Sahert!! I go to university to learn music and the best school o could find in my country is bad.. it's so disappointing but you've helped me through this 7 semesters already and I just gotta say thank you so much cus I've been so close to giving up many times! Today I'll buy your v60 course I've been saving up for a few months and I'm so excited!!! Thank you for all your hard work you're an amazing musician and teacher
Love it! New fan and subscriber here:) This is was the most simple helpful Compression video and EQ video too! Quick question: Usong an Example track, ‘Adrenaline’by Zedd, what tool do you recommend for getting a track that I make sound “glued” together without the extra outlying unwanted noise/air like Adreneline? Thanks and God Bless!
You can setup a slow/fast compressor to create a pinch following the transient, exaggerating the sensation of impact. Simulates how your ears "wince" after having heard something loud.
Saher Galt = SG Sound Gym = SG 🤔 But really, awesome video as usual! I have to admit it took me several listens to hear the nuances, but that's the point of this training after all.
i tried the program of soundgym and i was unable to hear everything but will definitely practice this as i wanna do it so badly thanks for letting me found you i think its a blessing
Your videos about mixing and mastering are super helpful and easy to understand! The compressed versions here almost sounded like different drums. Thanks a lot for doing this, your tutorials really help me to learn everything I have to know about producing.😊
Helpful, though easier to hear the difference when attack and release are set all the way fast or slow. It's those middle settings that are really difficult to hear...and then there's the knee setting...Still a good starting place.
Awesome video 👏👍 best I have ever seen on this topic. And your delivery is amazing man. Your voice with the background music makes me imagine you to be some sort of very musical vampire
This is an awesome video of Compression!! Sahar is like a magician. He explains and demonstrates examples of Threshold, Transient, Attacks n Releases (Fast/Slow)!👍😊
I understand this is for training purposes but I am genuinely concerned because no matter how hard I try to listen I cannot hear the darn differences and as an aspiring producer/artist I want to be able to know how to use this skill effectively. Its concerning. Edit: Yes, I am wearing headphones (pretty good ones too) and I did end up hearing the subtle difference between the two compressed versions side by side of the snare ever so slightly. The volume is easy to tell, its the transients that I have trouble with.
please make more interactive ear trainings like this. really helpful.
And now everyone goes: “is compression THAT easy? I wish someone told me that long ago”
Big thanks for an excellent video.
One of the best compression videos I’ve seen.
You should be a voice actor for a crime thriller haha

Don't be kidding
It sounds like an action/horror trailer with overtly dramatic music to accompany it.
Thanks!
One of the most insightful videos on compression. Well done. Thanks!
10x more useful than anything else, ever, on compression, ever made

Sound Gym looks (sounds) pretty cool.

What mic do you use?
Such high quality videos!

This guy needs to become the new David Attenborough!!!
I get a kah tah going to kah duh. I can see why eq-ing would come next. Absolutely smoothing but keeping the voice distinct as possible.

The differences are somewhat subtle, but I have no trouble hearing 'em.
Not to sound glib, but have you had your hearing checked ?
I'm serious.
Awesome video! Thank you for this 👍🏼

WHAT IS YOUR BACKGROUND SONGGG?????
What about slow attack and fast release?
You're so underrated. Great channel thank you very much
I have been on eq and compression for God knows when but why I'm seeing your channel for the first time is what I don't understand...
This was really interesting
Dude you're an absolute angel for doing these. Subbed and everything. Thanks so much
Great stuff man, thanks for taking the time
listening to this in absolute quietness on loud volume, that sorta spooky high pitched sound at 5:53 absolutely scared the hell out of my dog, lol
I have music content check out
Great vid - thanks for sharing.
What would happen if the release was on fast and attack is on slow?
GREAT VIDEO!!! THANKS!
Mr. Robot of sound engineering.

Wow works with easy peasy 😂 for kick fast line
Thank You 👍🎶✅
you are a genius

Huh, i always thought a compressor only reduces the volume of signals that go over the threshold.
You're correct.
You should be the new actor in Taken
Subbed
Less background music will have us focussing more on what you are saying and teaching,
one love maaan
Love it
Nice.
I can't take it
Greaaat

😲😍😍😍
i dont play games so i'll write my own script and edit this vid without yhis gym
Who are you and where are you all these days ?
why doesn’t anybody use a melodic instrument to teach compression
Do you not get it?
Bruh I can’t hear anything
How is this supposed to make a song better if the average listener can’t even hear it
Keep listening and turn your volume down and down until you will listen to it
My God and that's how the Russian hackers broke the nuclear codes and held the world hostage for ransom! Crazy!
:)
I don’t hear a fuckin thing!
