@@iknowexactlywhoyouare8701 Why are you talking about race ?!
She just doesn't look like Yennefer, she doesn't have any charisma, from her look or the way she acts, period.

I love Anya’s voice. She has such a beautiful voice!
She is beautiful, but she does not look like Yennefer.. I mean, anya is ok as Yennefer and as actor, but she looks just different.
Everyone is sick of forced diversity casting.
I mean…. Ya…. She doesn’t
Fans weren’t wrong 😂😂😂 terrible show and miscast of many characters
I understand being annoyed at casting directors and writers but leave the actors alone. That being said she definitely isn’t yennifer in any way but she wasn’t written to be either
Well that’s the problem now isn’t it? If she doesn’t look or act like Yennefer, why would you cast her?
She could you know not take the role out of respect

she is not rell Yennefer
Other than her not being white she looks at described in the books - long dark hair and violet eyes. Also, she fits the embodiment of the character well. Y'all complaining but if they prioritized just appearance over skill you'd likely have an appearance accurate model with little acting skill and you'd still be upset...
Have they run out of talented white actresses? Stop acting like she was the only woman who could’ve played the part.
They didn’t pick her because she was the most talented, they picked her because she didn’t look like Yennefer.
You'd may have a point ... If they didnt purposely look for someone of her skin color to play yen. Dont believe me? Look it up. Before anyone was casted they specifically stated that they wanted a brown skinned or south asian to play yennefer in the show.
@@rgf5432 you’re a racist? Why?
@@matfly4832 how about we make black Panther a majority hispanic and asian cast in the name of diversion. Have a problem with that u racist?
I personally love her as Yennefer. But I do have to point out that the books described Yen as having a "slightly receding chin", which neither the series nor the game's actress has. I think it would have been very meaningful to show a small chinned beauty, as they're seen less and less in Hollywood, but whatever.
The real "clap back" is coming soon for them when they're out of a job. Should have backed Cavill.
Who said they didn’t? They aren’t well known except for the Witcher so if they spoke up they would’ve been out of a job regardless

The on-screen chemistry between the actress and Henry made it work.
Not only they've blackwashed that character, but then they've also decided that in fantasy/medieval setting, a witch would be totally wearing a latest H&M fashion😂😂😂

Never read the books, couldn’t care less. She’s absolutely stunning.

Anya is so fantastic. Love her!! ❤
She is the perfect Yenn. People are just crazy haters. She reminds me of Yenn from the third game and that’s what I wanted. They made her less mean, which is fair lol
Even if she’s not the same Yen, she still is a badass in the show and honestly I prefer Anya’s portrayal.
I know Yenneref from the book, from the game, from the musical, from the first series and I saw this character played 3 times during an RPG session (by 2 of my friends). Anya is almost the worst Yen I've ever seen, but behind her there's only one friend from the rpg session, and she had no idea about Yen, the Witcher universe, or acting, so it's hard to come off worse.
I'm not gonna lie. Anya is a very beautiful lady and i love her performance in the series very much.
But the fan wasn't wrong though. The Witcher was written by a polish writer, based on polish folklores. However, Netflix being woke makes it diverse. Say, if a Chinese writer wrote books like witcher based on chinese folklores, and Netflix replace some Chinese characters with white people, that would be racist, isn't it?
But some ppl being holier than thou, accuse people of racism when someone complain blackwashing. It's not racist. If someone is racist, that has to be the studio replacing white characters with Africans and Asians. Oh, don't get me wrong though. This coming from an Asian who lives in south east Asia.
She looks hotter actually 😂❤
I don’t really know book Yennefer. I only know video game Yennefer. Her interpretation was nothing like her. But I still like her anyway because the characterization she was set up with she did very well.
The show badly needs writers not woke activists. And bring back Henry or I’m out!
She's not Yennefer of Vangerberg but Yennefer of Mumbai
I want Anya to be Robin on the next season of One Piece LA. She's perfect.
i don't hate the actress but let's face it the many reason they hired her because of her skin color, to keep the diversity lol
It was the ONLY reason🤷♂️😒
She's sweet. Hope she gets casted more. She's so pretty. I like her more than the other famous indian actresses❤

The amount of denial ...
She didn't quite look like the game or books but her acting & look have proven to be Yennifer!
That’s what I can agree with. People judging only her race without considering her great acting is very disappointing.
She is an amazing actress and did an amazing job as Yennefer honestly. And she is also very beautiful. I don't know why they're all bawling about.
Terrible cast choice for Yennifer was was surely intentional
The fan just speaking facts
I always love it when someone says an actor doesn't look like the FICTIONAL CHARACTER they are playing...
Not everyone who watched the Witcher has read the books or played the games, I think Anya is perfect, she is sassy and Smokey and every bit the powerful mage, my only problem with her being yennifer is I want to be her.
Well you base it off source material if you want to please the very fans who would watch it the most…..
@@lapislazuli6136 the people who make the program are interested in making money, therefore they want to make programs that reach the maximum number of viewers, not necessarily to please a devout niche of society, they owe nothing to the loyal fans they pillaged the original material from. Yeah he isnt wrong but dont go insult the actors. They just follow a script. Its the scriptwriters who messed it up, especially with Triss and Lambert, they dont look anything like their described in the books
I mean, first of all, in Poland, you need to know that if people don't use the word "Kurwa" in agrresive tone, then it's just a blunt statement that shouldn't be taken personally, so fan was not actually insulting her.
Second, they have to tell someone she doesn't look like Yennefer, he probably can't say that in the face of screenwriters so he had to tell it to actress
@@mathuraphael9196 uh no, an insult is personal, he personally insulted her. so according to your logic any insult shouldnt be taken personal. its not hard to understand that if you dont like a character, dont insult the actors

This is the Wish version of Yen
Your own casting Director said you were hired ‘to subvert beauty standards’. Did you wonder what was meant by that? Sounds like the call was already coming from inside the house.

It doesn't seem strange to you that slavic people are not represented at all in a show based on slavic literature?
@@PureLuck-tk5tk Why should it be strange? It is not slavic only literature if you ask the writer, although he is from Poland he created a huge new universe of all colors and forms, that's his opinion.

It's like saying the Harry Potter books are not british literature because it incorporates other cultures and other fantasy elements.

That that’s her most memorable fan encounter says a lot.
Remember the time the wanted to make a black Ciri with white hair ? 😂
She isnt bad, but there were MUCH better out there, kate beckinsale was my favourite for yennefer
The fan was correct. This was the worst casted show of all time.
What’s really funny is that 7 season run is ending early in season 5. Henry left because they didn’t respect the source material he was passionate about, the writers dismissed the fan backlash and criticism to the show, it’s universally panned at this point, it’s disrespectful to the Slavic folklore in the books, the writers openly stated they didn’t read or care about the source material the show was supposedly based on, the casting of said characters being completely off the mark and ridiculous…..I could go on and on.
Oh and the fan was right. Can’t wait for this abomination to drift into the past and be forgotten about.
