the above trick might not be 100% fix but if RCA cable is replaced and an external mic is added then it will give 100% improvement in mic volume.
In my case work. Firstly I did cut external RCA microphone and soldered directly on multi-connector pins. Secondly desoldered a built-in microphone (very simply operation). Then, Dont't forghet to wrap wires with alluminium thin foil and linked to the ground in order to shield from pick-up noise. Now works perfectly (my setting levels follow above values indicated from SP'S tech). Thanks.

@@tanasiciucovidiu I have no photos. Anyway you should have a necessary competence to do this. Simply avoid native connector and solder directly cable. Nothing more. After, For all connection that suffer radio interference you may to insulated cable , generally. I some cases I used a thin alluminium foil wrapped completely external cable and follow with scotch tape to maintain shape. Link aluminium foil with negative earth. Now, If someone didn't understand then is better to give up any approach on it, in order to avoid additional dangerous situation.

It might be due to hardware issue such as faulty inbuilt microphone. Another way to test inbuilt microphone is use voice recorder app and then for voice clarity and volume. If the issue exist then i would suggest you to add external mic.
It will not let me enter the Engineer Mode.
It is asking me to enter the developer options

For that Go to android setting under that check for about device and then tap on build number 9-10 time to unlock developer options

Good video, thank you. One of the issues I see with the Chinese Android HU is the lack of documentations, and this type of videos are greatly appreciated. I just got a YT7260B with firmware J1.73, and one of the mayor problems I have is with phone calls quality. When I am on a call, I can hear the person OK, but they can’t hear me clear, he hears me with echoes and noise, it is like talking over a fan. The vendor recommends getting an ext. Mic, but some people are saying that an ext. Mic will not solve it, it must be with some setting or an interference with other Apps like Google assistance and “Hey Google”, that need to be off. I disabled it, but it did not solve my issue. I am wondering if anyone can give me some directions on addressing this issue. Thanks in advance.
Internal mic does catches noises so i would suggest you to go with external mic and use mic settings from video.
@@SPSTECH I just installed an external Mic, I had to use one of the RCA cable for the microphone and modify to make it work, I used Mic -, Mic + did not work. I did not make any change in the setting. I think it solve my problem, I need to do more testing. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much, it was a great help! It works! Interestingly, I have both internal and external microphones, but the change can be felt on the outside (although I have to turn the setting on). If I set it up, nothing works. If I set it on the inside, the outside goes and it fixed it. The point is that it has improved a lot! Thanks!

Hello, facing serious issues of noises and distorted mic audio on BT calls using internal or external mic. It's very hard to others to understand me when I'm talking but I can hear the calls clearly. The problem occurs only during driving, when I stop the car everything is perfect. I've already tried to replace the external mic and got the same results. The head unit is Joying JY-UQ135N4G-DA but I don't find any engineering mode as shown in the video to change mic sensitivity. Is it possible to configure mic settings in Joying head units?
This seems strange but first check with wiring as the issue exist only while driving.
If that doesnt help I'll look for joying headunit and see if microphone sensitivity can be adjusted or not.
@@SPSTECH I've used CONNECTS2 adapter with appropriate patch lead so I don't think wiring is an issue here. Appreciate if you can check if Joying head unit is configurable or not. Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't understand this... What are those numbers that you shared in the description? And the one that says "Max vol. 0-160" is grayed out on 128 and never changes... And this is the only parameter that refers to the volume.

If external mic is not detected I would recommend yout to check wiring once and if both mic are detected then desoldering internal mic from board can help.

Values for mic can be set till 255 check if mic settings are selected.

Hi friend, in the same menu you can change the default volume of the radio. I don’t see where to reduce the default volume on 15 to hight. In Factory settings if I change it returns to 15 when a restart the unit.

Thanks for the advice! However, my volume setting at Volume Level 1 is too high (level 1 sounds like it should be 6 or higher). Is this the same menu to adjust the minimum volume level as well?
In factory settings check for power amplifier settings.

I plugged an external mic in and it doesn’t work at all. Internal mic does work. I have set all permissions for apps but external mic won’t work. Any ideas?
This issue might occur hecause of faulty rca cable.
To verfiy check and mic testing app from playstore and check if the app displays 2 mic that is one internal and another external mic
I've soldered the mic to the board. But i suspect it is still getting the input from the internal mic

Maybe a polarity issue? Try to soalder it the other way?
Yes it might be polarity issue or simply remove the internal mic from for that you might need to desold the inbuilt mic.

If the app detects two mic then wiring harness is working if it detects only internal mic i would recommend to change wiring harness.

From playstore download microphone amplifier app. In that it will show you mic that are connected if external mic is not detected then something is wrong with wiring but if its detected then it should automatically activate when receive any call.

You need to change the rca cable with dedicated mic port then external mic will work.

I get asked to turn on developer mode before I can fix the microphone. How do I do this if I don’t have an android phone
Go to android setting(not car settings) there scroll down till about device/phone. Click on that and then find build number tap 7 times on it and you'll get a message that says "you are a developer now"
@@SPSTECH thanks, I got into the mic settings but whenever I change the level, it says “successful” but then when I leave the screen the mic level is exactly the same. I then go back into the settings and it has reset back to level 1 or whatever it has been on.
@@Ben-xe7bp i would suggest perform a factory data reset on the device then try to set mic settings again. I'm sure that should work else drop a comment and I can provide a firmware update for this device.
All better. Got in with your excellent instructions. One more question. What are the best settings for the mic settings. I set mine on Level 5 -233. Feedback is the caller can hear me now but still sounds distorted or far away. What would be the best settings for loudness and clarity?
Go with higher volume levels 255 and check is the voice is still distorted then add external mic for clear voice.

