FYI... The reason the DeWalt work with the Craftsman is because DeWalt owns Craftsman.... Let's put it this way... Stanley tools like the FatMax owns Black & Decker and Black & Decker owns DeWalt DeWalt owns Craftsman.... Stanley Black & Decker owns a lot of tool company Like Black & Decker, DeWalt, Craftsman, Porter Cable, Linox, Bostitch, Irwin, Mac Tools and moore...
I wish they owned M&M's so we'd get free sampler packs in every tool kit.
I am seeing this a bit late but I appreciate the way Craftsman has such a useful tool and container system. I just purchased the Craftsman Tradestack yesterday 6/22/2021 and I am impressed.

I appreciate the depth of the storage options from various brands you covered, then came to the logical conclusion that more interconnectivity between the brands (such as industry standards in android smartphones to be USB C or Micro) is good for the consumer.
I hope we see more brands realizing that true trades people who do real work aren’t loyal to a specific brand. They just want reliable equipment that will deliver the expected results and not break on them before the job is done.
Perhaps my metaphor of a more symbiotic inter connectivity of tool storage could be extrapolated to the human condition. It’s okay for things to come from different places and look different - as long as they work together and do what is necessary.

That is one nice thing about packout system. Able to buy the “feet” & add to other cases for it to adapt to Milwaukee packout system....which is pretty nice if can find & use, imo. Have it on some of my older Milwaukee organizers that aren’t packout organizers, but now are, cuz of the feet I installed on them
Good point! I looked into that last year and the parts are expensive enough to make you just buy the packout version of the organizer.

Those small Craftsman/Dewalt bit cases also clip on to the sides of the Craftsman versastack ratchet set.
Yes, they do, small springy type clip on the side holds them in nicely.

This past X-Mas I bought 3 of those Dewalt bit kits with the new clear lids , and just like everyone else I thought they were great , but within 30 days time the locks on all 3 cases had broken . So I don't know if they upgraded the plastic and made it stronger , but those old cases were junk . Just a heads up .....✌ Be Safe ....😷
Luckily, I have not had a single one break yet. Knock on wood!
Another cool piece of info: the smaller MAXFIT and similar Craftsman cases will snap in BOTH SIDES of the 219-piece Craftsman Verastack tool set case!

It is a beautiful thing. There should be an industry standard so all the cases fit together regardless of brand or color...

I bought the empty med tough cases at Lowe's and put all my bits from the old yellow ones in them
That;s what I gotta do. Too bad DeWalt does not sell the clear cases by themselves.
Do you (or anyone else) what the model number is for those empty cases (medium or small)? I've been trying to find them...but no luck.
Now here's what I'm wondering can you snap 2 in front and 2 in back so its level to stack something on top like the dewalt tstack since the tstack and versa stack are compatible
No the only way to keep it level would be to use the medium sized DeWalt organizers, which will stretch from the front to the back of the Craftsman tool set. There is no way to make 2 small one stay on there front to back, only the one bit set on the front of the tool kit.
I have the 450 piece tool set craftsman was lucky to get it under $200 at Sear plus $100 gift card (4 installment). It was last year Black Friday sale. I thought it was a great deal. This was before the Sears my area closed down.
Sadly one in area already closed down, and the other Sears 5 minutes from my house was in the process of closing when the malls all shut down.
I am in belief that the Craftsman Versastack and Dewalt TSTAK are interchangeable components. If so, I may look into Craftsman...thanks Jeff!

Hey Jeff you can use the med bit case also on top of big bit set one on each side then snap the tough case on it
Yes the top of the craftsman drill bit case has a second latch at the rear for those long rectangular half cases.
They do the med size
Did you notice that the bit holders in both the Craftsman and De Walt boxes are dove tailed exactly alike so that you can mix and match within the boxes?

Sorry I’m late! The latch on the DeWalt case sticks up and can catch on other things in my bag and may open? Anyway, Home Depot has DW745 saw on sale for $279. The Bosch 1031 for $299. Lumber is becoming difficult to buy! They are not restocking their shelves...it’s the end of the world Jeff!

I have that same set from Costco $29.99. It will only snap onto others of the same size, this is not Toughsystem, nor s it t-stak, it is it's own size and connection.
Did you know the sides of the VersaStack Tool set can accept those smaller Craftsman and DeWalt cases?

I thought the cases were made by Keter. I know Keter makes the Milwaukee Packout, the DeWalt Tough system, and the Ridgid job site organizers too.
Both are made by black n decker, the difference is wherethey are produced. Dewalt is south Korea and craftsman gets parts from China and has it assembled in America by the finest prison labor.
Unfortunately, Craftsman bits are the worst on the market.
For the simple homeowner, they'll be fine
