The Dubliners.. introduced to their music at 7yr old! I'm 44 and still playing their music in 2024! Legends of Dublin Ireland... God bless their souls
This rejuvenates the soul and comforts the mind. Long live The Dubliners.
I COULD LISTEN TO THE DUBLINERS 24/7 UNTIL MY DYING DAYS....SUCH AMAZING MUSICIANS !!!
I do and will, totally agree100%, AMAZING
The DUBLINERS are such great musicians who also could have been actors as well I think Luke Kellyoncedid some acting and possibly John Sheahan
@@Eltonlaleham
Ronnie acted too.
(Barney also played jazz)
who drew those portraits... shocking
What voice Luke Kelly had he was born to sing RIP luke
If there's a better singer than Luke in the history of music I swear I've never heard them.
100%!
When a tear drop fell from this artist eyes, you know his feelings are real and the music come from his heart. And as a spectator you can trouly feel with him.
My god, I was only born in 1978 but I cherish Luke Kelly. I’m a Kerry man so that says a lot !
The whole world should hear Luke Kelly’s voice, he deserves more than an statue, he deserves global recognition, as a wonderful artist and musician.
Luke is barely known outside of Ireland with the exception of America and Australia.........And then you have that TOOL BONO running around the place.....
I’m born in 2008 and ive been listening to Luke for almost 3 years now
any footage of luke and ronnie together is so priceless man, what i’d give for more footage of luke
Today is his death anniversary, but Luke's spirit continue alive in our memories and our hearts forever!
I consider it a great blessing to be able to hear the Dubliners live twice. As someone who has moved between German, Irish, British and Canadian worlds, I can say that the boys have had an extremely positive influence on my life, not just emotionally but in many ways. ♥
Saw them in 1974. Fantastic. Luke had such a stage presence!! And Barney's Fiddler's Green is absolute fantastic
I praise that! I was young when Luke and Ciaran passed but miss them for life!
Luke Kelly. The Performer! Even if he was getting older and might have lost his breath a little. He still is the most talented Irishman I’ve ever seen
The man that brought Irish music too the world. God bless you legend ❤️❤️❤️
The greatest folk singer Ireland ever had. His songs and delivery nobody could be compared with. Delighted he was part of an original group of great guys and brilliant entertainers, who's heart was always in the right place.
R.I.P Luke Kelly, an Irish legend
This lot are defiantly descended from the Vikings
Celtas.🇮🇪
Het cookest
I love when John Sheehan plays alone 💚💚☘️☘️💚💚☘️☘️🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮

RIP/LUKE/RONNIE/BARNEY,
Could listen every day and still be amazed by their talent. Love them all. They were perfect together ☘️☘️💚💚🇨🇮🇨🇮🥰
I just wish this video didn't stop. Like I could just listen to this all of the time. All the time, song after song. God bless this bunch that showed me real music.
Legends never die
I never tire of watching this video. I wish I had been in the audience.

@@paschalleonard8047 It is possible this concert was actually 1982, so perhaps less than 2 years later.
@@Eli-ne3vu Actually if this is September 1982, he died only sixteen months later.
@@shaunmcdonough9016 Exactly
Love Fiddlers Green , my greatest hit but I got it from my 2 fav Dubliners Luke & Barney my idols!
The Dubliners always make me feel Irish My grannies were and one of my granddads to hear their music And I go a place that I feel I came from RIP Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew xxx
These lads are legends!Hope to see their likes again.
Wij mijn vrouw en ik zijn in Alkmaar bij het optreden geweest , Geweldig !!
Simply amazing!🎶
Getting old video footage of not just Barney and John but both Ronnie AND Luke together in the classic lineup (minus Ciaran) is such a gem. Two of the most unmistakable, truly, truly, inimitable voices to ever sing a word existing in the same band still blow my mind, and I'm an American who was 5 months old when this video was recorded and I've been a fan for decades. I always think of Schooner Fare's Fiddlers Green and the Dubs version could not be more different. Same with the Clancys and Finnegan's Wake. The Dubliners were so wonderfully immediate, rough, raw and unpretty, yet gorgeous beyond measure. I was born too late I think somtimes.
Lovely comments for my countrymen. Thank you.
So nice to listen everyday our Loved Dubliners. They 're in my heart and my soul forever. Just only before I could'nt know about these amazing singers. They're unforgetttable. Slainte, my Love irish people for show them to the world.
another world , so beautiful thank you,
this is pure gold here...
how is it these fellas music touches me so?
I've not set foot in Ireland(yet) but listening to these boys, sure feels as if some part of me is over there somewhere
I understand you completely! Their music goes under my skin as well, it is moving, it is fun, it hurts, it soothes.
rich gouette ..The day u do w/b memorable..From a Tourists perspective,Dublin is such an Lovely, vibrant City, with all the History of course..
But if u Drive further south, the Scenary is breathtaking..I live in the States now,but my Family are way down Sw in County Kerry, which will def blow ur mind..
Well if u ever do set foot on our emerald isle u will see pure magic ceol Agus craic
As a London Irishman this is the sound of my youth. My father was born in Thomas street, opposite the Guinness brewery, the Dubliners, the Wolfe tones, the Makems and many more.
Brings a tear to my eyes!
You have Irish in your blood
Barney sails on the Seas.
Helluva lad he was!
lovely, heart-warming music
thank you so much, special for my mother, Luke , Ronny and the other great musicians 1A
Thank you for sharing this rare beauty!
So beautifull, many thanks.
And I agree with other comments. Luke wasn't feeling well at all at this taping. Bless him for pushing through.
Brilliant

Wij waren erbij fantastisch always on my mind...

