      @@daniilmurray3751 Here’s a little snippet of Ukrainian history under the Russian Empire and of the forced Russification:
      1720 - Peter I's decree banning printing in the Ukrainian language and the seizure of Ukrainian church books.
      1729 - Peter II ordered decrees and orders written in Ukrainian be rewritten in Russian.
      1763 - Catherine II's decree banning the teaching in Ukrainian in Kiev-Mohyla Academy.
      1769 - Prohibition of the Synod of Ukrainian print and use the primer.
      1775 - The destruction of the Zaporozhian Sich and closing of Ukrainian schools at the offices of the Cossack regiment.
      1832 - Reorganization of education in Ukraine on the empire-wide principles and transforming all teaching into Russian language
      1847 - The crackdown on the Brotherhood of Cyril and Methodius and increased persecution of the Ukrainian language and culture, the prohibition of the best works of Shevchenko, Kulish, Kostomarov and others.
      1862 - Closing Ukrainian Sunday schools for adults.
      1863 - Valuev Circular prohibiting censors from giving permission to the publication of Ukrainian spiritual and popular educational literature: "there was, is not and could not have been a separate Little Russian language".
      1864 - Adoption of the Charter of the primary school at which education was to be conducted only in Russian.
      1876 - Alexander II's Ems decree banning the printing and import from abroad of any Ukrainian literature, and to ban Ukrainian stage performances and Ukrainian lyrics in music scores, that is folk songs.
      1881 - Prohibition of teaching in the public schools and conducting church sermons in Ukrainian.
      1888 - Decree by Alexander III banning the use of the Ukrainian language in official institutions and of Ukrainian given names.
      1892 - Prohibition to translate books from Russian into Ukrainian.
      1895 - Prohibition by the Main Administration of Printing to publish Ukrainian-language children's books.
      1911 - Resolution VIIth congress of the nobility in Moscow's only Russian-language education and the inadmissibility of the use of other languages in schools in Russia.
      1914 - Nicholas II’s decree prohibiting Ukrainian press.

    • @abdulmasaiev9024
      @abdulmasaiev9024 2 роки тому

      Those quotes are kind of in contradiction. Russia's pretty big, if it's just Putin that bothered you, you could have stayed in it and moved a bit to a different part. Yet obviously the whole thing was going corrupt which understandably means you'd want to get out. But then when we take the second quote. While "we didn't start this war" is true when "we" refers to the people who left, the second part is "it's Putin's war" and suddenly the rest of Russia disappears from the picture so that Putin can be the one and only bad actor? The fact is he's not doing it alone and he's not even doing it with anything less than enthusiastic support from the Russians that didn't leave Russia. Not all of them, but generally speaking they're for it, voluntarily painting their Zs all over the place. "It's Putin's war" is disingenous to the extreme.

      Chicken Kiev or chicken Kyiv is a dish made of chicken fillet pounded and rolled around cold butter, then coated with egg and bread crumbs, and either fried or baked. Stuffed chicken breast is generally known in Ukrainian and Russian cuisines as côtelette de volaille

      Possibly. But did you hear them say that they are sorry for the atrocities their country is doing in Ukraine? Many Russians just say they are against the war, which most westerners will interpret as condemning Russia. What they really mean, is that they would like Ukraine to surrender to Russia.

    • @abdulmasaiev9024
      @abdulmasaiev9024 2 роки тому

      Most Russians support Putin, his war and even the idea of starting further wars. We shouldn't villify them by default since some do protest against this and take incredible risks in doing so (and also that this mostly applies to Russians within Russia, those living outside it are a completely different case), but the stance of "oh no these sweet poor innocent Russians the things Putin is forcing them to do" is absurd. Going by the numbers (58% for the war, 23% against it, according to a recent independent poll), the common Russians are as a cohort Putin's enthusiastic collaborators.
