The GK is definitely for those looking for a more refined detector. What you can do with it once you've mastered it is amazing. For a detector that's designed for nuggets it sure is versatile. The DD GK24 9x5 coil is simply awesome and in my opinion the best coil for the Gold kruzer. By the way the GK would have been even more responsive on that little picker simply by holding the boost button on the left side. It would have screamed. One day someone might actually do the GK justice. Who knows maybe I'll have to do a future vid on the Gold Kruzer. I have had my hands on a GM and yes very simple but effective detector, however you really can't compare both machines to each other as the GK is way more then just a nugget shooter. Cheers.
@@cdwwillow9671 The racer series is older tech and not waterproof. KHz is different as well as programming, coil choices and features on the Gold kruzer.
Love my Kruzer. My dad and I did what u have done and he bought the monster and I bought the Kruzer. He loves the turn on and go with the monster and i love being able to learn and fine tune. Both great machines but I favour the Kruzer. ⛏
Chris try this. Run the gold kruzer at 99sens. Thresh on 6. And ground balance you can hear a bouncing sound on hot rocks and a sharp zip for micro target. Also you can set the machine to fast mode. Gain up to 87 and disc down to 7. It will pick up small targets that the monster will miss. Try it out and keep up the good work
That buzzing would drive me crazier than I already am. There is a husband and wife team that do metal detecting and I really enjoy watching them find gold but their machines just buzz continually so I don't get to watch them very often because that noise drives me whackoe especially on my bad days... Kruzer's the go, judging by the comments not many people picked up on the adjustable threshold as well as having a wide range of adjustable tone to suit all hearing levels👌
@@davidphilippi4429 no mode change in this video, just down on the threshold and up on the gain in general/all metal mode, although the kruzer does have 3 other search modes fast, boost and micro each with factory pre sets that are also fully adjustable cheers
I've used all the minelab SD and GP machines with adjustable threshold just like on the Gold Kruzer. Also the GPX Series and GPZ also have adjustable threshold. For any serious prospector threshold is an important tool but hey your right. If you don't like it or it's annoying turn it off at your own risk of missing targets.
Great summary at the end. Well said Chris, if you want to learn the kruzer is the go but the gm is just a turn on and swing machine. Thats why I love my nox 800. I can play with settings on that and have found a 0.010g bit with it using the 6 inch coil. Its all really about learning what ever machine you have and persisting. Took me 4 years to find my first bit with with my old xterra 705. But once I did it made it easier to pick up and adjust new machines for better results. Great video, even with that kruzers threshold buzzing in my head...
If you don't like threshold never buy an SD, GP, GPX, SDC, GPZ or any good gold detector for that matter lol. The right threshold is the difference to finding those whisper targets. That slight break is everything.
08:52 NEVER THROW AWAY WHAT YOU HAVE COLLECTED IN YOUR LEFT HAND WITHOUT FIRST TEST IT ON THE DETECTOR COIL, BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET MORE NUGGETS OR OTHER INTERESTING OBJECTS !!!
Hearing the threshold is a must. But I definitely agree it can be annoying. The key is to have the threshold at a level where you can pick a slight dip or hiccup in the threshold. Not all targets are loud or discernible. Please keep you threshold on it will help you find that target no one else heard.
People have their threshold too high, if you can hear it and any change then that is fine, unless there are a lot of deaf people out there which seems to be the case, haha
Thanks for making this comparison Chris. That buzzing from the Kruser would remind me too much of dreaded mosquitoes and so it's a No Go for me. The Gold Monster is still within an affordable price point, so is looking very tempting to me.

