I am a recovering feminist, I grew up believing that being a woman meant being weak, frivolous, and over emotional. Feminism at its core is a deep self-hatred. And our culture we overvalue male personality traits, and belittle feminine traits. Because I did not value those traits in I would suppress them, and try to act more like a man
Praying for a speedy recovery, may you be the beautiful feminine woman God intends for you to be.
Very much the same.
“Recovering feminist”💀💀
Great clip from an amazing interview! Thank you for highlighting this topic!
It's often said that the church imposes these views on women, but I'm serious when I say I came to these realizations as a non believer. Then was led back where I belonged spiritually as well as philosophically,
I just can’t get enough of Abigail. She’s so intelligent and well spoken on topics that she has courage to not just broach but trail blaze.
Women love dominance in men
I dont understand the large tatoos on arms on anyone. I guess i am old school.
It totally ruined mine with my “twin flame “. Wokeness is a cancer
Wait, what?! So, now it's a microagression to compliment a female on what she's wearing?! Please explain.
In Christ,
Andrew
@@robertculling7514 It's not objectifying someone to give them a compliment, but it is projection to portray your offense onto another. I wouldn't get offended, just think it's ridiculous unless the compliment is obviously sleazy. In Christ, Andrew
I'm sorry, but I have a harder time taking any "thinker" seriously when they constantly use the word "like". Using the word "like" every third word makes a person sound like (proper use here) a 13 year old. Can we all start talking like adults again?! Please. It's time. Matt, you need to call this out when it happens on your show. I mean it! It lowers the level of discourse immensely.
Since you are fixated on linguistic perfection, you'll thank me for pointing out that you have a pronoun/antecedent agreement error in your first sentence. Please. Can't we all start writing like adults again!? (And by the way, it's clear that they are having an informal conversation; watch some of Favale's lectures, which operate at a higher level of formality and therefore don't use "like" in the way that so bothers you.) And Favale is totally brilliant--one of the very few Catholic thinkers who speaks intelligently about gender and sexuality in a manner that surpasses the hackneyed left/right divide. I am not sure if you're a Catholic, but if you are, you should be thanking God for her. The church needs more voices like hers.
@@riseaslarks I can’t believe they decided to fixate on her use of that word instead of the points that were made in this interesting discussion. And thank you for pointing out the beautiful irony in the pronoun/antecedent agreement error in their sentence. I mean, only a 13-year-old would make such an elementary mistake so one can only assume that was the commenter’s age after all! 😅
Ok wet blanket comment here, I can agree with the message totally but something is missing, just my gut feeling but I don't believe the guest believes a word she says, word salad comes to mind. I hope I'm wrong but even with a great, needed message something is off with their conversations I've seen
Maybe the hesitancy you are picking up from her is her trying to word things very precisely. It's easier to pick up her style in the entire interview
