i love how the early Infernal Love performances (mainly Me Vs. You & A Moment Of Clarity) really stand out in comparison to this Troublegum-laced set, even in their really early stages. just proves how much darker Infernal Love is than Troublegum - sure, Troublegum was dark, bitter and angry (Knives, Unbeliever, Unrequited, Brainsaw) but IF takes that to another level by being more twisted and miserable (AMOC, Bowels Of Love, Bad Mother, Me Vs. You)!
Totally. The rage and fury give way to a kind of plaintive resignation. I've always thought the two albums compliment each other thematically. Troublegum chronicles adolescent anxiety and frustration, while Infernal Love explores the same territory from an older perspective. Love 'em both equally, though.
