Didn't really show the house😕
No idea what they're mumbling.. the house is nice and interesting but not sure what criterias make it the best of..
marketing. just put BEST or TOP shit will make anything expensive
I can't stop watching this video,I love this house, though with a few mistakes but but still out standing
Who shoot that? You can't see anything about the house in this video.
Look at the comparative shacks surrounding. Boy did their resale value go up.
What an amazing forming and pouring job that roof structure is.
I love concrete, it's easy to maintain and beautiful!
Difficult for me to consider as home of the year.. The swimming pool especially for the kids it seem really risky... because of those glass partition if by any chance they jump over it whenever from the top I just can't think of it... not Everytime one can't be conscious about that...Peace
I thought exactly the same as soon as I saw the glass partition!
yea man. Should be the most stupid house of the year.
Diagonals are cool. I’m stealing that for sure (for a simpler reclaimed timber ceiling, my concrete skills arent that good yet)
There seem to be a lot of negative comments here. Not sure why. Compared with the other (boring / pedestrian) buildings on the street, this is imaginative.
It’s all concrete. How is that warm and inviting?
@Luc Préfontaine I agree, only in tropical environment, not for cold climate.
Just wow 😫😮
I love it 😍😍
The concrete roof is a copy of a John Lautner designed house in Los Angeles.
HECTOR my favourite, the Goldstein residence. I thought of that too.
I've seen better. You should check out the house in Da Nang, Vietnam, designed by famous architectures Vo Trong Nghia. The house is abundant with natural air, plants and sunlight, with a home garden on the roof, and a pool on the ground floor.
The core design of the house is self circulation where rain water is collected to supply the swimming pool, the pond, as well as to grow plants which in turn cools down the house. The environment of the house is designed in such a way so as to enable the nurture of a closer and harmonious family tie.
This building can borrow more from that home.
@Trelise' Avery-Moore ua-cam.com/video/_xCecIf3kWo/v-deo.html check out the house in Da Bang, by Vo Trong Nghia.
@Trelise' Avery-Moore no worries, I don't understand Vietnamese either and had a bad impression on south east Asian architecture until I saw this video. It changed my perception and I hope that one day I'll build my family home like this.
How architecture has fallen. This house needs a Nobel Peace Prize for how "wonderful" it thinks it is.
Can hardly see the whole house in the video except close up images of the indoors
Modern brutalist 👍🏻👍🏻 I like it , whether the concrete will stand the test of time remains to be seen !!
The best things in this house are the kids and family.
The building is ...so..so..
S Niyut Hello 👋🏼 you Know l though the same thing!!!!Kids playing was the most beautiful in this house!🌱
I like it. More interior shots though, please.
Brutal. Reminds me of Goldstein Residence by Lautner
Nice house 👍👍👍
The best house of the year! I think different people have different point of view. The best must address to all points of views or most of them.
The ideal house should not be depanding on exterior environmental. A house on a hill shall have some inherited advantages as compare to a house built on street with another house in front.
It is really difficult to judge which is best. Swimming pool of this house is horrible.
Give a shout-out to the structural engineer who made this possible and safe to live in.
cool but 2019 🥇 is to much for me!
Welcome to command bunker 4986! Have you taken a dip in the coolant pool yet?
What? I cannit see any details of the house
You guys are lucky because you have wide street and it's very easy for you guys to build up your ideal house but to those who lives in the little street what about them and a real architect is whom who built a house in a small street with very small space.
Great inspiring house. Could only understand half of what they said though. I tried--twice. Sorry, Going to need subtitles on this one.
I love having the opportunity to learn about homes around the world but I wish they would cut the background music by 1/2...very distracting.
The house have not been shown,!!!!!??
They keep telling me concrete is the worst building material for the environment 🧐
Badly made concrete is terrible for the environment, because it degrades and gets ripped down after 50 years. Take the domed concrete Pantheon in Rome, reinforced with volcanic ash, still standing. If we built buildings to last, concrete would be extremely good for the environment. Or rather, the net good for the environment compared with other building materials is great. Sadly people don’t understand how to build concrete well, and steel reinforcement often not given enough cover from the elements causes long term degradation. Like all things: it’s complex.
