Remember, this footage was taken prior to the Monorail extension to the Disneyland Hotel in 1961. This was the main way to go from the Hotel into Disneyland Park...unless you wanted to walk.

This promotional film was created to showcase the facilities at the early 1960s Disneyland Hotel for prospective convention customers. The first Tower building was under construction in its later phases of building so that puts part of this film at mid 1962 but other parts of this footage were shot earlier in the fall of 1961, most notably the groundbreaking celebration for the Tower constructi...

1965 Home Movies of Disneyland Hotel & Disneyland
Переглядів 839Рік тому
Family movies are so fun as they often times film things that aren't normally seen. Has to be December of 1965 as construction is visible on the Plaza Building at the Disneyland Hotel which started at that time. Disneyland is also all decked out in Christmas decorations and the large star sits atop Matterhorn Mountain. So many memories in this one from when I was much younger and experiencing D...

Disneyland Hotel Footage from August 1999

This footage was shot literally hours before the last pieces of the original shops and restaurant sections of the Original Disneyland Hotel were demolished. Too many memories in this one including a vacant Goofy's Kitchen, a closed Monorail Cafe and also internal areas of the upstairs between the shops and restaurants. This is real rare footage of a sad time in the Hotel's history. Also footage...

These were the pre-Monorail days at the Disneyland Hotel so you had to catch a tram over to the Magic Kingdom. This was a very exciting time for Disneyland as it had just added several new "E" Ticket attractions (including new E tickets in the ticket book) in the Matterhorn, Submarine Voyage and the inter-Disneyland Monorail to name a few. Crystal clear photography (filmed by Jack & Bonita Wrat...

The first part of the celebration included playing the Hotel's miniature golf course which had just opened earlier that year. I believe that was my mom dancing the Tahitian dance at the end of the video. Victorine Tepiu Richmond, one of the first immigrants to come to Anaheim from the islands of Tahiti with my father, Max Richmond. So beautiful to see this footage of her doing what she loved, it’s been 11 years since she passed, and my father passed in 2006. Such fond memories of them and I’m happy to see she lives on in this video. Thank you so much for sharing ❤❤

We stayed at the hotel for a few days during this time. I remember feeling so sad about the changes. I grew up loving this hotel. If I remember correctly the Monorail would go forward into the park and travel in reverse back to the hotel. I really miss the horseshoe falls and the dancing waters, and especially the Monorail Cafe. I have so many great memories of them.