Go to android settings
Click on about device
There you can find build number, tap it multiple times until you get a message that say's "You are a developer now".
Once done with these steps retry all the steps from video you might see the missing option.

If you have connected external mic and still internal mic is active that means there is fault in wiring. If external mic is detected then automatically internal mic is disable to get a quick check. Visit playstore and download any mic(audio)recording app and check if the app displays both internal and external mic

There is a lag in voice in my case during the phone call. What is reason for that. I have external mic connected as shown but everyone complains i am cutting off during call.
How much the ram of your unit? I heard it may be due it
Even if your device has 1gb ram its sufficient and should cause a lag in voice during call. Check for background apps which are running try in both cases
1. With no other app running and check voice lag on call.
2. With apps like navigation or any other that youvuse frequently and check voice lag on call.

I had installed woodman X9 Android sound system, after installation that mic voice calling found to low, means outgoing sound not audible. But when the mic comes near the mouth, then audible is clear.

You can check under about device and then see if there you get an option for factory setting.

Check if all the speakers + tweeters are activated and also check with another coupler.

In car settings goto sound settings if equalizers could help.
@@SPSTECH Speakers are fine, when i installed old radio the original one then the sounds good but when i install new stereo then No Bass comes and also volume not increases from phone if i turn on music through Bluetooth
Then the issue might be with sound processors if the device is new try to get replacement.

This improve the quality but along with this settings if external mic is added then it has more clarity.
Will this fix the problem with carplay? When i call over thr headunit Bluetooth it’s fine, when using carplay people can’t hear me

Check the rca cable if the cable is faulty device won't detect the external microphone. You can verify it using various apps on playstore.
Mic recorder app will help you to check number of microphones connected. If it doesnot display 2 microphone then clearly external microphone is not connected.

Try different microphone if that doesn't work try using different rca cable. If microphone is connected then device will automatically swtich to external microphone.
I am using an external dashboard mic but it catches alot of disturbances from surroundings and volume of speaker is very less and unclear. Can you please suggest what can be done ?
Try different different rca cable for that mic else changing the position of mic will help or visit car accessories shop and try another mic if it works then mic is at fault.

I would recommend try factory reset once again and then check apps should work.

After applying required setting reboot the device it will saved them automatically. If you still face error try factory reset or perform software update.
Hello, this trick does not work for me. My unit does come with external mic with rca cable. It doesnt work properly, after many times of factory reset and reboot, i still not able to save the level of sensitivity for MIC as shown in the video. Always stay at Level 0, value 184
Firmware might be at fault since settings are not saved a firmware update might help

Just plug in the external mic and it will be enabled automatically just make sure the position is set according to your vehicle.

The external mic need to be placed in a position such that even if you speak in lower voice it should catch it.
For that either you can place mic on "A" Pillar or in between speedometer and steering wheel and if your car is equipped with inbuilt microphone then simply remove that microphone and place this new external mic in that place.

This default settings are for internal mic and for external mic the sensitivity needs to be increased

I can see the audio settings as per your video and can change type to MIC and choose a level. However I can’t get the settings to save once changes
Try set the levels and check if device reboot helps.
Hello my friend excellent video. I manage to get to the usb settings and all the screens and passwords are the same as your video except once I enter in usb settings it only gives me the option to choose usb 3.0 o 2.1. Do you have any idea how I can get to the engendering option you enter afterwards? I tried the Engineering debug test but it gives you 4 options about the way it starts. If you can give a hand I will appreciate. Thank you very much and thanks for sharing
If that option is missing then either it will be in protocol parament settings if not factory reset the device and check else perform software update this usually get all the missing option/functions of the device

You need to developers options? Then
Go to android settings under that about device and then check for build number tap 6-7 times and then you'll get message "you are a developer" press back once and(in android settings) check developer option will be visible

Go to android setting and then tap build number multiple times. After that, engineering mode will be enabled. Then retry the steps.

Go to about device under android settings then check for build number
Click on it multiple times until you get a message for "You are a developer now" and then follow the steps in video

I have connected external mic and its working great while on call my voice is crisp clear to the person on call use the settings provided.
Also all these device are same only branding is done with different names.

I tried mic of blaupunkt company which comes along with head unit.
@@SPSTECH can i plug mic into a non mic cabled stereo using an android 10 head unit, internal mic on left of unit so to far away, can I plug external into any other spare aux cable, like aux in/out, vid in/out etc
Mic needs to plugged in to its dedicated port. It work won't work if plugged in another port.

You might need to enable developer setting first and then enter engineering mode.
1. Goto android settings --> about phone
2. tap 8 times on build number to get developer settings
3. press back once and click on developer settings navigation through it and check if there is any option on enable engineering mode.
4. Once done with previous steps follow steps in video
Thank you very much for your quick response ! I managed to access the mic option in engineering mode, I select the level, everything is fine but it doesn't seem to apply it.. I don't really have a button to confirm the choice .. i press set and i go back to the previous menu and when i go back to it, it is again on level 0.
i tried to restart but nothing changes .. do you know why? am I forgetting to do something maybe ?
Try factory data reset and then set the desired values and see if the settings are saved or not.
@@SPSTECH Thank you very much for these additional tips. I applied what you told me to try but it is without improvements, the values reset to 0 again when I return to this menu. the mic is still low. I think it's a shame for a built-in microphone in a new device. anyway thank you for your help
What is your device model number ?
Maybe a firmware update might work.

If I talk someone by blutooth connect in car then front person speak that your voice is not clear and extra sound is coming pls help
Okay if that's the case then try different values and test it might happen for your device 190 value will be suitable

if the settings are not saved i would recommend you to try factory data reset and then setting the same settings as in video and see if they are saved or not

Set all values above 200 and then keep on any level to get better voice input/output