Hmmmmm I’m not sure how this is the best of 2019! What’s the criteria ?
it would be if we could see it ..... glass and wet shiny marble and kids in the pool .....weird
Is it home of th year?
Beautiful house.. excellent workmanship.. Look into securing a tax bond with all of the neighbors to fund the removal of poles and wires and install underground.. It is very reasonable with cooperation.
Peace on the Plane...
this house is staying only Dracula's honeymoon suits
カッコいい❗
the background music is horrible
Exc!!
Well, it would score more points with most people, if house were to be build wooden. CLT or somwthing. Some one sure didnt take ekologi Al aspects into account when giving this 300 ton concrete fortress that tittle that it carries
The BEST?????🤔
ok nice, but still shoes allowed in the house ?!
living in concrete...?
A bomb shelter.
This looks more like a building than a house. Horrible interior design. How is it the house of 2019?
Concrete and alluminium everywhere, oi cold feeling and Bad isolation.
Because architecture today is run by degenerates who hate beauty.
No content. ?
What stands out mostly about this house is the architect's egol I couldn't tell how "good" the design is since so little was shown. The glass adjacent to the pool with kids jumping off a precipice looks destined for future problems of a physical nature.
Its cold & uninviting..
With 60's throwback...
No thanks.
This is a great creation no doubt but what about this insane narcissism?
wrong caption.sorry guys.....raw cold concrete,dangerous pool.will need some serious redesign please.sorry again!
Joke of the year
I am not degrade you guys but I really want an architect who built a house in a small street, and not only build he do something like magic or may b technically build a house because of which every room is blessed with sunlight every morning and will b bright and energetic because we all know how much sunlight is important for us , and not only for us it's very important for house also if I was not wrong.they will build house on the middle of the street where three or fourth floor buildings sarrounds of it. And then they will build the house with the wide windows where sunlight reflect because in small streets the sunlighs never ever come and it's a very big issue for those poor people who lives in this kind of streets. that they are and there child's never blessed with the morning sunlighs because it's very important for children, mother's ,elders everyone if I am not wrong. if some one will really do this task then I will said him proudly that he is the number one architect of the year. And of the world. Because if you have a wide space then it's a very easy task to do. But if you have small area or not only small there are so many building around it then it will be the tuffest task to do.
Absolutely nothing breathtaking about it. Standards have became low it seems. FLW would not be impressed.
Why does it have to be breathtaking? The shadows alone are intriguing. I appreciate the art in the simplicity.
2kh22a while beautiful, and I do appreciate the art form, I’m simply expecting a bit more for a home deemed THE best home of 2019. Just hard to believe this was the one.
I agree. Wright probably rolled in his grave from the 2019 award for design mediocrity
Incoherent but good
Did you guys search for a home or was this the only application that you received? Where are the efficiencies for energy control, lighting, environmental issues for the use of concrete - carbon footprint? - concrete is the worst application . . . . not impressed
Another miserable concrete monstrosity. Only interesting thing is the webbed ceiling.
Attractive, but the amount of concrete in the roof is insane overkill. My own home's roof has no beams or trusses, except under the roof peak, because it is made of 11 1/4" thick SIP panels. So, my roof is dense styrofoam plus 7/16" thick OSB laminated on each side of the panels. It's lasted 20 years so far in earthquake country. Premiersips.com
It may be the best house but how do we know? The pathetic camera work shows nothing at all. Even a random person would capture the beauty of the house much better than this cameraman and even using a normal camera phone.
I don’t like anything about this house.
I’d rather live in a little cabin in the Rocky Mountains. Now that’s true beauty and tranquility. God’s country!
Not worth it... It's just there but not in the category of the best please.
WAAAY too much concrete. I’ve never understood this desire to make houses out of concrete. First of all, it’s horrible for the environment, but it also is such a cold, unfriendly look. Only architects like this, I would think, because too often they’re trying to create art instead of a home.
What? The design is like from someone who just picking up some design lessons. It’s ugly to be honest
👎
Nice house👍👍👍
