You are absolutely right about a traditional curling iron especially on finer hair nothing holds a curl like that. This is a totally different curl and sometimes I love just having my traditional beach wave curling iron curls. Depends on my mood lol! Hope you have a wonderful blessed and safe 4th! I tried very hard to find a cheaper dup- or even an alternative bc I already have the 1st air wrap and I looked at a lot of things and am so glad I got this one bc it’s different enough fr the first one and really is the top of the hair curling tools for my needs and hair type… and my hair type is totally diff than yours, I have really fine, thin hair but it works so great 😀 I’m so glad you showed me what the other attachment was, bc I never knew e en what first one. I think bc I have their dryer and I use that for volume and to dry my hair lol. But now, I’m hella excited to try that piece, I just need to find it lol 😂 I packed it away w stuff I should keep but don’t use, hopefully in the blue box, I just need to move my computer monitor to get to it lol. Oh! Tata Harper has a few things on sale at Sephora, I’m getting the basic cream I go through a lot if that bc I’m pretty heavy handed lol 😂

It's so hard when we don't keep our minds occupied because the pain and thought of not ever seeing them again eats us alive! Wish I lived near you! I know our glamfam sister Andrea in NJ also goes through this same exact pain as she lost her mom last year. My mom's anniversary of her passing is next Monday. I know this is an older video now but I was just flicking through some of your previous videos. I have the hairdryer, the straightener and this, I also bought the shark version of this and it’s amazing! I prefer it to the dyson now personally. Plus the fact it’s half the price-always a bonus!
I’m more commenting because as much as I love watching your videos, it pains me to watch these hair ones, because your hair is so damaged and broken. The layers that have been created from snapped hair etc. as lovely as it looks when you do your hair, in comparison to how your hair used to be before you went platinum, it really shows. You say you use it every day, but it’s only going to damage it more if you use it so much. I have had all my hair burned off by someone who is actually a trained hairdresser. I couldn’t dry or use heat for months. The dyson was the one thing i could use that didn’t make it worse if I used it once in a while while I was growing it out and getting the strength back. But constantly using would have made it worse. Just cutting back to a couple of times a month, not bleaching and trims every month will slowly improve the quality of the hair, and give you back the beautiful hair you used to have. Please consider doing this, if not just half the time you spend with heat on it would be something! 😊

I only use my Dyson now when I film and that’s usually once maybe twice a week. I have an amazing hair dresser now and we have been very gentle with my bleach. I’be been using k18 and that’s helping. It’s finally growing my breakage but it’s going to take awhile. I know if I stopped bleaching it would speed up the promise but I love my blonde for now! 😍 ❤️
@@KristiAllureBeauty aww that’s so good to hear. I’m glad you’re slowly getting it healthy again. I love the K18, far better than olaplex! It helped my hair massively when I had it all snapped and burned off by an old hairdresser who wasn’t concentrating on my hair. Thankfully I managed to get the foils off and start washing before I was left with literally no hair. But what I was left with was not much and it continued to break for weeks after. It is now back to full health but it took me 4 years and stopping bleach completely. I still have very light blonde hair, but she just doesn’t use bleach anymore. These days you just don’t need bleach to get those levels of lift anymore, so I still have my super blonde, just without the bleach! I did find the Dyson enabled me to dry my hair once in a while, the standard dryer and ghd just wasn’t an option. So it’s definitely worth it imo. Xx
Seriously K18 is a savior!!! My hairdresser Monday said wow your hair is really gaining it’s strength back and growing! Now I have to restock it on the sale because that stuff is expensive and I have groceries to buy lol! I know this world is so impacted with financial burden! I do agree we pay for what we get and those Dyson investments are worth it! ❤️🙏🏻