What i do is use a bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the head phone port on my GPX 5000 and then i connect it to my phone which then connects to a set of good quality headphones. Not as complicated as it may sound and cheap depending on the head phones but the key part is using a equaliser / audio mixer app on your phone to give the sound more quality and not just a mosquito buzzing in your ear. You can also have music playing to drown out the humm and being all wireless you can put the detector down without being attached
Hi Chris, Great piece on the monster & gold kruser. I bought the gold kruzer and I find it a very responsive machine. I am yet to find a picker or nugget with it, but I have found 100's of junk and coin targets. Some bits of rusted bobby pins took some looking. I was amazed at how small some of the targets were. I will be trying out your setting next time I am out. From what I understood I set the threshold back and volume for a soft even hum and listen for any change in the theshold even the faintest change with no ID. Give it a scratch and check again to see if it gets louder. Thats how to work the machine to its depth limits. I just have to be able to hear it, I have a bit of industrial deafness and sometimes I'm not sure if its a target or my ears ringing etc. Your settings may help with hearing the target as the only time I will hear the detector is when I find a target. Thus not stressing my ears out with the constant hum and causing them to ring. Also the kruser is 5mt water proof and their is a lot of popular swimming holes in the creeks around here. I have found jewelry in the sluice, only 925 silver and some gold chain links. No 24k rings as yet. Diving the holes with the kruzer is on the list this summer. Even if I find nothing of value I know I will come out with a full bag of rubbish. Love these informative videos Chris and its been a while since we have seen you out with the detector. Keep up the good work👍
i never heard of a MAKRO so i`ll stick with MINELAB! they both sound like good machines, i dont know if they would help me more or hinder me in my search for the micro gold that is in my area.
Nokta Macro Gold Kruzer operates at 61khz, whilst the Gold Monster 1000 operates at 45khz frequency. What is the advantage in operating at higher frequency in terms of depth in detecting for "gold", if any?
I have had both and think the GK is less "bump" sensitive but I am leaning towards the GM, in fact I just purchased another, now that I have more patience when it comes to detecting.
Love your videos brother. Yep that dude is really hard to listen too. I’d lean toward the monster simply because it’s not chewing on your ear the whole way.
You are losing sensitivity with the silent search settings for the Kruzer even though it is on maximum gain. When you set the threshold, it is supposed to be quit, but hearable. A loud threshold is quite annoying. And Yup, the GM1000 also loses a little sensitivity even though it was designed that way and you cant bring the threshold up to the hearable point. The difference only really noticeable on the tiniest gold. Full pickers like you were using are a bit large, the GM1000 is capable of seeing gold a quarter the size of your test piece or less. Good video, well done.

Re Kruzer with the picker target. Note, its numbers were still all over the map. I'm finding that quite interesting. It couldn't narrow down "what" it was as a target. Or was there other iron/ferrous/non-ferrous material close by?
Nice comparison. Given the componentry of gold detectors, I consider them way overpriced. How about doing a comparison of a cheap detector, like a Ricomax with an expensive one?
Thanks for the video. I reckon you'd get better depth with the 10 inch coil supplied with the GM1000. Not sure of the coil size on the Kruzer but it would seem to be a similar size?
Chris if that is still the same area where you have been getting those smaller but coarse pickers in the creek & also that "sluice channel" as you called it then you have found a nice section of leftovers from the old-timers who were most probably too busy grabbing the big gold from the original ore body to chase what had shed from it and broken down. I reckon your chances of finding decent sized nuggets & specimens in that area are pretty good. As for those detectors and many others they are just not suitable in many spots in WA as the mineralisation & salt levels are very high in many places That's why I stick to my old Garrett A2B Groundhog & Garrett ADS- Deepseeker units. I simply set them to Auto, & I can reset the VLF Ground Cancel Control without having to ground cancel the unit every time. Before digging a target I flip the T/R Discrimination switch for a "refined" audio of what the target most probably is . But being the eternal "Lasseters Optimist" I dig them anyway. ⛏️.
