Great guide, thank you. The Cardo Freecom 4x fit my new Shoei NRX2 size L. However, I do feel the clamp pushing my left ear to cause a snug fit. Hopefully it'll settle as the helmet foam breaks in!
Thanks for the tutorial! Installed mine (FREECOM 2X) with the clip on, on a size large SHOEI RF1400. Works perfectly, doesn't feel like it's changing the fit. You just have to fiddle a bit with it till it sits right.
You should try to route the right side speaker wire between the headliner and the very top of your helmet if possible. This wire also acts as an antenna for your FM radio. Create an "S" pattern as you're routing the wire back to the left side to the connector.
I installed mine today and I really wish I read this comment before I got started. I didn't even know there was an FM tuner till I did the install on my phone. Oh well I guess I can go back and redo it. It really wasn't that hard to install either, I don't know what all the big fuss was over the RF 1400
@@robertfreyer5748 I wish I had known prior to install myself. Still haven't gotten around to moving the wire. No rush I suppose, still pretty rainy here in Seattle.
How has the Cardo freecom 4X been overall now that you’ve had it in there a while? Looking to get one soon for my RF 1400 as well. Thanks for the vid it was great.
The few installation videos I've seen, the guys chose to use the adhesive to set the main unit. I saw something about the clip and discomfort, is that not the case?
I don't have any issues with it at all. In fact, hadn't even thought about it until you mentioned it. Don't think I've ever even noticed it was there. I have a big head though, and my helmet is an XXL. Possible it could be different on the smaller shell sizes maybe?
Great video. I just ordered the same unit for my RF-1400 and was hoping the unit would fit with the clip. I'm curious if you have trouble getting the helmet on with earplugs. I use earpeace plugs and the helmet always shifts them slightly when I put it on.
I use surefire earplugs and occasionally they grab a bit if I'm not careful putting it on. The speakers also sit pretty much right on my ear with the helmet on but I don't really notice it after a few minutes. The sound is also wayyy better than my gt air 2 with the integrated sena

You bet! Glad it helped!
Thanks for the vid, my dude.

Absolutely brilliant tip! Thank you. I'll definitely give this a try.

Can you pair the cardo with a gopro and use it as your external wireless microphone?
