I have always felt many cons working in public accounting. While the work is challenging and looks great on a resume, it isn’t family friendly at all. Private is a better fit for me, and I am happy to see you enjoying your new job!
My eyelash was falling off yesterday lmao I facetimed my mom and she was like "yo eyelash crooked!" 😂 Congrats on your public accounting exit!! I dont think its for everyone. I work as a tax specialist for a big public acct firm but I dont desire to go into the Local Office. I never hear anything good.😢
Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself! 😂 You don’t need to look perfect all the time. And thank you! I really enjoy my new job. Everyone has their own perception of their “dream job”, but it’s good that you enjoy your role!
Yes. From my understanding, tere is mobility for the CPA license. But if you move and your primary work is in a different state, then you would need to change your CPA license to that state.
I think auditing helps me in corporate because I was exposed to different areas of the financials and analysis. I’m not sure if the CPA will help me in corporate…but I think it will later in my career with promotions, moving up, or job stability because it’s better to have the license than not having it.
@@breezysmiles That makes sense. Thanks for sharing your story. You aren’t the only one who will have make the change from public accounting to corp accounting/finance
I agree time booking can be so annoying at times
Yes! Something extra you have to do that takes time!

So true! I’ve always thought private accounting was a better fit for me!

Even in tax, you are forced to do timesheets every day before 9 pm and you can be busy even outside of the deadlines (3/15, 4/15, 9/15, 10/15)
I’ve heard, that’s the world of public accounting. Overall, it’s not what I’m looking for in a career.
You can work at any states with your license

Which of your 2 previous jobs offered you the best pay?? Do you think you'll have better financial benefits at Private accounting than in public ??
My new job offers better pay. Benefits are pretty similar between private and public accounting.
Do you think your experience as an auditor and passing the cpa exams help with corporate finance/accounting?

Did you get tested on any technicals for the job you have now?
@@ericliu8720 No. Only had to do 2 rounds of interviews and was offered the position!
@@breezysmiles I’m happy that it went well for you. Normally I heard that they ask technical questions in corp finance type jobs
Do you WFH? I hate time entry 😭
I’m working hybrid. 3 days in office and 2 days at home!
