So inspirational of you to mention that these are real loaded guns for 17 mins straight, and its smart of you to wear gloves so you dont leave finger prints for the law to find
Nice video. I have all these as well. Also, I shoot with them. I only use lead pellets. The Schofield is the most poweful one, and also the most accurate. The colt has the smoothest trigger and it is also quite accurate. The Remington feels slightly higher quality compared to the others. The grip feels better to me and the sound it makes when cocking the hammer is very satisfying. Can't go wrong with any of them IMO. :-)
@@timmy4539 My Colts all have rifled barrels. My remington(as well as the Schofield) have smooth barrels. However, I only shoot them using pellets. Never steel BB's. :-)
I have the Colt and the Schofield, using pellets l found the Colt remarkably accurate at 10 yards, the Schofield was not accurate with 177 pellets, l remarked to my gunstore owner that l had never fired steel BBs or any BBs before and he gave me a packet of 500 to try, l only used them in the Schofield as its the only smooth bore l have, and l was amazed at how accurate the gun was with the BBs, l always understood they were less accurate than pellets but maybe so if pellets are thru a rifled barrel but the smooth bore suited the ball bearings much more. And leaving the cartridges in the Schofield and with it being break action load its far quicker to load than any other revolver. I was going to buy the Remington but heard lots of reports of it breaking quite often not long after purchase, l would be interested to know owners of its opinions
Just out of curiosity can you use the shells for both bbs and pellets when it comes to the Remington ???Because I know from watching different videos for the colt peacemaker those shells are color coded .silver for pellets and normal brass for bbs. If anyone knows please let me know.
I had to put this out there. The right grip on the Remington 1875 isn’t supposed to come off the left one does. I own the Remington and from the left side you can see it’s screwed onto the frame. Did it come like that or did you rip it off?
I think the Remington "New Model" had the silver handle and you can buy a silver vynil wrap on Amazon. The Peacemaker had a "Mexican Emblem" on the handle.
Hey Nick, Which one shoot consistently accurate? I got the Peacemaker pellet version. It doesn't shoot straight most of the time and hits more on the right of the sight. Unfortunately, the rear sight is fixed.
Never shot any of them, just got them as a collection and to display. There are several pretty good videos on each around and seemed like the Remington was most accurate.
I have a Barra Schofield with a 7” barrel in aged black which shoots both BB’s and pellets which is a powerful weapon and not a toy. Good luck on your display, I would use air brushing to get the grips the color needed
The Remington 1875 has also been sold under the name Sheridan Cowboy. I have both, but prefer the one marked Remington 1875, because it looks more authentic.
Ther not toys u cannot buy these at toy stores or hobby shops.. ther not real fire arms but u can buy them from a gun store n must be treated as one cuz they can do damage and in some states like where I live they are considered fire arms and are illegal however I still collect them for ther as close as to a real gun as u can get
Love the Remington as a true shooter in replica firearms, and Love the sound of the peacemaker in a real gunfight the Schofield would be my choice, remember they or the hero only had one shot. Love all your bling, it must have a few bobs as we say in the UK to acquire these beauties. As I said SCHOFIELD wins in a gunfight, my American friend.
I was going to mention that the Remington grips in the movie were sterling silver, not black. I think the Schofield's were black. It also had it's trigger guard removed. I'm planning on making some silver grips for mine. I was originally going to use aluminium tape, but then decided to use the "ink" from a really good chrome pen that I intend to airbrush on the grips.
The bear river Schofield looks cool and the cartridges look the best like they have a real bullet on the top. That said, the sound of the action sounds like a plastic toy, compared to the other 2.
You can get liquid plastic and make a mold from silicone .That liquid plastic is transparent and there is different powder colors for it including black. It's not too expensive.
You could easily paint the grips black. For real nice grips upgrade, check out Bernhard bb. I am proud to say that he is from Denmark. He makes exelent patina work on grips, among other things.
@@NickBrakattack I painted mine, you need 3 spray cans, 1 an adhesive enhancer, 2 a plastic paint primer and 3 a plastic spray paint, all 3 you can get from auto goods supplier's or departments in stores. , remove handles take a dish scrubbing pad and using the rough scouring part rub the handles to take off the top coat of the grips that will repel the spray otherwise, just a light rub will take off the shine shake the can until it's rattling well, spray light coats from about 6 or 7 inches away, the trick is to keep the can moving to stop the primer /paint building up and dripping, do 2 coats of adhesion enhancer, one coat wait a few minutes but don't let it dry out, add another, wait a few more minutes add the plastic primer ( you can just use the plastic primer if you want but l like the belt n braces approach, let the coats dry for a few minutes again but not longer than 5 minutes, then with the colour of choice black in my case 2 to 3 coats, but again do them lightly one at a time with 3 minutes between coats, don't be tempted to do it all at once, then leave in a well ventilated but warmish room for at least 1 day but a week if you can wait and the job is done, you can apply a neutral varnish or lacquer spray after 7 days in matt or gloss whichever takes your fancy but it's not really necessary. You must let them dry completely after the last coat, as l said 1 day at least but ideally a week or longer depending how much self control you have lol.
Given your purpose, surprised you did not opt for replica non firing guns. Some of those are more exact replicas, and typically much more affordable. Do you know if the cartridges are interchangeable? I have heard that the Bear river Scofield and the 1875 can use each other’s cartridges.
The reason that your left grip from your 1875 is falling off could be due to the fact that a little plastic tab that sits on top of the grip has been broken off. It is very flimsy. It needs to be the first thing that you insert into the handle when you put the grip back in place. Some people don't notice it and just force the grip down. That breaks it.
Thanks for the tip. I plan to get one at BUDK. I also ordered the Uberti "Frank James" version with the lanyard ring in 45 Colt but the dealer said it might take a few months to get one.

Wood was the 'plastic' of the pre-industrial era. If you want authentic 19th century killing machine, use wood bolsters. Many species of tree, horn, or bone. Most can be stained and polished to nth deg. Can put weight in handle for added heft. Try homemade grips, yours or other ppl.
Ok - nice video in some ways but I have a major safety niggle as both an NSRA RCO & avid UK Airgunner - no CO2 pistol is a "Toy" - they all discharge a projectile that may cause a serious injury if handled in an unsafe manner. Also "Airsoft" and "Airgun" are totally different types; Airsoft fires a plastic 6 mm BB round, the pistols displayed here are Airguns so fire either, or both, (in the case of the Remington 1875) BB & 4.5 mm lead pellet (I own the Remington 1875 and Colt); so again capable of causing serious (e.g. eye injury) if treated as "toys".
