I think I found where I went wrong. trying again now. After unzipping and opening the 64Gb file there are many folders or files inside. There is one that is another zip file. Take that zip and also unzip that (i guess ignore all the other files in there, finally once unzipped, this time it will turn into a disc image. then finally with balena choose from file and choose this image and target the sd card if already formatted. Hopefully it works this time. Finally.. YES. Thanks. This video was exactly the way. I just missed that crucial 2nd unzipping !!!!

So. I've just noticed that when you unzipped your file it converted it into a disc image. My unzipped file is just a folder not a disc image. How? why? Whaaaaa....
So. I dragged the unzipped file to the same but reformatted sd card and I'm in exactly the same situation as before. Never gets past the logo screen. Think only option now is to buy a new card. v annoying. Spent all day trying to figure this out. This always happens to me. Can waste a week easily on stuff like this.

Arrived in the post bricked. Got the 64Gb file unzipped with "The Unarchiver" Opened "Balena Etcher" and unable to drop unzipped file, go to browse and the unzipped file is not an option, only the zipped one which doesn't work. This is exactly the sort of thing I can spend all week on wasting my life. This shit not work out of the box?

Perhaps because I didn't restart my mac today, I downloaded Balena and The Unarchiver but never did a restart. I am now trying to grab the unzipped file and just drop it onto the now formatted / erased sd card. Bypassing Balena etcher. No idea if this will work. If not I'll try to restart the mac and try Balena again.
