2 days lost in that place wouldn't be enough.... It would be a celestial experience, indeed.Waiting for an arcade renaissance would be unproductive....Let's go to the source.😃
You can see the difference between Japan and the West. The West is always looking for the next best thing. If it ain't new, it's through. Japan appreciates history and cherishes the journey, not just the destination. Fortunately, the gaming community in the west is starting to think more like Japan.
Jonathan Pontel Ha! You are lucky👍, I must say that I agree with you as well, though the worst of it is not having many of them left at all "having to look and search for one" is where the fun gets ruined for me, personally. Tokyo, Japan is where I need to be!! 🙌👍
Throughout the state of Illinois we have a decent amount if you're willing to drive around the state. Mostly classic games and Chicago has Galloping Ghost which has over 600 machines ranging anything from old pinball to some modern games that are all on freeplay.
I know. In the west, people mostly just stay in their homes now. There are still some around but it's pretty much just glorified bars like Dave & Busters which has become very lame. I remember multi-story arcades with all kinds of unique games. But now that taxes are so high and real estate is so expensive in the west, companies can no longer profit enough from that stuff.
@@Bristecom it's just corporate greed if you ask me, and at some point, things are going to get so expensive that the whole rotten corrupt greed fueled system is going to collapse
I think the thing is its kind of expensive to go a few rounds in arcades, while consoles and pc are offering much more for a competitive prices and you are not limited to how many coins you have left, at least in my country you can blow out 100 bucks in like 40minutes, that feels like you could have done so much more with tha money... I still love the ambience of arcades tho
Love this video! Could you please make another one covering the rhythm games section? Im visiting Japan next year and I'd love to see what they have :D More of these types of videos please, awesome!
This arcade is awesome! Arcades are a dying breed. I went to a cool one last year for my birthday and I'm going back next month for my birthday. But I don't think it beats Japan's arcade. They always get the cool stuff.
Ok I'm just gonna say it ROLLING STARTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT (It not 90's without that)
hought the name sounded familar not visted it but its one of the leaflets you get in akibas trip 2 and its one of the places in tokyo akibahara along side granvania maid cafe i want to visit when i go to japan..
Japan still has Arcades .Well that is cool since they make some of the best Arcade games ,I was in Japan once and hit a Arcade there . There games were awesome at the time I was there , Which was long time ago when a Quarter went long way .But they call there Quarters something else ,Well that is cool Japan keeping something alive .What we North America got rid of , And replaced with a Console instead of going out to the old Arcade .
Great old times.... There are times when I beat Time Crisis 1 2, and 3 just with one coin/card. People were like, watching me lol. Oh yeah, and I beat all the highscores in that arcade and rename it all to DCK.
the music games floor is just nuts. the volume of each machine is so impossibly loud i couldn't stand there more than a minute. talking about a nice way to relax after a stressful day in tokyo, players get headphones though.
Why can't IGN make great videos like this more often?
omg arcades !!
Can't give everything.......you know ^_^
I have been to Akhihabara and that place is a heaven for old school gamers!
2 days lost in that place wouldn't be enough....
It would be a celestial experience, indeed.Waiting for an arcade renaissance would be unproductive....Let's go to the source.😃
This would be an almost magical experience to me. I miss arcades...
Bell-Kun, let's go to Japan to see the "arcades".
This looks amazing.
Ais is best girl
No - no words. No words to describe it. Poetry! They should have sent a poet. So beautiful. So beautiful... I had no idea.
There's a place called Round 1 here in the US that's trying to bring the Japanese arcade experience here
I went to the one in Arlington. It was cool playing on an actual Japanese Cabinet. I played DoDonPachi Dai Oh Jou.
Round1 exist in Japan too. The one in ikebukuro have a great selection of music games. One of my favorite.
How I miss this arcade rooms. Good to see they are alive and well in other places.
Cool. I'm not much of an arcade person (I don't go out much, really), but when I go here, it's really great. I have quite a fun experience.

+IGN Ahhh what fun it use to be when we had game rooms(arcades) here in the states, unfortunately those days are over💨
Jonathan Pontel Ha! You are lucky👍, I must say that I agree with you as well, though the worst of it is not having many of them left at all "having to look and search for one" is where the fun gets ruined for me, personally. Tokyo, Japan is where I need to be!! 🙌👍

Dude that song is so sick
sadly, you can hardly see arcades in NY. Breaks my heart.
Really? I thought NY would be one of these places who had preserved or even updated them.
Compendyum you can see arcades here and there but they are not proper arcades. And most of them are dated too!
Ken Lee They are gone here in most european countries too. It's a shame, because playing King Of Fighters at home it´s not the same thing.
Ive been here, This arcade is amazing!
Damn, I just came back from Tokyo recently and missed this place completely when I visited Akihabara! Went into the two Sega arcades instead.
It's like the Mecca for video game players.
Ok I'm just gonna say it

I think VR can bring back Arcades , The star trek VR game can be a great Ice breaker game .........
I just don't know why anyone would not want to spend days here.
I swear they can't name a fighting game with less then a full sentence
how much money would you need to bring to spend an afternoon there? How expensive are the individual machines on average?
100 yen per game, games can last anywhere from 1 minute to 20-30 depending how old the game is
I Totally Wanna Go There
