I must also say that LEGO DC Supervillains did a really good job of recreating the art style bread collection and Character selection but... IT DID NOT HAVE KILLER MOTH!!!!!!! still really enjoyed the game looking forward to one hundred percenting that game!
I love the lego batman videogame, it's most likely the game that influenced me the most when I was a little kid, the music is so incredible good and the whole atmosphere emerging from an Culmination of setting and the fler of the technical limitation crafts an unforgettable gaming experience and limetless nostalgia.
Some of the grapple animations are spectacularly brutal. The one where Killer Croc drops people on their head, the one where Bane snaps people in two over his knee, Joker's electric handshake, etc.
This game introduced me to Batman, when I was about six years old. Ever since, Batman has been one of my favorite stories, and as a professional actor, a big dream of mine is to one day appear in a Batman film.
My same aged son just told me he has a 2 and a 3 on the XBOX, and he expressed there's another one. LOL I never realized I didn't buy 1, and I think it's because I had it on a tablet, when I actually had to help him play when he was 3. At 6, I no long need to help him anymore except for sliding puzzle logic. Just bought it for him today on XBOX. (I have it upscaled to 1440p through an MClassic, so it looks great)
It's understandable that Eyezayer can only upload every once and a while. This man is literally out here spitting facks about the OG videogames early 2000s zoomers love but have temporarily forgotten.
I literally just bought this game again on PS3 because of your videos on it. It's a favorite of mine from my childhood and I'm so pleased to see how well it holds up. This game is like the perfect blend of the animated series and the original movies, this was the first Batman game that made me "feel like Batman".
My favorite thing about this game is the art direction. It was able to combine the dark, gothic, Art Deco, noirish design of Tim Burton’s Gotham with the more colorful and vibrant design of Joel Schumacher’s Gotham and make it work
The ambience of Lego Batman 1 has never been matched in any other Lego video game. If you gave me the ambience + simplicity of Lego Batman 1 and Lego Batman 2 depth, it would be incredible. Great review 👍
Your series on this game made me go back and buy all of the Lego Batman games and 100% complete them and it was a really fun 2 months of collecting gold bricks lol thank you for all of your amazing videos
Awesome video man. I love it when really comedic UA-camrs get serious for a moment and talk about their passions or whatever, but they still keep it entertaining. You're genuinely one of my favorite channels for this kind of vibe!
Honestly coming from a nostalgic point of view, the thing that stands out the most by far in my opinion is how simplistic the game is. Most games and movies today always have a hidden meaning, always have new villains and giant plans to destroy the whole fucking universe. It feels so nostalgic just to go back and chase after crooks who are robbing a bank or stealing an old ladies purse. Because as kids that was all we knew, we didn’t focus on all of this lore throughout stories. LEGO Batman perfects that. And despite it releasing later than Indie and Star Wars, it feels more nostalgic because of this. However, I completely agree with what Eyezayar is saying, it has this eerie vibe to it but makes even a smaller audience enjoy that vibe.
Lego Batman is the most underrated lego game. Everyone talks about Lego Star Wars the complete saga. No one talks about Lego Batman. This game is the best lego game, pure art, and to say the comedy in the cutscenes is fantastic is an understatement worthy of locking you up in a cell in Arkham Asylum. Pure Shakespearean craft, without dialogue. The gameplay is phenomenal, and so are (most of) its levels. (I’m looking at you, Penguin’s lair. Man, that is a terrible level) I loved this game as a kid and to see you praise it this much made me so overjoyed. Love your videos, man. Every single video this man makes is a masterpiece
I think lego batman's 2 intro is honestly one of the best intros in the series and imo everything you said about lego batman 1 can also be applied to 2 but in the og it has more of that dark feeling about Gotham which is what I like
This game literally was my introduction to Batman... I never liked Batman as a kid, but my friend got me this for birthday one year (I guess he didn't actually know me that well...) so I just stuck it in and gave it a go... and I was hooked
I grew up playing Lego Batman on my PSP and when o was 12 I played Lego Batman 2....so good..O didn't know it was kinda.based on the animated series and 89'..such fun gameplay and i used go spend hours in the lobbies, especially Arkham Asylum...the levels were really memorable
i used to play lego batman so much when i was a kid. i have all of the lego batman games and even though i’m 16, i still play them because they bring me a lot of joy :)
It's still one of my favourite videogames of all time, it's such a fun and enjoyable game and to be able to play as the villians was awesome. Also the Danny Elfman soundtrack was icing on the cake. This game is a perfect way to introduce kids to The Batman mythos and mainly the villains, like as a kid playing this yes you play as Batman and Robin but I think it focuses more on the villains. I was able to get to know and understand as I played as each villain. It’s such an incredible game and I will never get tired of replaying it.
