OMG I wanted a Tomb Kings army back in the day and this makes me happy to see. The coolest thing was seeing what people scratchbuilt to fill the holes in the model range back when that was a thing.
Big thanks for this vid, really love how the red turned out. I've got a batch of skellies that a friend wants done, you just helped me cut down a lot of time with them. Thanks!!!
Thanks Andy-I have so many original boxes of TK to paint and this has fired me up to start painting them again. Look forward to more Tomb Kings and Dwarfs tutorials.
Tomb Kings are always back. They're mummies! They're known for not being away for millennia. That's exactly the color scheme I like the most for them, even more than the classic teal/gold one. Stunning.
Thanks for the video, great scheme and will look awesome as a painted force. Really good tip at the end re: the standard of painting all the minis in an Old World army. Totally agree, dont work too had on one of many! Woukd love to see some Empire or Wood Elves!
Hello there, you could remove either the spears or the bow piece on the sides of the chariot so you could position the second soldier much easier or with more positional options
Very good paint job. If I want to make my skeletons bone white from the box art, but I want to just stick with contrast paints, should I spray prime wraith bone or white scar, then apply the skeleton horde contrast and just spread it into the crevices? I wish I could find more tomb kings videos that utilize the contrast paints and army painter speed paints
Loving the series. I'm currently working on my first unit of Clanrats. I might do my own little journal video series, especially as I'm dedicating Gnaw-vember to Old World.
I'm personally putting everything on round bases and getting some matching movement trays to run them in either AoS or old world. pretty mich every unit can either be used with bonereapers or gravelords.
Love it! Hope you`ll continue painting moar Tomb Kings, specially wondering about the animated statues, the black green stone is hard mode? Dreamed about having a TK army for years, the day has finally come , and my wallet is weeping. BTW: Bone left in the sun will whiten like crazy.
Excellent tutorial, as usual! If you were to take the chariot to the next level, how would you hide the attachment points on some of the horses' hooves? Would you do dust-cloud effects or substitute thin metal pins in the place of the "plastic rainbows" on the hooves that not touching the ground?
Very nice looking chariot! Personally sticking to bronze weapons and wheels to break up the gold; with purple as the main striking color. My main flavor for the army will be Roman Legionaries, funnily enough the only things I have for it are the Necrosphinx, Warsphinx (as mount for Tomb King), 3 chariots, 1 Liche Priest on foot and some archers so I can have my detachments with the main infantry blocks. Said infantry blocks are coming in the form of the Tomb Kings starter when that restocks cuz I have that on order. Also going to need the main rulebook to cross reference things with my Ravening Hordes and Forces of Fantasy books which came in yesterday. (I have around 10k pts High Elves to rebase and paint, and I'll likely need more basic infantry since I have alot of small units but I wanted Tomb Kings as a fast to paint and get ready for the battlefield army)
Nice paint job. I did a similar "bone + red" scheme for my skeletons, though I used a green + teal wash over bronze metallics, as a cool spot color. I know that Wargames Atlantic (the same folks who made my skeletons) is working on a Skeleton Cavalry/Chariots kit. The sprues are in tooling, from the last update I saw. With options for making a variable combination of Chariots (+crew), Cavalry, or Infantry. The kit is more patterned around Ancient Greece, to match the existing "Ray Harryhausen" skeletons. So it won't be a 1:1 fit to Egyptian style Tomb Kings. But I think it could work well enough to be of use to folks looking to build their Tomb Kings army cheaply. Some may even appreciate the slight thematic variation, to differentiate themselves from other TK armies. (If nothing else, you can always say "It's more inspired by Ptolemaic Egypt").
Great paint job! What do you think about using new seraphon miniatures, like new saurus warriors, slann or aggraddon lancers, in lizardmen army in old world? Whether they are too big to use ine the ranked units??
Great vid, was always a fan of Tombkings, but back in day I went Vampire counts. I once played a friend who played tombkings, after a few turns we called it a draw, just far to many rezing dead minis, it was never gonna end 😅. I'm rly looking forward to more old world vid ❤ I'm going Dwarves this time for the Old World, so any dwarf content, I'm here for it. I know this is not related, but is there a Mordian Iron guard video planned at all as part of your guard regiments videos?
Hi I found your desert bases very cool, could you tell us how did you obtain such good results ? Is it a paint or a preprint base ? Thank you for the video and this guide !
This may be a stupid question, but after you’ve painted the chariot and the riders, how to you glue them on? I assume plastic glue wouldn’t work because of the paint, but maybe I just don’t know.
This is a lovely model and I’m very excited for the old world. However I just admit that it your mini looks odd to me with silver instead of bronze colors on the The weapons.
I hope that TKs aren't part of the (re)release - always feels like a punch to the gut (or lower!) When you've spent big and they re-release 😢 Having said that, I'd be up to buy any rebooted range (if the skeletons are remodelled in the style of Cused City) - sorry to break ranks!
Lookin Good! keep goin keep goin 🙂
Appreciate it very much pal. Your support at the start helped me get here.
Love seeing the old Tomb Kings, I always felt bad when the first model I killed on the table was the hierophant
You monster.
I'll never get tired of how good a red and gold colour scheme looks for literally every army. Great work!
Right? Honestly can’t think of any army it doesn’t look good on!
OMG I wanted a Tomb Kings army back in the day and this makes me happy to see. The coolest thing was seeing what people scratchbuilt to fill the holes in the model range back when that was a thing.
Yes I can’t wait to see all the new armies showing up online.
Love the red! Such a simple but well executed paint scheme. Lovely job!!
Thanks so much!
love these old world videos, bringing me back to my childhood.
It’s been so nice making the videos and having the excuse to pull out all my old stuff 😄
Cheers Andy! Love the old world videos 👍🏼
Thanks so much Scroggie!
I am right now painting High Elves Phoenix guard and I would really love to watch you take on High Elves.
I will be doing some high elves soon. I everybody loves high elves.
Big thanks for this vid, really love how the red turned out. I've got a batch of skellies that a friend wants done, you just helped me cut down a lot of time with them. Thanks!!!
Love it! Good luck with them and enjoy!
Amazing scheme and model, wow that's a huge and amazing collection! Can't wait to see you paint blocks of chaos warriors!
Cheers pal. Can’t wait to see it myself lol.
Thanks Andy-I have so many original boxes of TK to paint and this has fired me up to start painting them again. Look forward to more Tomb Kings and Dwarfs tutorials.
Yesss love to hear that! Plenty more videos and motivation on the way for you!
Great work as always thank you also for giving me confidence in starting and painting my black templars
Aw that’s so good to hear! Thanks for letting me know that!
Tomb Kings are always back. They're mummies! They're known for not being away for millennia.
That's exactly the color scheme I like the most for them, even more than the classic teal/gold one. Stunning.
Haha true, they were just having a wee nap!
Red and gold always seems so opulent so I think it suits them well!
Loving the Old World videos!
Awesome to hear that!
This look great! I’ve been working on TK and Brets trying to get ready for release (at least have some stuff painted anyway).
Nice pal.
Thanks for this motivational painting video for an above average Tomb Kings enjoyer but a very average painter! Cheers! :D
Glad you enjoyed it! There’ll be more coming soon, and I have the necrosphinx done too!
Honestly, I would most like to see your Empire Army’s color scheme, miniature line, how you design banners, theme, etc. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, you’ll definitely see it at some stage!
I love the look. A whole army would look fantastic
Yep, I have a lot to paint!
Always like your work. Absolutely bored to tears by everyone talking about Old World, but hoping it goes well for everyone.
Why would you watch the video and then comment if your sick of it lol.
Thanks for the video, great scheme and will look awesome as a painted force. Really good tip at the end re: the standard of painting all the minis in an Old World army. Totally agree, dont work too had on one of many!
Woukd love to see some Empire or Wood Elves!
You will see both for sure. That’s a promise.
Great video Andy, very nostalgic.
Cheers pal.
I bought the army book from (I think) 7th edition since I loved the art and have to say I'm really looking forward to the Old World starter box!
I’m hoping it’s shown off in the reveals in 2 weeks! 🤞
Very simple but great looking!
Thanks so much man
Boy that takes me back. Used to run an only-mounted TK army. One of my favs from Fantasy.
Aw love it! They’re so cool
Hello there, you could remove either the spears or the bow piece on the sides of the chariot so you could position the second soldier much easier or with more positional options
Yeah after trying to wrangle these two on their chariot I definitely need to do something differently for the rest. Great ideas there thank you!
Fun stuff. I still got most of my dark elfs army from the 90s and early 2000s. Think i will paint them up
Yes please do! They deserve some time in the sun!
I love the tomb kings
They are so cool, so nostalgic now too
Very good paint job. If I want to make my skeletons bone white from the box art, but I want to just stick with contrast paints, should I spray prime wraith bone or white scar, then apply the skeleton horde contrast and just spread it into the crevices?