Helaas. Vind het nu op internet.
So great to see a clip of them with Luke still in the group. Not to take anything away from Sean Cannon, Jim McCann, Paddy Reilly or any of the other great singers the Dubliners have had over the years, but there was never any of them that matched Luke. Ronnie's voice of course was in a class by itself with all the grit and gravel in it. But when you needed a softer, sweeter touch like you do on many songs, Luke was the man. Of course they're both gone now (Luke for many years) along with Ciaran, Barney, Jim, Bob Lynch and most recently Eamon.
Love is a harsh feeling and this is the balm
Thanks!! They was genius! I love The Dubliners!!
The Best ❤
I’m Irish born and bread, i live in California but this takes me home
Superb music in trillions ofways
They were all pissed,I was there ,enjoyed it no end
Only John left from the original boys now.Such is life.Jim.Liverpool.
Yes but we remember all of them!!!!!!
Yes because he was the only one of the Dubliners who led a sober smoke free healthy life
Greats the Marvelous Dubliners 😙💖🤗☘☘☘🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
fiddlers green must be a great place with them all there now
I imagine it's rather loud, all those musicians playing.
John Sheehan's not there yet.
A few of the Dubliners are still alive
Still as good today
Top class and another unsigned up member of the dubs which makes it even more special, love it
among all the dubliners.. I feel Barney has the sweetest voice!
Would have cut off one of my fingers to see these lads play live...
Tom Turesson yes indeed, even two fingers:)
I don’t know if I’d go that far but I was born the year after Luke and I don’t know how I missed them all those years. Thank God I
Happened on them on U-Tube about 6 months ago. I’ve been listening to them at least once a day since then. 🇨🇮🇨🇮☘️☘️💚💚🥰 How lucky 🍀 I was to find them ☘️☘️☘️
@@kathrynlandry-ir8khIf you don't mind me asking, what country are you from? I'm wondering if you might be American or Canadian, because, although The Dubliners did tour in North America a couple of times in the late 60s and did The Ed Sullivan and David Frost shows, they were not as successful over there as they would become in mainland Europe and as a result didn't have the same sort of exposure The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem had. Apart from their popularity in their homeland and Britain, they would become massive in Scandinavia, Holland, Austria and in particular Germany.
Today I learned the Dutch are excellent clappers.
3:28 :-) Luke wasn't expecting someone so close to take a photograph!
yeah I love that!
You can tell Luke's health was deteriorating at this point in time right before he died a few years later
Bedankt voor het weergeven van de opname!
I think this version of whiskey in the jar is one if they best theyve done youve got barney sat there playing something it looks like theyve never heard before
Barney, a man you don't meet every day.
This is so grand, thanx for sharing it!
Imagine seeing this lineup in a room like this…
IAM Scottish but just love The Dubliners Luke a legend with Ronnie I miss you boys
traveller he a man everyone whit a soul
At that a voice on my left asked me what I was having, the face was that of Ronnie Drew !! We had a very enjoyable trip, unfortunately we landed when it was my round. We agreed to meet in the airport bar, now very ashamed I admit to fleeing the airport Leslie Case
The will be gods in time
Was privileged to support them, including Ciaran with my group several times in Belfast in the mid sixties.
Went to their concerts in Zwolle a few times Great!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Entertainment with a capital E - brilliant.
Thank you fore this. 😀😀😀😀
GREAT ALWAYS
no introduction of Barney McKenna?? TV zoals doesn´t know world´s greatest banjo-giant?!?
Best of Dubliners was my nearly first vinyl - bought as a teenie in 1969. :)
@richard ranson: yes, they all belong to fiddler´s green. but seeing and hearing them makes me both, happy and sad in one time.
Glad to see it was not m fault, they really didn't introduce him in the beginning. I love his humour and his banjo playing, both are the reason why I repetitively watch their legendary 40 years anniversary concert.
Barney was the most talented musician there.
As far as I know John Sheahanist still alive, just does not go on tour anymore.
@@brikra4481 John is still with us.
Que bellesa soy argentino en nuestro pais recibimos muchos inmigrantes Irlandeses gracias a dios porque embellecieron nuestra patria
prachtige herinering!
ben bij 2 concerten geweest super gewoon
Maximum lekker
if i could givs it a second thumbs up i would!!!!
I absolutely love the Dubliners. Effortless natural musicianship.
Look at those ruddy cheeks. I bet they got smashed every night and had an absolute ball! God bless em.
Oh they partied hardy than any rockstars. But, it unfortunately took its toll
Like had a terrific voice and and barney's banjo playing first class John an all round musician runny such x great gravel voice they all complimented each other xx ❤
John Sheen is still alive and still playing,he never drank.
Rip Luke and Ronnie
A grand set
Luke Kelly a genius, RIP
I am unwilling to join the controversy over year ‘80’ or ‘82’ but I traveled from London to Dublin at that time. Boarding an AirLingus plane in London with no luggage and sitting down I did not initially notice my travelling company, as the plane left the runway a voice further up the plane demanded service
You know this gang of musicians , that today would be classed as brilliant . talent was too early, for recognition outside of Europe.
just far too early,
Luke just lifting up Barney on the chorus...
RIP Luke Kelly💖💖💖🎉🎉🎉
I was There too, Great concert.
eltse keer wer mooi om te sjen mar foaral om te hearren!