This was my first videogame ever. Although Spider-Man was my first superhero ever introduced to me, this game is what made me a big Batman fan to even today. I have so much nostalgia with this game, playing it with my cousins and my father. I will forever love this game.
I think the best way to think of this is that every lego Batman/DC game has been made at a crucial point of innovation the first one was the idea of having the story broken up between heroes and villains and while broken up when put back together tell one whole cohesive story and then Batman 2 DC superheroes which introduced fully voiced cutscenes and the first true open world for lego games then Batman 3 beyond Gotham which introduced individual hubs to explore plus Mario Galaxy style lantern home planets to explore and then lego dimensions which introduced toys to life into lego games and introduced so many different and interesting properties into lego games plus some returning ones too then DC supervillains which introduced the most advanced character creator to date and introduced a new open world including Gotham metropolis and apokalyps
Hey, Eyezayar, I just wanted to say, I love your content man. It's super entertaining to watch and your comedy is god tier, if I could support you by donating something I would but me have no money. I will from now on watch your videos as soon as I possibly can, so keep posting! I will be your fan every step of your youtube journey.
Lego batman the video game was the 2nd Lego game I ever played right behind Lego marvel superheroes and honestly it is one of the biggest reasons that I love Lego games today
"Lego Batman the Videogame is the greatest Lego videogame of all time" ~ Eyezayar This is the greatest statment of all time and must be remembered always

I think the game just has this atmosphere to it, along with the lack of dialogue, set design and music of course, the game feels like a love letter to the original comics and animated series. The levels and the city feels warm, welcoming, although some levels have some sinister places (mainly joker's missions). The choice of using the original batman music is great and gives value to the game, the city is beautifully designed and the overall vibe is the percect mix of Ti Burton and Joel Schumacher
When I was younger, I used to hate going into the Hero Trophy room (the Manor Library) because it played that really eerie/sad track, Childhood Remembered. I was disappointed when I found out it wasn’t used in Batman 2, it added that dark feel that would’ve been lovely hearing as you roamed Gotham.
I'd seen a few episodes of the 2004 Batman cartoon growing up along with a few other Batman related things in pop culture, but it was the Lego sets that introduced me to a lot of the characters. By the time the game released most of the villains I'd heard of, but getting to the Joker levels and seeing Mad Hatter and Killer Moth had me completely baffled as to who they were. On top of that unlike most of the other Lego games where you had plenty of sets allowing you to get the characters beforehand, not having Killer Moth, Man Bat or the Mad Hatter related sets did a lot to encourage me to actually read the comics.
I know this video was posted 2 years ago, but I will say this: Lego Batman 1 is my most favorite Lego Videogame of all time. Now, I have only played this one and part 2, but that's good enough for me. I do like part 2, but part 1 is better for me too because of what you mentioned about how the ambience of Gotham City is. The dirt, the grime, and the Gothic Art and all that really make it stand out. In fact, since it is heavily influenced and inspired by the Tim Burton Batman films, it fits perfectly. Also, on a side note, if you think about it, the game itself is simple yet has some cool extras. I think it's the simplicity, the design and aesthetic, and the creepiness that makes this game so awesome.