Do you recommend this for my naturally curly hair? Is it be able to straighten it without me having to use a flat iron at the roots. If I rough dry the roots I will just have frizz. Thank you DO much for your in depth tutorials! I watched the original one but I’m questioning if this works to straighten my natural curls and appreciate your thoughts before purchasing. 😊
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much watching and that's a great question! I can't promise you that it will flatten out naturally curly roots because that is a touch one to straighten and tame without a flatiron but I can tell you I have very wavy hair and my roots tend to curl and it's the first time I've ever been able to blow out my hair and straighten without a flatiron which has been impossible in the past. The Fly away attachment is also amazing and I've seen a curl hair video I can't remember when but it did look very beautiful. Sorry if that' s not very helpful but honestly feel like this airwrap is so amazing for coarse, wavy and curly hair women because it's the only powerful device that actually smooths the hair! Always remember too that sephora, nordstrom, Saks and ulta take everything back!!! So if it doesn't work out you can always return but it doesn't hurt to try! It's been a miracle on my tough damaged hair! I used to always have to use a flatiron after blow drying and I don't even pull out unless I want a super sleek look. Hi Linda! I’m so excited for you! Just love my Airwrap to this day!! I don’t even think they sell the old one anymore so I’m pretty sure you have the new one! I’m not 100% positive but if you can see on the front of the box the arrows on the tip of the barrels then it’s the new one! Also there should only be two barrels not 4. There should be only 6 attachments on the box and it should be a flyaway attachment not the old pre styler. Hopefully that helps! Every time I either ask a hairstylist at a salon, or watch UA-cam videos of professional hairstylists giving their opinion (review) of the dyson airwrap, they always talk negatively about it. I think that has something to do with their clients not needing as many professional blow outs anymore, lol.
@@falconeddie4109 OMG seriously! Many Hairstylists talk down about dyson products and I always thought that as well! I'm like don't hate....appreciate!! We just make their job a little easier lol! I wish more stylists would use dyson tools in their salons because we pay so much money to color and cut our hair! I had a couple in the past use them in salon and they raved about how amazing the dyson tools are so I'm thinking the other ones don't want to spend the extra money so they talk down about it maybe?!
Trying to decide between the new air wrap and the supersonic. I don’t have the thickest hair but it can be frizzy. I typically curl or straighten my hair after air drying over night so I am struggling with which to get.
Hi Rasha! What a BEAUTIFUL name!!! Thank you so much for watching! If I were you I would go for the airwrap first because I think you’re going to fall in love with it for your hair description! I love my supersonic and glad I have it because it’s literally the best blow dryer I have ever used! I have super frizzy hair and always required a flat iron with other blow dryers to smooth out my hair after drying but I don’t have to with the supersonic and now the Airwrap! Growing up in a beauty salon we tested many hot air tools over the years and this was a miracle for my hair type. I use the airwrap if this helps you way more than my supersonic because I don’t have the thickest hair. The newest airwrap is even better in my opinion than the original! I love that it’s one device that I can dry my, do a nice blowout and also curl if I want! I really think you get your money’s worth no matter which one you choose but based off your preferences and your hair type I would personally start with the airwrap! Let me know though! I can get it for 20% off during the Sephora sale but I wonder if they get a bit more discounted at any point during the year. Ever see a Black Friday deal or something else that is more than a 20% discount on these?
Oh my goodness thank you so much!! I love helping in any way I can! I have yet to see a better deal than the Sephora rouge sale unless you go on eBay or Poshmark. I personally have never seen a Black Friday deal on the Dyson hair tools and I’m thinking because they unfortunately know the demand is so high for them! I really wish they did as they get so many more to buy one! I don’t know why more companies don’t see it that way! I’ve never seen ulta or Sephora run a deal outside of the vib rouge sale either. I always keep the Glamfam posted in the community the minute I see big deals or sales for major stuff. Hopefully the notifications alert you sometimes you have to toggle on and off for some reason! I check my email everyday for deals so I will keep you posted! They sell out so fast during the spring sale and you must be Rouge so make sure your online at midnight or early morning east coast time 4/14 so you don’t miss out on it. I see this happen every sale! I’m so exited for you to get the airwrap! It’s that one big purchase I truly feel is worth every penny! 🥰❤️😘

I betcha the reason why these 2nd gen airwraps don’t have the nice compartments like the 1st gen ones have, has to do with dyson wanting to sell you their new airwrap compartment holder products that are sold separately.
-In your opinion, is the 2nd gen worth the extra money? I ask this only because the price of the 1st gen airwrap can be purchased under $400 (on websites that I found), so I’m left still trying to decide if the 2nd gen is worth the extra $100? Would it be smarter to purchase the 1st gen airwrap, and then buy the longer (2nd gen) used barrels on poshmark, mercari, or eBay?
Hi there! Thank you so much for watching. Good to know about the new airwrap compartments! I will have to check that out! You are definitely right that was a good tactic on their end lol! My honest opinion on a tool I use every single day is the second generation is so much better than the first one! Many of the Glamfam that owned the first one agreed there seems to me more efficiency in the 2nd one! Just as the improve iPhones every year I truly feel like they did that with the second one. I can actually dry my whole head in a record time where as before I had to use my supersonic and then go with the airwrap attachments! Every attachment improved as well! It’s definitely worth getting the new one and you get the warranty with it. I absolutely love my second generation even more than the first. I feel like it heats up even more as well! I tried the new attachments on my old one and it just didn’t hold the curl as well. I just feel this motor is even more powerful! It’s so worth the extra $100 especially for a tool you will use so much! It’s worth every penny in my option! I never had hair that was can just blow dry and walk out the door! I had to always use a flat iron and now unless I want a super sleek flat look I don’t even pull out my flatiron! 😊 I hope that helps! Keep me posted on what you decide! 😍

