I'm not Catholic and I always used to get buffled when Catholics would say that the Roman Catholic church offers mankind the highest key of knowledge about the spiritual and natural aspects of life both in the present and distant future and never fully grasped what that statement entelled but after watching and listening to this channel I can boldly say that I think now I comprehend what the gist of that statement that I have been hearing growing up really meant,May Almighty God Father Son Holy Spirit keep and preserve his Holy Catholic and Apostolic church to ages infinite, AMEN 🙏
I had somehow come across this video a couple years ago and last night spent hours searching for it until 4AM. No luck. I went to bed with a prayer and heart full of frustration. This morning when I woke up, the lyrics came to me and I found it within 5 minutes. This is one of my favorite arrangements, thank you!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Ye sons and daughters, let us sing! The King of heav’n, the glorious King, O’er death today rose triumphing. Alleluia! That Easter morn, at break of day, The faithful women went their way To seek the tomb where Jesus lay. Alleluia! An angel clad in white they see, Who sat, and spoke unto the three: “Your Lord has gone to Galilee.” Alleluia! On this most holy day of days, To God your hearts and voices raise, In laud, and jubilee and praise. Alleluia!

Verse 2: That Easter morn, at break of day, The faithful women went their way To seek the tomb where Jesus lay. Alleluia! Verse 3: An angel clad in white they see, Who sat and spake unto the three, "Your Lord doth go to Galilee." Alleluia! Verse 4:When Thomas first the tidings heard, How they had seen the risen Lord, He doubted the disciples' word. Alleluia! Verse 5: "My piercèd side, O Thomas, see, And look upon my hands, my feet; Not faithless but believing be." Alleluia! Verse 6: No longer Thomas then denied; He saw the feet, the hands, the side. "Thou art my Lord and God!" he cried. Alleluia! Verse 7: How blest are they who have not seen And yet whose faith hath constant been, For they eternal life shall win. Alleluia! Verse 8:On this most holy day of days, To God your hearts and voices raise In laud and jubilee and praise. Alleluia! This hymn is a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and is commonly sung with great joy during the Easter season in the Roman Catholic Church.
Can you share the arrangement? We use a chamber orchestra together with the organ for the Easter Mass, and would be great to have the strings and winds play this arrangement.
The lyrics come from two sources; "O filii et filiae" (O Sons and Daughters) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_filii_et_fili%C3%A6 attributed to Catholic Franciscan friar Jean Tisserand (died 1497) and "Easter Alleluia" by Marty Haugen in 1986 www.giamusic.com/store/resource/easter-alleluia-print-g3594 The original melody is from "O filii et filiae." I don't know where the translation of some of the verses of "O filii et filiae" come from; it looks like the first and last stanzas are anonymous www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/O_sons_and_daughters,_let_us_sing!_(Anonymous) and the others are by J. M. Neale hymnary.org/text/o_sons_and_daughters_let_us_sing Refrain: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia! x2 ----- Tisserand ----- 1. Oh sons and daughters, let us sing! Glory to God who does wondrous things Let all the people His praises now sing, All of creation in splendour shall ring Alleluia! 5. Call us, Good Shepherd we listen for you Wanting to see you in all that we do, We would the gate of salvation pass through Alleluia! 7. Lord, we are open to all that you say, Ready to listen and follow your way, You are the potter and we are the clay Alleluia! 8. Someone else didn't read Sacrosanctum Concilium either. "The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services. But other kinds of sacred music, especially polyphony, are by no means excluded from liturgical celebrations, so long as they accord with with the spirit of the liturgical action, as laid down in Art. 30." (Chapter VI of Sacrosanctum Concilium)
What gives u the false presupposition that drums and clapping make it “irreverent”? The song isn’t necessarily suppose to directly convey reverence, it’s a song about the sheer overwhelming insane joy that Jesus Christ the Son of God has risen from the dead and that everything we are to live for has come full circle in its manifestation of the Resurrection

Inspired by a medieval dance music , than a liturgical music that is more fitting for a liturgical celebration.
Your telling me that there is a pipe organ in this church and they’re using guitars and drums instead.
I’m with you on that one… however, they did do a good job with the drums and guitar… sounds like a song from a medieval tale or something
Someone didn’t read Sacrosanctum Concilium…chant is proper to the liturgy, nothing else.
Someone else didn't read Sacrosanctum Concilium either.

One sister's dress is very bad
Stop making it sound like Pirates of the Caribbean music. It needs to be reverent. No clapping and guitars

All instruments resound the praise of the risen king 👑 our lord Jesus ❤️❤️❤️
Psalm 150:4 “Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!” to sing praises to our God along with us!
