Thanks for showing the glitch-corrected part for us "plebs" ;) And Freyasspirit did great, really succinct and understandable even for someone like me who isn't too deep into speedrunning/speedruns and the mechanics of/in them. I've watched quite a few speedruns as many of us here most likely have, and it's understandably super hard to narrate a TAS-run even if you're very knowledgeable about the game and even the specific TAS that's being highlighted, just by the sheer amount of things going on with pixels, sub-pixels, button inputs, frames, that all need to be accounted for, or forcefully disregarded XD. Truly excellent work on all parts, this was on another level thanks to the commentary. So, have all of the kudos i can give!
I love when there’s downtime during a run and a speedrunner performs a little trick. It almost shows the personality of the often faceless people behind videos like this.
1:01:19 This was nice and all and the TAS tricks were incredible, but I feel like Sniq missed the opportunity to keep four missiles and twenty super missiles at the very end. Zero out of ten. Would watch again.

Watching Dwango's facial expression and blown mind was a joy to watch. The run was super incredible, fascinating, and mind blowing in itself. Having watched speedruns of Super Metroid over and over again I thought I had seen it all only to learn that I hadn't seen anything yet. Always learning something new...
OK 19 minutes in the run (19:40 on the video) is where it gets glitchy and fun. I am appalled at those elevator skips, clips, and wraparounds those were disgusting with the blatant disregard for game logic.
12:50 I made a video on my channel that's Sniq's run with all of the room transitions, elevators, and item fanfares cut out. It's only about 30 minutes long! EDIT: 43:14 Oh, Freya knows about it already!

That was just- so gross. I do casual runs of the ALttP/SM rando, so I've picked up a few tricks, just on the level of mach ball and gravity jump, and I've *seen* some of the other stuff that can be done, but this was just. I really gotta figure out how to get my hands on that paired randomizer. My google-fu is weak as hell, but I keep seeing jokes about how the Olympics should have one randomly-selected average person participating in each event for comparison, and I think it'd be funny to see my increasingly blind slow ass casually go up against speedrunners. "It's a new personal record! ....and the blind guy just made it to the first dungeon. We'll let him keep going and we'll check back tomorrow, everybody!"

they’re a system which means that they had experienced a lot of childhood trauma before the age of ten. when that happens, sometimes the mind fails to form one cohesive personality. hence why they used we/us just trying to educate those that may not know !! :)

@@FreyasSpirit It could be that the TAS is moving too fast or that certain points in the commentary weren't planned, but I think it takes a bit too long to get to explaining certain things, or that you get hung up/stutter a bit too much. Though I'll admit maybe that can't be helped. And that's fine.

We watched it a few times in a row and read some of sniq's notes as prep, but definitely weren't up for creating 2000 words of commentary notes . For comparison, for the gdq super metroid tasbot a few years ago, it was short enough that we scripted the entire thing and practiced a bunch Taking too long to explain things is a known cost of a duo commentary plus lack of prep. One thing we definitely need to work on is just letting things go unexplained because too much time has passed rather than trying to retroactively explain it Get hung up and stuttering is a problem we know we have and something we know we have to get better at. We haven't researched improvement methods in depth so if you have any ideas for how to improve that, we'd love to hear

Did someone actually finish NBMB? I believe I was the one who brought that idea to light and tried to do it. I ended up getting bored and not finishing it but at the time, 86% was possible. I think with all these x-ray clips and stuff, you could probably do 100% now.

These identities might be completely distinct (even fantastical at times) or very similar, but in every case there is a sense of being more than one person to some degree. It's not always obvious to a system that they are a system. You can look up the Plural community to find some more things. This is pretty pathologised in psychology as DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) and OSDD (Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder), and many psychologists still think it doesn't exist or will be really disgusting about it, but it seems to be a fairly normal thing. But there can also be a lot of trauma involved with some systems with some identities holding that trauma so that others can continue to function (psychology became aware of it through this trauma aspect).

I never cease to be impressed by Super Metroid TASes. Much like Dwango, my jaw was on the floor the entire time.
If you cross your eyes like looking at a magic eye picture, it makes the differences between the original run and the glitched run really stand out.
I enjoyed the experience of desync once my stereoscopic view disagreed! Pleasingly unsettling.