OMG. Mate, I just thought you broke your leg or something and have to use crutches. Happy that you are ok and just comparing two detectors live :) Very cool and interesting video and thanks god that you finally made the Kruzer shut up - this sound would really turn me nuts. Greets & Cheers from the other side of this planet and find a lots of that shiny heavy yellow stuff!
i have a gold racer II and its brilliant to use, so easy tune, even my 11 year old grandson can use it with out a problem, a simple adjustment to get rid of the noise and your off and going. I know a person who has just bought a gold monster and is struggling to use it, they are looking at paying someone to teach them, I both detectors are as good as the same in finds, etc. I did look at both to buy, but went for the makro due to getting a better deal. i guess at the end of the day it really comes down to brand name against brand name, not so much the machine. But this has been a ongoing argument since detectors first came out. Used to be Fisher against Whites, etc lol
I wish you would have left the threshold around 3 or so, which may have allowed it to sound off on weak target like the one you were testing, but by putting it to zero you gave it the least chance of signaling. Also the gold cruiser is about $300 cheaper than the Minelab gold monster 1000 but you said they cost about the same. The gold monster costs about 50% more. Please do another video where the threshold allows the machine to do a little more. I still like your video! Keep up the good work!
I had to make notes , I will try that trick to make my GK silent , now it won’t disrupt my fellow campers when they are sitting by the fire singing Kumbaya 😊
Thanks, new subscriber here. Very interesting video! I recently got into Nokta Makro detectors, and am starting with the Simplex+ which I find very good at picking up small targets at good depths. I do however have an interest in the Kruzer and will probably end up with one.
Great and informative video, its inspiring me to want to start prospecting as this is great way to see parts of Australia and interesting hobby and good for camping weekends way,Thanks again and keep up the great work 👏
OUTSTANDING DEMOMSTRATION CHRIS!!! Will the Gold Monster also find jewelry and relics? I want the GPZ7000, but don't have the funds. Thought about the Equinox 900 as a GM1000/EQ800 combined. Thanks!

G'day mate I Love your vids & your enthusiasm. I'm so grateful for you sharing your well gathered wealth of information. I have had the gold fever for 23 years when i purchased an M&D Marks dredge / sluice / pans including the turbopan & found about 0.2g of flower gold at Oalen ford NSW. I was hooked on trying to find where this beautiful shiny stuff was coming from so i purchased a book called "Bungonia to Braidwood" which i studied in my spare time. But i found it hard to get out sluicing with my work commitments. :-( I have been 3 times in 22 years. :-( So 4 years ago i took a redundancy from work & sold my house to buy a farm so i could spend more time with my dogs & become a "small" self sufficient farmer. I purchased 100 acres of land near Oalen ford gold fields in nsw in mind of panning / sluicing in the future & get back into fossicking / panning & detecting as a hobby. Since this my dad came ill & needed 24/7 care & mum had an operation on one of her hands for carpel tunnel so needed help. I have since been looking after them on their animal rescue farm on the NSW south coast. Well my farm burned out on new years day last year so i had lost heart in even visiting my farm to start rebuilding the infrastructure let alone to go out & enjoy some test panning. Although Watching your videos has inspired me again & given me the drive to get back into life & get things moving. I am looking to purchase my first detector just to look for any relics / gold nugs / coins & all those bits of rubbish that may be left behind. lol Now i've watched this video i'm thinking the gold monster 1000 with the 10" coil on it might suit me just fine. thank you again for making & sharing your videos & happy panning. :-)
Thats a rough time mate. Glad you're here to share the story, shows you're a tough bugger! The Gold Monster is a great machine. Having both I lean more towards the Kruzer. However the monster is easier when you first start to get your head around.
Dude that is one of your best vids. More comparisons in the future? Yes please. I have been dithering about these two or waiting for the new multi frequency unit. Thanks again.
