I also was wondering the same thing what date do you use as your wedding date. But your explanation of a church ceremony under God. My family member did the same thing. She got married at the courthouse to make sure that she was legally married and then went to Cancun to get married. I like your flowers and dress. There’s the civil side of marriage & the covenant side of marriage. And for Christians the covenant is the most meaningful! So I totally get how it did not take away from the wedding. My husband forgot the marriage license so on the last day of our honeymoon we got LEGALLY married at a little chapel in Gatlinburg TN 😂

I don't see why you wouldn't celebrate your courthouse ceremony as your actual date of marriage, I mean to each their own but by paperwork thats the date you are legally signed married by the judge and everything etc. So I would say that if anything is your first official day as man and wife in the eyes of the state. Again to each their own. My husband and did both the courthouse and the big ceremony, we count our courthouse ceremony as our day of marriage starting as that's when all the paperwork was filed and officiated etc and our big ceremony was like a year and half later just for show since no one could really be at our wedding since it was last minute (Military).

it depends if you do the paperwork correctly in Mexico. We are not going through the trouble of doing that, that is why we married before hand instead :)
