique were used on the acoustic guitar clips, and possible, for future clips if the same part could be played that would be really helpful - Thanks

For decades, the engineers of microphones, recorders, and playback equipment worked to perfect that equipment to reproduce sounds accurately. Along comes recording engineers who say "yea, but I have all these dials and I need to adjust the EQ until my trained ears aren't offended by the original, actual spund". So, Zildjian has been making cymbals for 400 years. What do they know? I will make them sound the way my trained ears believe they should sound. To hell with the drummer who spent 5 years looking for symbals with the sound he wanted.

Some of the BEST front of house engineers are female. But I cant get a good monitor mix from them. Just kidding. The patience level ladies demonstrate is fantastic.

If you mix FOH then you should realize that you are screwing up the listeners hearing with 105 db.
