And he is beautiful! Truly! I’ve never had a black cat, but after seeing Mishmish, when (hopefully in many years) we get another to replace our girl, I think I will look for a black one!✌️♥️
When I was a kid we had two crabapple trees in our front yard. We got a TON of crabapples from those trees, and my mom used them. She'd make crabapple jams, jellies, and pancakes syrup with them. She also stewed and canned some - and would use the canned crabapples in all kinds of dishes...From crabapple relish to mixing crabapples and cranberries into a turkeys stuffing. She also would bake hams with crabapples and pineapples on it... The flavor was AMAZING!! I wish I would have written down her recipes, but when you're a kid you don't think of thins like that, and my mom didn't write them down. When she cooked or baked she rarely used any kind of recipe, but created meals, snacks, and desserts from scratch. Anyway crabapples can be used in all kinds of dishes... They are incredibly flavorful and are a great ingredient to use in a sweetly tart and savory dishes. They were mom's secret ingredient in some of her dishes.
@@EarlyAmerican hey I sent a letter to you and you guys asked if I sent two letter and my answer is kinda my sis made one an I made one mine is tias a and my sis is Tatum sorry for the confusion
MishMish found you because he knew you would love him, care for him and he would be safe! We lost our rescue ginger Brandon last May to FIV complications. Neighbors left him outside for over 10 years so he found us. We adopted a rescue little girl from Louisiana. Local shelter brought her up to be adopted. That cow wants you to adopt her ❤ 😊
After a stressful day, there’s nothing like watching early American to relax and then hop over to frontier patriot for a relaxing chat. Thank you both! ❤
We grew an apple tree from a seed. It produced Granny Smith type apples for several years but we don’t get cold enough weather for long enough so it stopped producing. We were amazed that it actually grew.
The wooden bowl you made the crust in reminded me of my great aunt's "biscuit bowl", a wooden bowl with flour that she would make a well in the middle, add other ingredients, whip out biscuits for every meal! She would then cover the bowl with a cheese cloth and return it to the Pie safe till the next meal. Those were special memories... they had no electricity, but did have an indoor water pump 😊 Another interesting fact...she cooked on a wood burning cook stove, with no thermometer...but she intuitively knew when the temperature was just right!
Wow, never knew you could get pectin from crab-apples and I’ve had mature tree in my backyard all these years! Thank you! The apples are so hard and bitter but the fuchsia pink blossoms in the spring are so beautiful! Justine, please do a video on how you boil down, collect and store the pectin! Or do you store the apples over winter and boil it in spring/summer when berries are ready for jam making? Please do a video on this! 🙏🏼 Would love to learn more!

When i was a young wife in the 80s, my elderly neighbor taught me to make apple pies with an apple variety called 20 ounce. They are a good texture for pie, they don't get too soft when baked and are a nice balance between tart and sweet. Also, they are very large apples so you have to peel and slice fewer of them.
I am going to visit ste Genevieve before I die!!!! You 2 are amazing. These videos ALWAYS bring a smile to my face. Yall are adorable. Thank yall so much. ❤

Congratulations on Mish Mish! 😊 Something to note is that handpoured candles are about $15-20 per pair for taper beeswax candles. If you need more money, perhaps consider the cost of materials and an estimate on labor costs. For example, you pay yourself $10/hr, and I spent 1 hour making 10 candles so each candle has $1 cost in labor. This os something I usually see overlooked at craft fairs...love the history! ❤

The concept isn't bizarre. It also can be just from a hybrid apple. Hybrids don't produce themselves...they produce their parents or grandparents (but not crab apples. Crab apples are a separate fruit. They are not just yucky apples.) The grafted fruit produces what the genetics of the branch dictates. The trunk just provides the nutrients to the branch & the fruit. They don't cross genetics. It's not weird...it's cool. A whole orchard on one tree! 😅