Yoke, the horse bridle-bit that attaches the horses to the chariot is the yoke (no joke!).
😂 thanks man
Very cool
Thanks man
Think I’m going to use this scheme for my Tomb Kings box this Saturday
Oh awesome! Tag me if you post them anywhere, would love to see them!
@@MediocreHobbies no problem. Though I might add some turquoise for the more classic look.
Loving the series. I'm currently working on my first unit of Clanrats. I might do my own little journal video series, especially as I'm dedicating Gnaw-vember to Old World.
Oh you so should never to much content for people. We always want more.
@MediocreHobbies awesome I'll do it for my next unit which is 10 more Stormvermin.
I'm personally putting everything on round bases and getting some matching movement trays to run them in either AoS or old world. pretty mich every unit can either be used with bonereapers or gravelords.
Such a good idea. I’m making some of those trays for my AOS goblins. I want to play them in old world but don’t want to paint the same army again.
More Tomb Kings is always good!!
Agreed. And you will get more for sure
Love it! Hope you`ll continue painting moar Tomb Kings, specially wondering about the animated statues, the black green stone is hard mode? Dreamed about having a TK army for years, the day has finally come , and my wallet is weeping.
BTW: Bone left in the sun will whiten like crazy.
Thanks so much! And yes more tutorials incoming, I know the black stone look is hard to work out! Any other specific requests just let me know!
Dwarfs is the army for me!
An awesome choice!
By Ptra, that's a beautiful chariot!
Hahahah cheers pal.
I am hoping this upcoming reveal shows off the tomb kings. I have a tomb king army but would like to see some plastics like ushabtis.
I know…we gotta see some tomb kings right, they’re going to be out soon enough, we wanna see models already!
If the rumors about the OW starter box are true I plan on collecting TK as my old world army. I really enjoyed this video and look forward to more.
Love to hear that! Hopefully we’ll see more details at the next reveal 🤞
Did you do flesh shade on the base too?
Excellent tutorial, as usual! If you were to take the chariot to the next level, how would you hide the attachment points on some of the horses' hooves? Would you do dust-cloud effects or substitute thin metal pins in the place of the "plastic rainbows" on the hooves that not touching the ground?
You’re asking the wrong channel for that 😄
@@MediocreHobbies Doh!
😉
A great video. Thank you for posting this. Question: did you use the Reikland Flashshade over the entire model, or just the red and gold parts?
Whole model.