Just can't stop and enjoy watching your videos. 🤠 And as always, I do give my two moose hunting dogs (jämthund) a big scratch behind the ear and they love it. 😍 Thanks a lot and keep up the great work. Best regards from the northern part of Sweden 🇸🇪

Olá meu amigo tbm? tem com vc mim iformar sobre o Makro Gold cruze ele e mum Detector bom ? melhor que o Gold mast 1000?tem como vc escrever e português porque eu não entendo inglês. obrigado
I love your review here. The GK is significantly less costly than the GM 1k so I'm going for that one BUT now Makro also has the Gold Finder 2000 for upwards of around what the GM1k sells for. What are the chances they took the GK guts, did what you do in this video to get rid of the threshold, hotwire the ground balance to the full auto option, and stick it in an anfibio box? Are there differences between the GF and GK that are apparent to someone knowledgeable like yourself that aren't obvious to a total noob like me?
Hell any other mode will make it silent an there are 4 well 3 other than Gen so much more control. My friend with the monster often says he wishes he would have bought mine. All in all we have several ounces of gold in a matter of 3 mo.
I know you ask Chris but. There is always a chance to find a meteor with a metal detector as long as it is iron-based. Thousands of meteorites hit the earth a year. You just have to learn to identify the difference between hot rock slag meteorite.
Guna start saving a little bit every pay check and look into getting one.. I’ve researched a couple so far and they are either thousands of dollars or cheap ones for kids. Trying to find one right in the middle, hahaha.
If you run that kruzer on any other settings than Gen like boost it will not give you that Humm it will work like the monster I own one and my prospectng buddy runs the monster. I always hunt in boost.
I know the sounds annoying.

I wouldn’t mind getting the gold monster. Good job Chris 😁🤙👊
Thanks for the comparison. Once the Kruzer is set to behave just like the GM, does the GM have any advantages at all over the Kruzer?
can you say full cruiser setup when you're looking for river gold?

Saludos desde Caracas Venezuela.!! GOLD IS EVERYWHERE.
In Venezuela??
@@chriscool1680 Yes from Venezuela ... a country with numerous natural resources and with the worst rulers in the world ...
I hope you subscribe to my channel, so that you are informed of my progress in the search for gold.
13:37 i beg your pardon 😂❤👍🏻⚒️🏴
Thanks, new subscriber here. Very interesting video! I recently got into Nokta Makro detectors, and am starting with the Simplex+ which I find very good at picking up small targets at good depths. I do however have an interest in the Kruzer and will probably end up with one.
First? Still learning my gold kruzer. Love the machine just lots to learn yet. Thanks for the great video Chris.
Congratulations! Trophy 🏆
😂😂😂😂 I’m never first not even on my own videos 😅
I could’ve used either machine last week trying to find a nugget my buddy dropped .... nice job explaining!!!!!! ✅👍🏻
How are they under water ?
🍺🍺🍺
I have a gold bug 2. Cant wait to get it out on the ground today for the first time
Great and informative video, its inspiring me to want to start prospecting as this is great way to see parts of Australia and interesting hobby and good for camping weekends way,Thanks again and keep up the great work 👏
Awesome videos as always.....⛏🤠👍
Righto peeps if at any stage during the vid the buzzing sound becomes too much for you scroll through to the 9min 20 mark
OUTSTANDING DEMOMSTRATION CHRIS!!!
Will the Gold Monster also find jewelry and relics? I want the GPZ7000, but don't have the funds. Thought about the Equinox 900 as a GM1000/EQ800 combined. Thanks!
Me, at 9 and a half minutes: *Why didn't we do this 9 minutes ago?* 🤣 That would drive me batty to listen to all day. Interesting comparison. Thanks, Chris.
Love the videos. Hope you're doing okay. Take care of yourself.
Nice video. It’s cool to see how they react on same object. I like gold monster but my opinion. 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent video , loved how you performed the comparisons 👍💀🌴😎
Dude that is one of your best vids. More comparisons in the future? Yes please. I have been dithering about these two or waiting for the new multi frequency unit. Thanks again.
I love your glasses. What make are they? Back to the video..
