That jab GSP used is called a "flicker jab". The fist comes from the chest as the arm is extended, sort of like flicking a wet towel. It's from boxing. Commonly used by boxers who like throwing jabs in rapid successions. Tommy Hearns, Floyd Mayweather for example. That's why GSP was special. He really incorporates the best of each martial art.

Good breakdown, but I wish you went into more detail! For example, his opponent's records. People need to know how crazy it was when he beat Fitch and some of these other killers.
Also, his jab broke Koschecks orbital bone. I like how you explained his ability to beat people at their own game.
I wrote this before, but here it is again!
GSP is, in my opinion, the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.
    - Never tested positive for PEDs
    - Avenged all of his losses (in devastating fashion)
    - Won in different eras
    - Beat the best and hungriest fighters
    - Was a role model inside and outside of the octagon
    - Came back from defeat better than ever
    - Was a brilliant tactician
    - 2 division champ
    - 12 successful title defenses
    - Fought killers for most of his career
    - Holds a ton of top 10 statistical records (most wins, win streak, title fight wins, time in octagon, time in control, sig strikes landed, sig strike defence, strikes landed, take downs landed, take down accuracy, and submission attempts)
    - Remember, he was begging the UFC for testing, before most even thought it was an issue
    - Retired ON TOP (this is rare for a fighter)
    - And a lot more
If you doubt that he is the GOAT, you need to go back and watch his fights. He is the MJ of the UFC. #respect

Most people who talk about him said he reached his prime after his retirement. Like we have never seen him at full power.
Was it not for his severe ulcerative colitis where he was bleeding from the inside out, in excruciating pain, not being able to train for many weeks in camps, sleeping bad, eating and drinking bad. He would have been incomparably better than what we saw from him already. And keep in mind even with this he beat people on steroids, he beat bisping after 4.5 years inactivity at the age of almost 40. Despite his entire body betraying him, he became a 2 division champion. That’s what makes him great. I don’t believe any other fighter in the world would have attempted it or could have done what he did.

    • @tbay9543

For me, his MW run decreased his goat status. He fought weakest MW champion, which he was sure he wins. Gsp said that he signed contract and have to defend his title against Whittaker, if he wins vs Bisping. What happened after? He run away with health issues. It's just an excuse. Of course to fight against Bisping he is ok, but against Whittaker not. But for George it's not an excuse, as he say it's a fight game etc. Also against possible fight against Khabib, what he said? "Ufc lied to me that Khabib agreed to fight me, they even didn't ask Khabib" etc. Wtf? Who cares, who agreed first? If you want to fight, just say I open for a possibility, if no say no. As he say it's a fight game etc. But for me he was looking for easy ways. He is WW goat for sure. But Jones, DJ, Cormier are above than Gsp.

GSP is the GOAT until Jones wins the HW title (if he wins the HW title)
    1. GSP 2. Jones 3. Silva... and then the debate starts. I would 100% have Cejudo over DJ for the fact that he was 2 division champ, beat better opponents, and beat DJ when he was in his prime and Cejudo was only really coming into his best.
If Henry beats Aljo for another title then he goes above Silva for me

@joshuae4639 Not in a million years. Low Top 10 for me.
He lost to Cruz at Bantamweight, then the UFC practically invented the Flyweight division for him. He gets an automatic inaugural title shot, draws against Ian McCall. Then he goes on a run of beating journeymen in the weakest division in the UFC (albeit in spectacular fashion). He refused to go up in weight to fight TJ and Cody in their prime and instead chose to chase a pointless record beating cans, even though he was making poor purses and wasn't a PPV draw. Then loses his title to an improved Cejudo and gets traded to ONE.
What about that makes him top 2?🤔

Jon Jones needs to win at HW. If Jones wins the belt then defends 3 or more times, he is all alone at GOAT status.