Your army is going to look ace.
Alright time to go through a bin I have of old hammer figs to clean up repair and repaint too
Yesss you gotta do it!
@@MediocreHobbies I'm going to try and film it too

Mantic's empire of dust range is a great option. It's on my shortlist for kings of war.
That sounds very interesting. Can’t wait to see it.
Great paint job! What do you think about using new seraphon miniatures, like new saurus warriors, slann or aggraddon lancers, in lizardmen army in old world? Whether they are too big to use ine the ranked units??
I have indeed been thinking about this. And I’m really not sure.
Hi I have a question: i want a blue chariot instead of red, what color can I use?
Cool tutorial as always 😉
Talasar blue is probably where I would go.

It is indeed planned. But I don’t own a single mordian model. It’s the only gap in my guard range lol.

I got through the basing scheme in the video!

@MediocreHobbies oh thanks a lot. I will follow your guides for my TK army. Thanks for your great job for beginners like me.
Yay I get play tomb kings again thank you god
I know!! Such a cool army, so happy they’re back!
What’s the point of attaché them to the bases if GW haven’t released yet the base sizes yet ? A part for the 25mm ?
Did you watch the video? 😄
This may be a stupid question, but after you’ve painted the chariot and the riders, how to you glue them on? I assume plastic glue wouldn’t work because of the paint, but maybe I just don’t know.
I use super glue! And it’s not a silly question at all, never worry about that!
Isn't 'Old World' on square bases, or did they change that? I haven't been tracking it at all.
Correct!
Oh snap sand boys !
Hahaha yup
The part used to attach the horses to the chariot is called a yoke
Yes! Thank youuuu
good video
Cheers pal.
This is a lovely model and I’m very excited for the old world. However I just admit that it your mini looks odd to me with silver instead of bronze colors on the The weapons.

Empire please!
I have 1400pts of painted emperors so yes I can do that for you.
Awesome, thank you!@@MediocreHobbies
Its called an Aurigae.
Thank you!
I am far too excited for Old World. Have a couple of armies ready to go and the rules so far look good.
Yeah I’ve loved everything I’ve read so far with the rules too, just counting down the weeks now!
Because I enjoy your channel and painting, even though the medium in this case is not my favorite. Terribly sorry.
Haha fair, I only meant because if you interact with old world stuff UA-cam will keep showing you old world 😂 appreciate you still watching though
