I was abused as a child, mostly emotionally but sometimes physically. The impact that neglect has had throughout my life is profound! My father was an Alcoholic, and I too became an alcoholic. My mental health suffered for decades because of the lack of security I endured as a child and even now, when I see a child at risk. I am mentally tossed back in time. It has taken years and therapy to overcome my lack of self-esteem. I am a grateful recovering Alcoholic and father living in sobriety!