Hi Destiny!!! Thank you so much for watching and yes I absolutely think it’s worth every penny to get the new one!!! It’s much more powerful and in my option just blew the first one out of the water the more I used it! To help offset the cost I just sold my first one on eBay and got a little over 300 for it after fees if that helps! I would definitely recommend the new one as a whole! A few of us already notice the difference even with it get warmer and curling better! I hope that helps! If you do definitely sell your old one! If you have the Old Dyson, is not worth upgrading for this one. I spoke with a supervisor from the company and he told me that the ONLY thing that the new version has is the designs of the barrels attachment since you no longer need to have two to do both sides , the smoothing brush and the other one honestly is almost the same thing just more square and the middle part that move is no longer there and finally, the dryer attachment since it has a flyaway method… that’s it. The power is the same, the machine is the same, just the colors and attachment change.
If you are fine with the old attachment and you don’t care to have two barrels etc… DONT splurge. Is not necessary. 🙂

Hi Trisha! Hope you having a w wonderful Friday! Yes they will be selling them separately but I do t have a date on when they will release those! I will contact them and try to get an answer but they will be selling them separately! Yes you should definitely turn off after every curl because of the Coanda effect it attracts and wraps the hair and you want to be able separate the sections without having it blow all over the place. Plus you really want to lock in each curl with the cold shot or running it off! 😍 Hope that helps! Any questions you have send them on over! 😘

I got it now during black friday sale. It is not a bad tool but I still do not think it is worth the price tag for me. It is overpriced. Also no dual voltage? Really Dyson? You praise yourself on tech and 30 bucks hairdryer lets me to take it to another continent if I travel🤣🤣. I am so pet peeved about that one voltage only. Stil debating if i should return that overpriced but cool toy🤣

Haha I do feel ya on the dual voltage that doesn’t make sense to me either but for me it really is the only tool I w ever used that actually didn’t damage my hair further and cuts my time down. But I have crazy stubborn frizzy thick hair For some it’s not worth it and that totally makes sense! I say if you don’t see a difference or it doesn’t make sense to keep it then don’t waste your money but if you think in the long run it’s a good investment than keep it. We all our different so I get it and we have to pay for groceries these days that cost us an arm and leg lol!😂 For me the Dyson tools are just the best for my hair type but I tell my gfs that have hair that doesn’t really need it to just skip it unless they really want it. For me the benefits outweigh the voltage because your girl never leaves her house lol. 😂🤣 Thank you for letting me know honey!! 😘🤗
@@KristiAllureBeauty i am still deciding on it.. i like what it does, I am just not sure I love it.. and for this amount I should love it.. and the dual voltage is a big deal for me as I will be moving to Europe in couple of years.. I do not know if by then Dyson will make some sort of adapter as apparently until now they are a real ass about people complaining they can not take their expensive toy with them when they travel or move as the damn thing will not work. So i am still debating my like vs love😂😂😂
@macademia8151 oh honey I would definitely return if you’re moving to Europe! That completely makes sense and I always say if you don’t love return and save your money!!! For sure because life is too expensive right now and this economy to keep a high tag item of you don’t love it! My mom always said that weigh it out and if it doesn’t benefit you return it!

Awe thank you so much for watching! I’m sure you’re still going to love it and you can always sell your original one if you decide to upgrade. I got a good price for mine on eBay. I had to sell mine to pay this new one down. I don’t know where you ordered the attachments but Sephora, ulta and Best Buy do accept returns. I’m not sure what Dyson’s return policy but most places have a 30-60day return if you change your mind. Let me know how it goes and keep me posted! 😍😘