Thank you
Thanks for this video mate 👍
Great video .great info. Looks like a good day out showing us some research. Hope you had some fun ..
Just can't stop and enjoy watching your videos. 🤠 And as always, I do give my two moose hunting dogs (jämthund) a big scratch behind the ear and they love it. 😍
Thanks a lot and keep up the great work. Best regards from the northern part of Sweden 🇸🇪
Chris, do you have an Equinox 800? If you do can you do a comparison with the Equinox 800 in gold mode versus the Gold Monster? Love your vids, keep them coming.
I don't have an 800 but that would be a good test.
Got to love the stumpy pick and this is a good video on the detectors
Very cool, Chris! Are we seeing the comeback of the majestic beard?
The kruzer doesn't have a constant threshold there are 4 search modes Gen boost micro fast. Only threshold is Gen all metal I hunt in boost no thersh and hunts like the monster.
Chris…what did you call those setting on the Kruzer?
Bozine settings? I’ve never heard of them and I’d like to learn more. Can you point me in a direction?
Thank and keep these great videos comin’!
Google "Bogene Metal detector"
@@VoGusProspecting thanks!
Boy those numbers on the Kruzer were really jumping around on the picker in the pan (end of the video).
Would you recommend the Nokta Gold Finder 2000, over the Minelab Gold Monster 1000??
First in wooh. Love your stuff Chris. Would be nice living close, to do prospecting. The Gold in the quartz are some of the nicest pieces for me. I'm not really into gold jewellery but like it in raw form
When you wave the gold monster back and forth, the way you do it makes it impossible to see the numbers on the screen. (3:31)
nice video, can you teach mi on how to gave a perfect setting in ground clearance in nokta makro? please cause i am a beginner..i am from philippines and theres lot of potential gold nuggets in our area..i hope you can help me choose the right detector
Damn that hum reminds me of my virtual boy. The red lines i can remember them. Thats sound i bet itll be trapped in my head too lol. Btw the virtual boy had a great tank game. Just the red lines.
Olá meu amigo tbm? tem com vc mim iformar sobre o Makro Gold cruze ele e mum Detector bom ? melhor que o Gold mast 1000?tem como vc escrever e português porque eu não entendo inglês. obrigado
Interesting video. Thank you
Thanks!
Are there differences between the GF and GK that are apparent to someone knowledgeable like yourself that aren't obvious to a total noob like me?
the sound of the nokta gold kruzer f*cked my ear man....
Hi Chris what are the bojeen settings for the gold Kruger you were mentioning thanks Kevin
Its not a pre set.
You simply turn your gain q
To 99, your threshold to zero and turn tracking on.
thanks for your reply Chris I'll give those settings a crack
Thanks that was some good info
Hell any other mode will make it silent an there are 4 well 3 other than Gen so much more control. My friend with the monster often says he wishes he would have bought mine. All in all we have several ounces of gold in a matter of 3 mo.
The good thing is that you'd eventually become deaf to mosquitos.
thanks
You're welcome!
I love this mental channel🤣🤣
Is there any chance the iron in those hot rocks could be from a meteor, just curious...
Trying to find one right in the middle, hahaha.
i might be biased as ive got a monster. but why didnt you shut the other one up earlier.. hahaha. love your work .
If you run that kruzer on any other settings than Gen like boost it will not give you that Humm it will work like the monster I own one and my prospectng buddy runs the monster. I always hunt in boost.
And the advt over the GM is?
Second, looking warm Chris....Interesting review, thank you for this....
He distinctly said in the beginning of this video that it was NOT a review...he said it was to show folk HOW to work the settings. 😉
@@jenesisjones6706 poor choice of words on my part.....
Great content mate we are very unlucky atm but learning from watching ur videoes
Do u sell pay dirt aswell if so how much for a bucket to get sent to brisbane
That buzzing is doing my head in .Doubt if I could deal with it all day .
Its worse in the video because of the microphone gain.
Great tip!
