- Join us as we embark on our first trip as a duo! We fly economy from London Heathrow to Orlando International Airport with Virgin Atlantic. After getting an Uber from the airport, we check in to our Woods View room in the beautiful Magnolia Bend area of the Walt Disney World Port Orleans Riverside resort and unexpectedly catch a performance from the amazing Yeeha Bob in the River Roost bar.

It’s our first travel day without Luke and Daisy which feels strange but we are also really excited to see how the trip unfolds with just the two of us.
We set off to London Heathrow airport and head for the Meet and Greet parking area at the Short Stay Car Park in Terminal 3. Once parked, we make our way to check in for the flight and make it through security to the shops and restaurants.
We have a look in the Duty Free shop and grab some sandwiches from Pret A Manger before heading to the gate and boarding the Virgin Atlantic flight to Orlando International Airport.
We book an Uber to transfer from MCO to Walt Disney World and arrive at the stunning Port Orleans Riverside resort. We check in to our Woods View room in the Magnolia Bend area of the resort and head to the Riverside Mill Food Court to share some obligatory first night WDW chicken tenders and fries!
We browse in Fulton's General Store and are impressed with the size of the shop and the range of merchandise available. On our way out we manage to catch the second act of Yeeha Bob's show in the River Roost bar which is the perfect end to the day!

We are Keith, Tracey, Luke, and Daisy. We have been going on family vacations to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida for over 18 years. We have stayed on International Drive, Universal Resorts, and several Walt Disney World Resorts and became Disney Vacation Club members in 2022. Inspired by seeing other people sharing their adventures on UA-cam, we decided to document our experiences too. When not in Florida we run an accommodation business and support Luke’s motor racing adventures in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship. We film on a Canon G7X Mark II compact camera and edit using iMovie. I have to say I wasn’t very impressed with this hotel. The reason being is that I needed an accessible room and it was a little snug than what I am used to. The food options were a bit of a disappointment but other than that I thought it was a nice hotel
Maybe you should go somewhere you haven’t been with the kids. Then no memories of them to trip you up. Looking forward to the rest of the series. 😊

I love that you love Riverside, I personally have never stayed on site but Kerry has and we looked round quite a few resorts last year and we are gonna do a week at riverside as I fell in love with it

Literally 5 mins into the video, first time viewer, but feel that in regards to anxiety about parking at an airport if you've not been that before. Flown from Gatwick tons, but last year was first from LHR so looked out for so many videos about how to do it! At least I know I'll be fine this year
Parking anywhere just stresses me out. Its totally irrational but I can't help it. I found this pretty easy but I know I'll stress over it again next time too
Stayed at POR back in 1998 when it was Dixie Landings, such a great resort, brilliant food hall and of course the boat to DS. Great start to the holiday, weird there are no kids. It will be interesting to see how you get on with bus transportation later in the holiday.
We absolutely loved por. It was weird without the kids and we really missed them but we had an amazing time
We fly British Airways to Orlando and they have been great, we are also DVC members from the same time as you and I have been enjoying your Vlogs. Our first trip on our own without the kids was May 2022, after 24 years !

Live the back to back vlog. Stayed at port orleons couple of years ago. Very quaint... that feeling you both had like going away without the "children" ours are now 35 and 38. I remember the first time going to orlando without them. We were at the car rental. Hubby was in in gettjng the car keys and i was sat outside in the sunshine and thinking like i had forgotten something... ah no, chdren !! Gelt very strange... felt guilty for the first couple of days then realised that it was our time.. hope you enjoy your time

I genuinely think that seats on plan should be all locked in slightly push backed positions and only unlocked to enable seat to go back fully after 10pm.

All the feels for Port Orleans Riverside. All our early trips when I was a child were at this resort (even in its previous incarnation Dixie Landings!) Excited to see this series! I did LOL when you tried to work the self check in at the airport “without the youth” LOL.

On the first holiday to Tenerife, I went without my son and my mum I had such a joyous airport experience because I was with friends and I didn't have to worry about anyone. Last year I went to Disney on my own it was so good. I always enjoyed it with the family but this time I could please myself

I've always loved the look of PO Riverside. Such beautiful grounds and buildings. In case you weren't sure, the charging of the Magic Band + is just for the fancy lights, vibrations, statue/show interactions. Without charging it it will function just like a regular Magic Band 2 - it doesn't need that extra charging for anything the older ones can do.
We absolutely loved. We figured that out and kinda makes me want one now. The whole charging aspect was putting me off
Another great blog - ah yes it is a strange feeling heading off on holidays without the crew - we did Disneyland Oogie Boogie on our own

It’s crazy no matter how organized I think I am I usually screw up something when I came back from London I didn’t take my tablet out of my carryon (all airports are different)so that cost me a half hour but I had lots of time till my flight left😊❤ love watching as always

My husband and I just did our first Disney trip without our grown kids this past November. It was always a dream that we could do that. We always loved going with our kids as well but I have to say, my husband and I had a blast going ourselves! We can’t wait to go back soon with just the two of us! Also, my husband and I definitely share the meals. The portions are so big always and found we could share and get treats then more here and there! Such a great idea we came up with lol! We wouldn’t mind staying at this resort also. We do love the quick commute to Disney springs also! Can’t wait to see this series of vlogs! 🤗

My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary this past January. We have never had a vacation just the 2 of us, even before we had kids. Our kids are now older (though not as old as Daisy and Luke). We stayed 9 days at Saratoga Springs at the end of January this year. I was absolutely NOT expecting to miss the kids as much as we did. We decided it will be awhile before we go back to Disney without the kids. We missed them so much and came to the conclusion that Disney World is just so much better with our kids
Aww I'm sorry to hear that. It was really weird for us and we did miss them terribly. But we did have the most amazing time too very different but amazing

we are now planning our next trip, and will be staying onsite for the first time (usually I Drive) Port Orleans is on the shortlist due to the boats to Disney Springs. The only thing that I am not 100% on is getting on and odd the boats step free. as I use a wheel chair.

I agree that it is strange taking that first trip without the kids in tow but you will have a great time. You spend less money feeding two as opposed to four so treat yourself. We definitely found ourselves eating in fancier restaurants and splurging on spa services.
It was a very different trip for sure but we had an amazing time. Couldn't believe how much we got done and how much we saved on dining out
Just think, you’ll be able to do it all again with your grandkids 😊

You made my eyes well up with tears too! 🥹 I am not ready to accept that there will soon be a time when my kids will not be able to go to Disney with me. Just a few more years left, thankfully we have a trip booked for September. As a single mom, I don't think solo trips will be my thing.
It's part if life I suppose but it is difficult. I wouldn't rule out a solo trip though.

Hiya 🤗 I’m super excited to watch this vlog series 😊 I know you prob did miss the kids being with you both but I hope you were able to enjoy your time there. So far (touch wood) I haven’t had to deal with anyone putting their seat back but in my opinion I wish none of the seats did it because unless you are sat where you sat, it only works if everyone does it 🙈 I’m glad you did get to see Yehaa Bob, he seems like so much fun 🩷 xxx

Is the alchohol just expensive on Disney property or FL in general? Its been years and always remember Disney being expensive but can't remember about the rest of florida?
Any hotel in the US it is usually more expensive . Got that same bottle of Bud Light at an Applebee's restaurant for $6.50.
@ndl5193 hotels always are, I meant more like an applebees or a restaurant outside the parks. Thank you 😊 can deal with $6.50. The nuts prices is whats putting me off a little bit at the minute.

I have only used WiFi on our Disney trips but on our recent tripbto atlanta I used an e sim and it worked well. esim.aerobile.net/
