Had one of my first drinks, a Mai Tai, at the Neon Cactus when I turned 21. The coolest thing to me was to have a drink at Disneyland (well the hotel) wasn't until years later I was lucky enough to enjoy a martini in Club 33 . Great memories 🤙
How come the late 90s isn't very long ago at all yet it looks so old. I went to Disneyland many times in the 90s and I swear I don't remember it looking this long ago lol. Wild
Yes! Goofy’s later encroached upon the laidback villa verde restaurant. Now the villa verde patio is a stroller parking lot. ;). At least they’ve reopened the bar outside of steakhouse 55. Too bad the 55 is still closed. They desperately need an alternative restaurant (sans characters) back there again.
This is the hotel of my childhood. In that incarnation, last stayed there in 1992. I remember shopping in Mickey's Corner, and I believe we dined in the Monorail Cafe. I have photos in one of the smaller pools or hot tubs, but that was by the beach by the marina, I believe. Definitely ate at Goofy's Kitchen. I also remember playing arcades underwater in front of the Marina Tower. Hard to find video of that. But by far my favorite memory was the original World of Color, as I call it: the Fantasy Waters show.
i stayed at a disneyland hotel in early 90s (born 1987 san diego) with parents and uncle aunt and i remember we all talked aboit how over priced it was since we lived in san diego 1.5 hrs away anyway and we coulda just driven home ...
So the shot at the very end, that’s where the downtown Disney monorail station is today, right? I thought I remembered shops and things *right there* at the monorail station…
thank you so much for uploading this! been looking for footage like this!!!
Much better than than now

It was long ago. It just doesn’t feel like it for those who experienced it
Childhood! I was born in 1992 and raised in Anaheim just minutes from Disneyland. Anaheim is still the same today lol
SO MUCH BETTER BACK THEN.THEY RUINED THE DISNEYLAND HOTEL.
0:52 I will only use local acts for animation for this reason
Did a ton of line dancing back in the 90's at the neon cactus!
Another wonderful video.
wow, I had forgotten that Goofys kitchen used to be over in that corner.
